Using SRBminer I'm getting 1940H/s for my 56 references flashed to 64 1407/1100 clocks, and each of them are using about +20w.  So around 160w using soft power play mod.  They are running pretty hot compared to v7 though.
Sapphire pulse 580 4GB's are still running 1000H/s, but +10watts, again temps are up so i've had to increase fan speeds from 24% TO 33% to compensate.  Not sure how I feel about the extra wattage yet we'll just have to wait for 24hr earnings to see I guess.

srb seems to get close to old hash 1900 to 1987 on my 56 flashed 64

the frontiers are slow tho 1300 , they were fastest befor well over 2k

For my R9 390 (under clocked) , the V8 rate is 57x while the V7 rate is 66x. So it is 14% less hash rate.I use the XMR-Stak

Monerov8 now in action....

Hash seems reduced...from 2000-1900 H/s to 1500-1600 H/s

Power consumption - I have to drive up to my warehouse to see tomorrow morning

4 x Sapphire Vega64 on Windows 10
CAST-XMR-VEGA v1.5.0
256GB M2-SSD, 8GB RAM
90GB Virtual Memory.
Large Memory Page enabled.
Mining at xmr.nanopool.org
I have 4 sets of these 4 Vega64 riggers running on Windows.
The rest RX470, RX480s. P106, 1070, 1070ti and 1080ti are mining under one miner using XMR-STAK v2.5.1 on SMOS Linux.

I will test the SMOS farm for NH later at their new v8 pool

Today happened the Monero fork?

If you could update with some info I will be grateful. Right now my AMD rigs are offline and I want to know if will be profitable and start them and where to mine.

I see citronick said something about monero ocean which mines the most profitable coin and be paid in xmr, sounds good.

Also I'm interested in a simplemining miner, until this summer I was using Claymore for mining V7... but now I see you guys are using xmr-stak.

I'm supposed to be picking up 6 x EVGA 1070's tomorrow from a local seller for $200/each; with all rig parts (frame, cpu, mobo, PSU, RAM, risers, etc) thrown in for a grand total of $1200 for the whole bundle.

What do you guys think? Good deal or would you rather hold off to see what AMD brings in the form of 7nm? I don't expect a 7nm release from Nvidia any time soon so not too worried there.

They are making pretty much diddly squat @ my current rate of $0.13/kWh, but I can't imagine 1070's depreciating much below $200 in the next year or two (much less nice EVGA models). I basing this partially off the fact that I sold my old 970 (a generation older mind you) a month or two ago for $150, and partially by looking at the cost of a new RTX 2070 relative to it's performance increase.

What pool do you guys prefer for mining XMR after the fork in a couple days?  The pool I typically have used for XMR has not updated yet and I'd like to be ready in advance.

ETH is still a viable option for the R9 290 - it pulls more power than a GTX 1070 and always has but it's still quite close on hashrate.

ETH was a good option for the R9 290 but its suffering that DAG bug with the TLB trashing like the R9 280X of our time.

Basically under stock clock and memory (947/1250) you could get almost 27MH/s and now you only get like 23.5MH/s. It decreases substancially every new DAG.

So you are better off just mining XMR with it because you get a little over 700H/s and you make almost the same daily but use much less electricity.

I'm still seeing well over 27 Mhash on ETH on my R9 290s - I suspect it's more the sheer size of the DAG file that is making them slow down from the about 30 they managed 2 years ago, more than TLB thrashing.
No, they're not running at stock clocks - though I did have to run them at stock core clock this summer due to the long-running serious heat wave we had for more like 25 Mhash.

What settings do you use?

I used to run them at 1050/1250 or so when ETH was more profitable and got around 30MH/s however with those clocks you couldn't undervolt them as much.

With 947/1250, they run rock-solid stable at -100mV undervolt and run very cool.

I think I am running them with the old Stilt bios however I am not sure it makes much difference. The only difference I found was with the voltage settings, the stock voltages are very large and with the stilt bios they are greately reduced and run much cooler.

I remember first running them on ETH a few years back and I think one GPU consumed over 300 Watts using the stock voltage.

you have any links for the new software to mine it?

Latest xmr-stak v2.5 and 2.4.7 in SMOS supports v8

The cool thing is that you select the algo to be just "monero" and it will mine v7 and switches to v8 on D-day automatically

I have this setup in nanopool currently with some test rigs (NVIDIA and AMD) and its happily mining v7.

Meantime, both GPU farms are fully up mining XVH until 2359 17th October.

Hey matte its me again. Sorry to bother you again. I also mine on nanopool, can you give me the exemple off bat file for xmr stack v2.5? I dont get to work with moneroocean. And it seens claymore wont update unfortenely. Thank you.

Have a great day. Send your xmr adress. You are helping a lot me.

No need for tips - just pay it forward and help other users

In SMOS you can use v2.5 or v2.4.7, whichever works for you - both works with v8
"xmr-stak-v2.4.7-dev-cuda9.1" is stable for my older USB SMOS sticks.
Farm is around 30 rigs ~ 240 x Sapphire RX470

The cryptonight V7 algo is good for the really really old AMD GPUs like the Radeon 7970/280X/290.

Basically if you properly undervolt the GPUs you can get them to use the same amount of power as an RX GPU mining ETH, about 130 Watts per GPU.

I'm not sure why buy SRB just never worked right for me. CastXMR has always been so simple.. I gravitate towards making my life easy  Grin

My Vega rigs is currently on cast-xmr-vega, quite straight forward and ready for cutover to v8 automatically.

SRBminer is very stable on my Vegas v7. But for v8.... learning curve is quite steep

Afternote: I wish Claymore can continue his good work - the best performing Monero7 for me is still his Cryptonote v11.3 - v8 and all CN forks to be supported will be nice!

I think Cast also will auto switch to CNv8
...so will SRB but you do have to write a little extra script for it to do so indeed.
