LTC TO THE MOON!

You sure your monitor is not upside down?

Checked the msrkets and most things are still down. Maybe a small bounce here and there,

Sold half of my position in ETC, during the Coinbase bump up, that was the only that put a smile on my face yesterday.

Lessons learnt -- the top 10 coins will bump up when BTC recovers nearer to SEC ETF's ruling in Sept and the Bitcoin's "year end effect".

Hoard and invest, key Top 10 coins.

Could be wrong, but I think the sec will continue to delay etf decisions until the first quarter of 2019.  How many proposals are there now that they are looking at?  10? 15?  I think the one that CBOE is involved with has the best chance of approval, but we'll see.

My AR-15 ID's itself as a toaster. Want breakfast?
hey  we can hope a coin rallies.

I am holding BTG  it is at 20.16 = really fucking bad
I am holding ETH it is at 319.71

With the supply of ETH;  I see it getting sold off as time goes on... but that's just me.

LTC TO THE MOON!

I guess Charlie was right in his tweet last year that everyone gave him shit about.  And no matter how you feel about him selling the majority of his LTC during a bull run, it was the correct financial move at the time.

Crazy day today at the markets.

I remember back in Jan 2015, I wanted to buy some ASICs cheap.

I lowballed a few people on Craiglists. Most rejected my offer.

Then when BTC hit like $150 USD that crazy day sometime in Jan 2015, I replied to all those people to see if any of them would re-consider my offer.

One guy did, sold me an Antminer for practically nothing and BTC was never lower than that day ever. I felt bad a little because the guy most likely paid retail for that Antminer plus customs and after a few months, maybe would of ROI'd if he never sold it.

The risks we take.  Don't feel bad because he decided to bail and you took a massive risk.  I just did the same on 50 L3+ for cheap since they make like 10 cents a day.  But i'm just gonna hold all the coins it makes and hope they spike hard.

I'm bit behind on my reading and just saw where folks were talking about their different mining devices and coins etc.

I havve a few ASICs mining BTC and LTC at a host site in Labrador, Canada. I also have a few rigs mining alts in my garage:

-ETH with my 470 rig  ( ocassionally, I mine a bit of  XMR, ETC and ETP for a few days.)
-BTG with Nvidia rigs.
-DGB with a Baikalminer X10. (I really like this ASIC rig. It's low power requirement and its overall profit is almost as much as 20 x 1060 nVidia cards. Compared to BTC ASICs, it's relatively quiet too- but louder than the Antniner S3 was.)

Normally, I mine BTG and DGB on Mingpoolhub and auotsell them for ETH. Lately, I shutdown teh auto exchanage feature on Minig Pol Hub and  began to accumulate a bit of BTG and DGB -ie: instead of auto selling them to ETH.

During the dip last week, I bought some NEO, Cardano and XLM. I don't know if these coins are just a passing fad. All 3 seem to have more going for them than most of altcoins. Mainly, I wanted to diversify my holdings instead of just BTC and ETH.

TLDR:

1. I believe in assorted mining gear.

2. I believe BTC and or ETH will be number 1 for a few years. However, there is a possibilty that a few other top 100 coins may be mid to long term holds too. Call me crazy, I'm also holding a small amount of:

- NEO
- Cardano
- XLM
- XRP
- BTG
- BCH
- DGB
- RVN

IF they honor the warranty.  Make sure there is no doubt to them that you are a not miner, because if they think you are the warranty is instantly void according to their new policy.

I have not had an issue but I was warned by EVGA any new card purchases would be subject to the small warranty.

So, do you guys have any insight on the expected 25% increase, for US residents, of PC components from China (and electronics in general) that appears to be coming our way in a couple of weeks?  I know we definitely will feel that burn since it's tough enough to buy more hardware in a bear market without prices jumping another 25%. Sad

That's on raw parts though, need to see if the system-level tarriffs also changed - and gets complicated since most CPUs in particular are fabbed in the US or Germany (AMD via GF and Intel) and most miner chips are fabbed in Taiwan or Korea (TSMC and Samsung respectively) and should not be getting hit with these tarriffs at all.

I forget offhand on RAM but think most of that is fabbed in Taiwan or Korea or Thailand?

Not sure how I feel about eth / etc being for gpus. Bitmain has an “asic” in this algo. Not sure how it compares to gpu.

Tossup to a hair INFERIOR on efficiency at about the same hashrate as a well-tuned 6-card 1070/1070ti rig, perhaps a hair better efficiency than a well-tuned RX 470/480/570/580 based rig.
Lower cost but NO resale value long-term.

Any idea why the sudden drop of all coins today?
simple to my eyes.   notice how low BTC is right now.....

Their method of thought: Ditch the alts, buy btc at the low.... BTC's increase ratio has a higher percentile to go up over alts.
Yeah, some alts are tied to BTC because of echanges, etc... but;  this is the simplest way to look at it.

Once BTC ticks up;  they sell, and buy the even lower priced alts;  cause others panic sold.

did a lot of careful sales shopping and

Grabbed parts for a thread ripper build

1920x             for      402 new
taichi x399      for      280 new
2x16 = 32gb ram      220 new
nvme  m2 1tb   for    230 new
evga 1000 plat  for   130 new
evga  water cooler for 89 new

thermaltake core x9 case  140 new

total of 1491     not counting the  1080tis'

and I have some old 1080tis to drop in

should be a nice case/pc

the most powerful one I have ever owned.

I can upgrade  with this cpu as a direct drop in

once I get a better price for it then 1799

Interesting build. That will keep your "juices flowing" for awhile. The thermaltake core x9 case is nice to work with. I have a couple and had as many as 12 GPUs in one case.

Great case buysolar has one with a 1950x and four 1080ti hybrids.

We built it together.

He has a 2tb ssd in it and the 1600 watt plat Evga. And four 16 gb sticks of ram.

I like that I can swap out one part down the road the ryZen 1920x. And have a huge upgrade to the 2990wx.
