It's not the same with my country. But I am happy to see a nation that celebrates the season with Bitcoin. It only means that there's growth to that country and they're moving forward to the future with it. It's very rare to see countries that are like this so, we should celebrate with them wherever we are or if not, just be happy with the progress that El Salvador is doing right now. So, if they light a Christmas tree or a lantern with a Bitcoin sign, that means huge as a symbolism.

And they need to celebrate because they have succeeded in trying something new out and it worked for them and that is enough reason for them to celebrate so there is no need for too much talk They had a successful year in Bitcoin, and this is the reason why people are trying to get serious with bitcoin investment, and they are already in the future because they were able to pull out things that other countries were fighting against, and there is a lot of things from which they would have benefited, so let us wait and see if they will eventually bring new things, like even doubling their investment. and every bitcoin will even like to stay in El Salvador because there is flexibility when you stay in those countries and when you are trying to invest. They did what other countries find hard to do even the celebration.

That’s the spirit of Satoshi! They can do this every year as they continue to recognize Bitcoin as legal currency, showing their strong trust in Bitcoin’s future. The best part is that they hold the distinction of being the first country to declare Bitcoin as legal tender, which ensures their country grabs headlines with every related announcement they make.

El Salvador is completely overwhelmed with the love they have for Bitcoin to this extent.I kinda like the zeal and passion that they present over Bitcoin. As the leading country that has adopted Bitcoin, this will encourage and create a presence for Bitcoin awareness,Even if most people think it's not compulsory celebrating Christmas alongside Bitcoin, the information has been conveyed to a large extent.

Bitcoin and Christmas are two different things. And El Salvador should arrange for a special date for bitcoin mega celebration where there should be public holiday in the land and everyone should celebrate bitcoin in that country in that day. But they can spice Christmas celebration with bitcoin as a design to some of the Christmas trees. And in my understanding El Salvador is trying to make known of bitcoin to the whole world but inserting bitcoin to all of their celebrations for people to see.

Their Christmas tree was nice in the Capital City. El Salvador is still an outstanding country in the world by accepting bitcoin and today I believe their investment in bitcoin is yielding fruit and from next year we are expecting more countries to join the LEAGUE.

The IMF has been pressuring El Salvador to be less crypto-friendly for years. I suppose now that they need a loan and since Bitcoin didn't become a game-changer for El Salvador's economy, they've decided to compromise. To be fair, I think it's also a good measure to make Bitcoin acceptance by private businesses voluntary, not obligatory. Forcing people to adopt Bitcoin feels wrong, as Bitcoin is supposed to be about freedom.

Bitcoin is about freedom and the ability to make a choice. Try things differently. Have an alternative.
I do agree with you, the most important is that El Sal is not lost in IMF's tents fully yet.

To bad that you have a closed minded official there and don't know on why they still insist that Bitcoin is great asset created and still they are thinking negative about this coin.

The current government is neutral about it and they do not have any comments about it. To be honest, no one asked for their opinion in the last four months. The last dictator government ruled Bitcoin illegal and that is how it is right now. Police always hunt down people if they find anyone using Bitcoin or crypto. This won't change shortly if the ICT department does not take any action.

Usually, Bangladesh learns from its neighbour country India, and tends to follow them. India legalized Bitcoin years ago but Bangladesh remained neutral about it. I thought they would take some action now. But nothing changed.

It's really nice to see any country celebrating Bitcoin like this. what is your comment about this and about El Salvador 🇸🇻
it is very appropriate for them to do this knowing how much they have been putting importance to bitcoin and its part to the revival of their economy and their country's future their president is a big fan of bitcoin so i am not surprised i just hope that his citizens all share the same sentiment and with this i hope some gets to realize the value of bitcoin

Do you think your country also should celebrate in any occasion with Bitcoin?
i am from a catholic country so we are not replacing december 25th with bitcoin day or something but i do think there should be a day where bitcoin is celebrated for being bitcoin itself and not just integrate it with another preexisting holiday

Do you think your country also should celebrate in any occasion with Bitcoin?

Bro, they are not celebrating Bitcoin but they are celebrating Christmas with a Bitcoin-themed Christmas tree.
If you ask me, I would say I don't think we have such a chance to celebrate any occasion with Bitcoin because as you know, Bitcoin is banned here. So, I cannot really suggest anyone to organize such an event here. If the government follows the trending of the world, seeing how they are adopting Bitcoin instead of banning it, then we will have a chance like this to celebrate such an event. For now, we cannot even say anything positive about Bitcoin. If we say, they will tag us as a cyber criminals.

That's misconception of certain people who always get hype when they see the logo of Bitcoin.

