A very tragic story, if he was able to think clearly, he could do something more valuable to pay off all the debt from his defeat. He is still young, he also still has the ability to make more money than he has spent. His decision to end his life has left deep wounds on his family, they also never expected to face this reality. Had he asked those close to him for a loan, they would have tried to solve his problem and it would not have ended in suicide.

Yeah, the deceased might be indebted to someone who's aggressively asking him to repay. A businessman should be able to withstand gambling threats, though the correlation between gambling and suicide is not completely clear, as many factors lead to suicide. Depression, anxiety, hopelessness etc, these things can be generated via gambling, and multiple factors like heartbreaks, loss of a loved one, or a collapse of business. However, the blame immediately goes to gambling in most people's lives. The deceased may have been a compulsive gambler, whose ill gambling behavior attracted the attention of the society. His business may have suffered a series of losses and he'd be bittered to lose out more money in gambling. Anxiety harms the body by causing the amygdala to increase and get intensified by threatening situations. And also affects his memory, the deceased would be forced to engage in a decision, that he doesn't understand or have direct control over. In gambling, we must avoid the anxiety caused by too many losses.

Money-making ideas linked to gambling have led to suicide cases in most parts of the world. The government of Australia is suffering from the loss of the lives of gambling youths. And try to help via health care facilities that help to control depression and anxiety. Taking loans for gambling purposes also contributes to the shrinking of the hippocampus and at some point the gambler would feel a refresher on his brain, and think badly of himself. Shame and agony overwhelm them, as they don't seem to remember how the ill behavior had developed in their life. Nothing seems to hold back a suicidal mind, they hardly open up to people about their problems. You'd see them laughing and happily communicating with people, it takes a miracle to discover that a person is suicidal. Surprises emerge in a society when they take the painful idea of ending entirely their life, which troubles them. Family don't understand, as most of them don't look moody, only during their private times that they feel pains within. It's quite a difficult situation, if caused by gambling addiction, players should be careful of becoming addicted. I need to know why gambling addicts mostly end up being suicidal compared to drug addicts.

Question: Is there any amount lost that can make you commit suicide?
There's no specific amount that $3k is huge converted to our local currency, many commit suicide because of failure, failure to live up to the expectation of people who look upon them, people who commit do not have a support system that will make them live confidently and failure like this can trigger suicide, another oen is depression, in this case, he is depressed that he loses that money that he cannot cope with that.

Quote
If yes, then don't ever use such amount to gamble.
There's no specific amount it could be a small or huge amount but the depression that will trigger suicide tendency is the same, if you have a friend who is prone to depression advice him to stop gambling or monitor or guide him

I read about this new earlier today,  and I wanted to see more fact about the nature and amount he lost, until I read this thread that I got the details of what really happen to this young man,  and the only thing I can say about this incident is that,  there is more to the story than what we read,  may be the guy have being battling depression for a while now,  which is why he can go on that kind of insane betting  pattern and huge stake.

So before we blame it all on gambling,  let us also first of all consider the other factors that could have lead him into gambling and from the look of things,  it seems that the guy have issues with gambling addictions for him to have staked such an amount that he can't afford to lose,  but even at that,  the situation is not up to what should have lead him to take his own life for whatever reasons.

Have you ever been in a very deep mess that you put your trust in gambling? That you see gambling as your only and last option to solving your problem, and then you take the highest risk you've never imagined you'd ever take, and then after that, everything is washed down the drain and you loose everything and getting into more trouble. That's exactly where the actual depression starts. I agree that there's more to that story because I don't believe someone would just wake up one morning go to a casino or an online casino and then just decide to gamble with such an amount that you know you're not prepared to loose, there's a backstory there but the media won't tell us, the blame will all go to gambling. Regardless, this is the main reason people are asked o gamble responsibly but people ignore that fact and follow their instincts and emotions.

I just feel sorry for the family he left behind, they must have been devastated by his departure, ending his life in such a dishonorable way. Whatever the reason, suicide is not a way to solve problems, it will only add to new problems. A person must have the thought that his life means a lot to himself and the people around him and suicide is not a solution to anything, it is just stupidity. If there is a problem one should talk about it with other people, it will help them to lighten their burden a little and maybe they can find the best solution, instead of committing suicide which is a very idiotic act.

Someone who suffers huge losses from gambling may not be able to think clearly to find a solution to the problem. So we may have or have often heard the news about someone who committed suicide because he could not bear to see his many losses. They decided to commit suicide because they thought it was the best solution they could do.

They are very embarrassed and afraid to talk about it with their friends or even family members. They chose to keep their loss and chose to commit suicide. Maybe they are unable to accept the consequences of what happened to them. That's what makes them end their lives so they can be free. But in truth, it is his family who will suffer from his loss.

