While there are a lot of people who doubt and is still unfamiliar with digital currency, more and more people are joining the crypto world day by day. Why should we be exited about 1 Billion people using Crypto currencies, if it is not Bitcoin? Most of these Alt coins or tokens
are centralised in any way, so we should not celebrate people using centralized controlled Crypto currencies.
Bitcoin was
developed to bypass centralized authority and exploitation of people by centralized authorities. (PayPal / Banks / WU etc.)

I do think that Armstrong's forecast of 1 billion people in 5 years digging cryptocurrency is not impossible.
This year alone had contributed to a world wide awareness rally for cryptocurrency led by the crypto leader, bitcoin. As Vitalik believed, cryptocurrency gained enough attention already, what's next depth or utilization to grow the crypto economy even stronger than ever.
And i think that 5 years is a safe estimate for this adoption of utilization to take place. With bitcoin derivatives being deployed, institutional investors are about to make the crypto economy more lively. And for sure, user utilization will follow suit as confidence and trust will exponentially increase over time.

It's pertinent to note that this statement has come from the head of Coin Base one of Bitcoins biggest exchange makes it legit and true, as an exchange they would have done research on users behaviour. I feel this statement shall have a very positive impact on people who're either holding their coins, or planning to buy. There is every reason to agree with Brian Armstrong. There has not been a time when peer to peer transfer at minimal cost as now, through cryptocurrency. There has not been a time when getting a universal payment system is most eminent as now made possible by cryptocurrency. These are the attractions that will overpower the activities of the whales, the bears and the bulls.