But its really great how they celebrate their Christmas this year since by using Bitcoin theme event for this year this will also gather lots of attention from people especially if they can catch the attention of mainstream medias in the world. I'm fine with current set up in our country although Bitcoin is not been recognized here still we can freely used it since government here allow people to use bitcoin. To bad that you have a closed minded official there and don't know on why they still insist that Bitcoin is great asset created and still they are thinking negative about this coin.

As the leading country on bitcoin adoption around the globe i hope this will be an annual celebration, i mean the lighting of bitcoin christmass tree not just because its in bull season because if I remember correctly, there's nothing like this last year.
Actually, there is nothing wrong with celebrating Christmas like that with the nuance of bitcoin, especially since El Salvador is a pioneer country in adopting bitcoin. However, it would be better if El Salvador did it every year, not only when bitcoin is at its highest price which makes them gain a lot of profit and then they express it on Christmas.

El Salvador is certainly very happy with what has been achieved now by adopting bitcoin, so they want to educate the public, especially the world community, to continue investing in bitcoin. Although the celebration is considered excessive, but if they do it without eliminating the essence of Christmas and they do it every year, maybe that would be better. Because what they are doing now is a form of appreciation for what they have gotten from investing in bitcoin. Other countries may not be able to celebrate Christmas that freely because many countries do not yet have regulations for bitcoin.

I do not have much comment about El Salvador all the time. My comment has always been that the country does not have the currency of its own and was only using United States dollars as its legal tender before but later added bitcoin to it which is very good.

Do you think your country also should celebrate in any occasion with Bitcoin?
What that is important is not my country to celebrate bitcoin, but the adoption and for it going mainstream is very important and what I wanted. Bitcoin has gone mainstream and the adoption continues.

I see nations with socialist ideas quickly and quietly monitoring and adopting the new technology while others are still scared of the impact it can make in the grassroots economy.
Tbh it is still risky to have such investments especially for a country to a super volatile assets that could drop down their while capital in just a month and at the same time it could double their profit in the next few weeks. If you will consider the lost an investor may have you could think it's too risky to proceed. That's why there are only few countries that do the risk.

Damn.
Is it that bad for you with crypto where you live? It's a shame and I hope it would change in the future.
Yes, it is that bad where I live. Two acquittances where picked up from their residence by security agents. They checked their phones and saw that they were into crypto and threw them in prison. Even when explanation where made that it was payment from an organization outside the country for services they rendered, they still had to spend about 14 days in prison. And would only be released after they made payment for bail. They weren't taken to the court for them to have the chance to defend themselves. Will it change in the future? well we all hope it does.

As the leading country on bitcoin adoption around the globe i hope this will be an annual celebration, i mean the lighting of bitcoin christmass tree not just because its in bull season because if I remember correctly, there's nothing like this last year.

It's interesting to see these transformations in the adoption of Bitcoin over time and how these new developments will be shaping the world in couple of years to come. Anyone else who's still thinking that Bitcoin is not the way to go will be running away from the reality but I know that sooner or later, bitcoin will become the new currency acceptable by the world or rather the world's most preferred currency.

El Salvador has a good vision towards the emancipation of the bitcoin-driven economy hence their position is driven towards leading other nations to such new developments. The financial freedom that comes with the decentralized technology is humungos and cannot be overemphasized, I see nations with socialist ideas quickly and quietly monitoring and adopting the new technology while others are still scared of the impact it can make in the grassroots economy.

It's only natural that El Salvador celebrates Christmas with a Bitcoin tree because the country has adopted bitcoin quite well... no wonder the President supports this event even I see this like in their Palace right?

Do you think your country also should celebrate in any occasion with Bitcoin?
My country's government does not celebrate anything related to bitcoin, because it is only a commodity asset not a means of payment.
Only a few communities may celebrate, but the state does not prohibit my country is now quite crypto-friendly.

Wow! It's like bitcoin as the star of their Christmas, that's one thing that bitcoin should be very proud of. And aside that El Salvador was the first country to make bitcoin as the legal currency, this is also the first country that initiate Christmas linking to bitcoin. Although the idea is not surprising, but it's one of the biggest achievements of bitcoin I think, hopefully more countries will be able to recognize bitcoin as a legal currency in the next years to come.

Maybe you don't even need to create another thread on this, since there is a dedicated thread on El-Salvador's bitcoin adoption, you could have only made a reply there on the thread.

Regarding the said country, the entire world is proud of them because they have already set the model down for every others to follow, maybe this new year we are going into will be another increase for having a number of countries that will be adopting bitcoin as a legal tender as El-Salvador.

it's great to see a country celebrating christmas and at the same time bragging about how important bitcoin is in their country. bitcoin should have a special place in countries that allow it, but so far only el savador has been able to celebrate christmas and bring bitcoin at the same time.

hopefully in the future in my country there are people, institutions, or companies related to bitcoin who want to make a christmas tree like the one made by el savador.