I hope never to experience losing a huge amount of money from gambling. I also don't expect to end my life just because of that loss. That's why if we want to gamble, we only use the money we can afford.

Gambling sometimes destroys a person's life if they cannot control themselves and the person may have lost hope of surviving or may have taken out a loan that he cannot repay and the only thing that can make him calm is to commit suicide but this is not the only solutions.
ourlives are more valuable than that money so for people out there who gamble please use the money you can afford and don't expect gambling to double your money because gambling is just a game created for fun don't let something like this happen to you and this story can be used as a lesson for gamblers out there not to indulge in excessive gambling activities, and one thing is that gambling addiction can make a person's mental state do things that are out of control, so prevent this behavior and don't let gambling dominate our minds.

Sometimes a gambler needs someone to talk to so they can give advice so they can live a better life and avoid things like this. It's sad to see people who end their lives just because they are in trouble, even though there are many people out there who live a life full of hardship but are trying. To survive, this story is enough to give us a warning here.

Question: Is there any amount lost that can make you commit suicide?

So far nothing because I use money that I can afford to lose and don't think too much about the money I lose so my mentality is quite good even though I am still actively gambling.

Apparently this is a true live event happened in my State this week and almost everyone is talking about it. About a young man that killed himself after a gamble loss, he even left a message for his family and friends before taking his life.  But I wonder why should someone take his own life  just because he lost  #2.5 million to gambling an amount  equivalent to just about $3k. I can relate to his loss but taking your life is something unimaginable and unjustifiable to do. No matter the regrets suicide isn't an option to be taking as a solution , you are only leaving bigger pains  behind for your loved ones.
~~

This is just another reminder to we all gamblers that no bet is sure and guaranteed, don't ever use an amount of money you are not comfortable to lose just because you feel convicted in your mind that the game will play as predicted. There's no such thing as sure bet in gambling.

Question: Is there any amount lost that can make you commit suicide?

If yes, then don't ever use such amount to gamble.
Easy to say but when you are on his shoes and it is an amount that you do sure that you cant pay off then you might really be ending up on the same decision on which we cant really be able to tell
if there would really be some other problems aside from gambling on which that victim had been able to experience and this is why we cant really be able to say on the actual reason.
Somewhat it is true that in any problem there's a solution and since its just money then there's always a solution and its not really that worth on trying to have a suicide just to solve out everything.
Do really knows that his family would be the ones will really be boggling on the said amount? So it is really just that useless or pointless on what he had done.

$3000 might not sound much but we do know that it isnt something that each country does have that the same situation when it comes to fiat value on which we dont
really have the same living or status.

Question: Is there any amount lost that can make you commit suicide?
We don't know the real story of this man who takes his life after a loss in a bet. But in my perspective, if that's the only case about the bet, I wouldn't commit suicide even if I lost all my money in the gambling bet. Maybe the guy who takes his life has other problems, and the only solution is winning this bet to clear his debt to other people. These people might threaten his family or loved ones, and the only thing that comes to his mind is to kill himself to protect his loved ones.

I don't think there will be an amount that would make me commit suicide, not just in gambling but also in other financial matters like investment, or if somebody didn't pay me for a big amount borrowed, and so on. As a matter of fact, I see no reason why a person should commit suicide.

Anyway, this is one of the craziest reasons to take your own life. First, he should have known that this is gambling. He could win but he could also lose. Second, that's not even a very huge amount. Third, if he earned that amount before, he can earn it again, so why kill oneself?

Like I don't even understand why someone will take their life just because they lost a bet, this is the more reasons why I tell people to gamble as they can be able to endure and that gambling is a game of chance as anyone that wants to get involved in gambling should have it at the back of their mind that they may either win or lose so that should In case they lose it won't make them to run into depression. Just look at how a promising young man just ended his life just because of careless gambling now people will start pointing their fingers on gambling that it's bad when it is the individual that got involved in gambling and didn't take precautions.

Question: Is there any amount lost that can make you commit suicide?
I don't want to be a coward, whatever happens I will face every problem because every problem has a solution. Suicide is not a good way out, as long as I am still alive, there will be hope to get out of the pressure and live a better life in the future. Depression can make a person short-minded, especially since he often closes himself off by keeping his problems a secret from other people.
Everyone has family, friends and other closest relatives to share every problem with, they will try to help solve the problem by finding solutions so that the problem is resolved. He has chosen his own path, this story is the most valuable experience for other gamblers to be more careful if they are not able to withstand the pressure after losing a bet.

That is so sad but can't blame that to gambling but his addiction.

However, ending our life because we made mistakes losing a lot of money is still a wrong decision. It's not ours to end it, God gave that to us so he's the only one allowed to take it. Man, this is a sad story, so we have to learn from this and that is by being responsible in gambling.

How to be responsible in gambling? (you can search more on google if you want to know, but I have few list I could share).

