Is there anyway to tell if your P2pool actually hit a block?  Will the log file show anything like this if a local miner found one?

Are you using the default front end or one of the other front ends like extended or one I am using (can't remember the name), the extend front end has a list of last blocks, that list shows you the blocks you are working on. If no blocks appear then you are not working on any.

This front end is quite nice. https://github.com/hardcpp/P2PoolExtendedFrontEnd

This is the one P2Pool.org used.

Sorry do you have bitcoind or bitcoin-qt running?
You need to check your /.bitcoin/bitcon.conf to see if it's properly configured.

Watch out for the "Neg-Rep-Dogie-Police".....

It's not just Cisco that is affected it everyone else too, and Cisco also doesn't manufacture its hardware in the United States, it's all outsourced to China and other countries. Smiley

Also remember there are 3 sides to every story.

I prefer other countries other than the US or UK to spy on me. Because they don't give a crap about me.  Smiley If it is the Chinese government, they only care if you are anti China. Which I am not, so that is much cooler than NSA and GCHQ recording everything I say, and store them in a warehouse.  Smiley

Does this happens to everyone? I go the P2Pool running for Bitcoin merged mining and Litecoin scrypt mining. Then I can't get online. Because it is pulling so much bandwidth? I then turn off the P2Pools and then my internet is super fast again.  Huh

Yes. It happens to me. I don't know why though, because it's not pulling that much bandwidth.

It's not the bandwidth, it's your router not handling all the tracked nats

So what is the best way to do it? So that my network can handle it?

Put it on a virtual machine and dmz that machine or upgrade your router

Which router should I get?

N66u is amazing. Or use a small public p2pool

Are you talking about Asus RT-N66U - 900Mbps Dual Band Wireless N Router, Gigabit LAN/WAN, 2x USB, Print FTP UPnP VPN Server, IPv6, 8x SSID, Wireless 3D HD content streaming? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-RT-N66U-Wireless-streaming-Warranty/dp/B007W16SMO

This is actually better. Smiley

I stop buying Cisco, because they are working for the NSA.  Tongue

Asus is better they are Taiwan, and they will not work with the NSA.  Smiley

So much more money investment just to have my own P2Pool. I think I will give it a miss.  Smiley

Enable jumbo frames, but your switch will need to be able to support jumbo frames so you may need to go out and by an enterprise managed switch.

Could you suggest a brand and model?

I am using this Netgear switch right now, it doesn't see like netgear makes it anymore but you might find someone who is selling one in your area or on ebay. Locally here in where I live in Canada they sell for about $310 CAD. I have also replaced all my cables with CAT6 ones. My router is a Cisco small business 180 (r or v 180 I think), it's the non-wifi version of the 180. It supports jumbo frames. I also have my P2Pool server (which runs on openSUSE) MTU set to 9k.

The second thing to keep in mind is that enterprise switches have a much better forwarding rate than mickey mouse ones do, so they can forward high volumes of traffic better. Another switch to look at is the Dell 6224, I have seen them selling off lease for $400 around here where I live. They are pretty decent and I think Dell was providing a life-time warranty on them; to compete with HP who provides life time warranties on all their switching products.
