I'd be perfectly happy if it just stayed in the 8000s rest of this month and didn't fall back to 7000s.

I am afraid of this pump and then later on will break out, and then will dump lower than 7k. However I do want as well that this pump may grown even further. Well, anyway, as of today we couldn't yet go there still at 8k but for now let us just hope that this price may last long like what did happened in past few weeks. Stable, so doesn't have much worries.

Looks like we are going to $9k next week Smiley

The scenario is very much open, we could or we could not, but eventually, it will reach the $9000 mark I just want to rule out the week or the month, although there is a good analysis that could back up the price it still depends on the news that are coming our way, I come to believe that history sometimes repeats itself, but what's happening around us will have impact on the market, the price and our community, we just hope all the news that is coming our way will favor us.
These volatility does really give us out chances on making money. We cant just expect for btc price on continous rise yet we have seen that it did pullback to 7700 as far as i remember and luckily i do able to purchase or put up position for that and now the price is clinging up again on 8k mark and might possibly continue to 8500 but who knows on when we do reach 9k yet 1k usd isnt really that far but i do expect that it would take for
more months as we approaching on halving event. For now its better to use up these movements to take on advantage on making out some money.

I doubt that.

$8k had been getting difficult to reach.
Yeah there might be a little pump which had happened but it didn't stay much longer.
Looks like something or someone is dumping to buy cheap before the halving.
FOMOs might be here but they are getting patient now. It looks like they have learned their lessons.
Bitcoin is still in an uptrend and yesterday's decline is just a correction in this market after the US president announced to the world that there would be no war between the US and Iran, I still believe. that this month we will definitely see bitcoin at $ 9000 and we need to wait patiently for it to happen. Halving is coming, and this news is sure to make the price of bitcoin go up quickly because there will be more newcomers interested in the market and investing in it like twice before.
But today bitcoin have downtrend after Trump announcement with Iran become their enemy country and not allowed for developing their nuclear technology, make bitcoin have lower price and gold keep down after last three days where bitcoin raise with higher price, now we are waiting with Iran respond about their war situation to make bitcoin have higher price.

I don't see any future to that prediction but we will see that in 2 to 3 weeks, although the price right now aren't that what we expect to happen and the hype is already over and the current news are no longer affects the price. and now for me it looks like we are going to see worst scenario, then now it is time to be prepared and wait for next movement of the price.

Give it a few more weeks, I expect a slow exit of the downward channel. But wouldn't be very much bothered by a fast pump up haha.
I really do not mind the market moving higher but i am not expecting to see a rally anytime soon, we have a few more months left for the halving and we need to have a huge investment coming in to see some kind of movement and right now we were not able to break the resistance at $8.4k and it might take a few months before we are able to break that resistance.

As far as I know there’s no big event currently happening so bitcoin prices won’t see a major upward movement in January, however I do hope we see more bull rallies going ahead in 2020. @Fatunad yes the Chinese president did say positive words relating to blockchain, but Bank of China spilled water on it and ended any short term hopes the market had from China relating to adoption of bitcoin.

Indeed no big even on the following weeks but I do not think China ended the short term hopes for the market and Bitcoin adoption.  China is just a single country, and the world have lots of then, even though China gave a strong opposition to Bitcoin, there are also other country who happily accept Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency.  News and articles are still being bullish regardless of China's action so I think there is still a possibility for Bitcoin to rally to $9k on the following weeks.

I'm also happy for price stay $8000 for the whole month than getting into the $9000 level only to go down, after a few days, it's been more like a see saw for the last two months I'd like to see a month where the price shows stability, but I guess it will only happen after the halving and not before it, it's the best time to watch the price than the last two years, I'm seeing more green than red.

Doesn’t seem possible now. Price of bitcoin is coming back slowly. Lets hope for some another big event,  not a war between countries but something like Chinese president giving a pro blockchain statement. Only that’s the possible way now for bitcoin to go upto 9k$.

Didn't the chinese president gave his positive statement about blockchain already and infact he's showing support and interested in it while they are on their way of making their very own token. Btc price is bound to break boundaries year by year. What we really need is the massive buying of crypto assets in the market so that the market capitalization will also increase.

There will be more buy order if the market keep doing a bearish trend since people will not get any confidence since they are afraid to lose their money if the market dumps. But if this upcoming halving will bring a perfect effect the same in year 2017 for sure we will get more buy orders for that matters.

The chance of it became thinner now. As you can see, the price is slowly decreasing again. It seems, many of you got along too much with the unexpected increase and didn't think of the other possibility. That's why I ain't confident with the recent rise because of this. If ever we'll be back at $7k, it's not bad at all, atleast we had a good run for few days in the beginning of the year. As long as the resistance in $7k is still, i'm fine with it. Before I think of btc touching $9k, I'd be more happy to see the support and strong resistance at $8k.

Just two day prior to the OP's posting, the price today suddenly went on a down ward spiral and < @7700. So obviously, it means that we are not going to $9k and could probably trade sideways again on the $7k-$7500 range. Of course everyone wanted to see the price going on $9k, but it seems that it is just a bull run (again?). And it just shows how volatile the market price is, how whales can manipulate, and how BOTS can easily sell/buy orders instantly affecting the price.

It may be true, but it is still waiting for correction from yesterday's price increase of $ 8400 .
Yesterday's price has broken the minor resistance, and there should be a determination whether it really is a break or just a false break.

I am sorry friend 9k$ is not possible next week rather 7k$ seems the next possible stop for bitcoin. We have coin halving the major event coming this year. Hopes are that bitcoin may go up with that. Other then that it’s a dry period for bitcoin ahead. The way market is going down you cant expect where it will stop.

The current price of bitcoin is around $ 7,700 more and there is a decline from the previous price, it seems very difficult to guess the current bitcoin movement and really test the patience and good expectations of bitcoin this year.
but that doesn't mean we feel pessimistic about bitcoin movements now and it's better to let bitcoin move as it is and believe that bitcoin will move well to reach the highest price at the right time, and bitcoin to reach a price of $ 8000 or $ 9000 is very easy because of bitcoin easily turn things around suddenly.

This is possible may reach or possible no because the price seems below $8k again. Bitcoin price cannot continue to $8k onwards. But of course, I would be one of those who truly wait to see the increase price of bitcoin. I also think some are catching this opportunity to buy before the pump will occur.