1-start with funds in gambling what you can afford only
2-Don't be greedy
3- have fun and always be realistic about winning and losing, none of us lose or win everyday, so it's normal to lose or win.

This is the umpteenth time that people who have made mistakes in gambling have definitely done stupid things like that.
Previously, there was child who was still at school and also the head of family who could not resolve the problem of debt caused by gambling.
But what really makes it shame is why their last choice is to commit suicide when all the problems that occur will definitely have the best solution even though it means going through many difficult things.
I sure that previously people who did this did not want to tell anyone, including their family that they had experienced something difficult, whereas if they were willing to share their story there would be a better solution.

Is there any amount lost that can make you commit suicide?

Of course there is, maybe he used money that was intended to be used for important things so he couldn't accept the defeat.
It could also be that he used more than half of his savings so that when he lost he felt mental pressure which made him depressed and made the decision to commit suicide.

In fact, nothing justifies a person taking this attitude, but what we need to think about are not the reasons that led them to commit suicide, but rather the mental state in which that person was.

Losing a lot of money often means that the person has ruined their life and that of their family forever, either because they created a debt that they will never be able to pay again or because they gave a valuable and indispensable asset as "guarantee". Unfortunately, some people cannot deal with the consequences they have caused and for them the easiest thing is to "cease to exist".
Some cannot find the courage to take their own lives, and so they choose the world of abandonment, begging, and running away from their family.

In any case, we can't judge people like this, the most we can do is sympathize with them and whenever we notice something similar in a relative or friend, offer help.

there have been threads like this before, such as a minor gambling using his friend money, then losing and committing suicide, and also a business company owner in my country gambling on slots, losing a lot of money and finally committing suicide, and there are still several similar stories that I dont remember.

these are all bad conditions for a person's mental state, even though we think why should we commit suicide when the loss does not exceed $1m and there are still many solutions to be able to restore it, but unfortunately the mental condition experienced by each person is different and usually those who commit suicide after losing a lot they have mental a weak person and a mind that is influenced by high levels of depression so that the person has excessive fear and chooses to end his life and in incidents like this, the most important thing to pay attention to is do not use any money for gambling except the remaining money from daily needs.

If the question was addressed to me, certainly money would not make me do the bad thing of ending my life by committing suicide. money can still be earned but life cannot be paid for with money and every problem there is always a solution so anyone who bets loses a lot of money, try to think critically if all problems will have a solution and dont do bad things that will harm the family that loves us.

Question: Is there any amount lost that can make you commit suicide?
I do not any amount of money that would make me do this and if such amount of money exist i can not put it on a gamble, is just as saying you are gambling with your own life in the line doing such. Most people believe in the god of luck and they will continue to lost their bet because even in a carefully analyse game there is still chance of lost but we can not solely depend on luck i guess that why it would be advisable not bet more than with your free money which is the money you can lost

Question: Is there any amount lost that can make you commit suicide?
Well, first of all, condolences to the family. The answer is no. There is no certain amount or specific amount wherein a person will kill themselves or commit suicide just because they lose such money in gambling; it will depend on the emotional state of the person. I think this guy in the article cannot take such losses. Maybe because the money he used is important or has something to spend on, but sadly he loses it in gambling, or really, this person is emotionally and mentally weak. I don't discriminate against the guy; I'm just saying that maybe he has weak emotions and mentality, and that's why he can't take the loss and result in suicide, which only weak emotions and mentality can do.

Anyway, this should serve as a lesson to everyone: those who know for themselves that they can't take the pain or impact of losing such money should never ever think of playing gambling. If the money is very important to you, then don't enter this field because gambling is all about the risk of losing money.

Gambling is a dangerous thing if got addicted to. Gambling is always associated with mental breakdown, suicide and homicide.
People addicted to gambling keeps on increasing their bet amount and risk when they start loosing and don't even stop when they are finally winning.
When they bet everything they have, they takes the family possession, takes loans, destroys them and their family which is a recipe for suicide and homicides.
People should learn to be responsible before leaning into high stakes gambling.

I'm sure his life worthed much more than 3000$. Actually, life has no price. It's not possible to put any material price on life, because it transcends the material. It's so valuable that we don't even have words to say how valuable it is. For that reason, it's really sad to see people getting desperate and taking extreme measures like that. I understand he couldn't support the feeling of having lost the money, and he just wished to cease that aversive emotion, so he shutted off his own life in order to do so. Suicide is the most extreme measure to escape from an aversive situation.

Now that his soul may rest in peace, and that his story can be useful for people in your region to promote mental health discussions among the youngsters and to teach them how to deal with emotions in a healthy and rational way, so stories like this don't repeat in the future. Lost money can be recovered, and that is not really the biggest of the problems. There will be always an opportunity ahead to make more money, but life is precious and unique, so let's preserve and maintain it in first place.
