Yes, I also noticed this. Many projects sell their tokens long before ICO on various presales. At a price much lower than during sales at ICO. Therefore, after the release of tokens on the exchange, those first investors can sell their tokens cheaper than they were on ICO

I began to notice that there are ICO projects that are quite good, but even they are a kind of Scam. I'll explain why I think so. First, people invest in this project at the most favorable (low) prices by buying tokens of this project, at least we are always convinced of this. But when it comes to the exit of the token to the Exchange - the price drops sharply and falls even below the original cost for one token. In some cases, it may fall 10 to 15 times. For example, the recent ICO project KickCity. The price of their token should be equal to 0.10$. Now the price for ONE KCY token is approximately$ 0.005, that is, the price fell when entering the exchange 15 times and this is not the only case. Investing in ICO ceases to be a profitable business.
What do you think about it?

Some ICO's still worth more than their actual ICO price after a couple of month in the exchange. Mostly, the price drops due to bounty hunters or perhaps some brainless ICO investor that sells their tokens quickly.

The price drops after getting listed on exchange doesn't mean if the ICO project is scam. Many ICO tokens always drops sharply after listed on exchange. The drops caused by airdroppers or bounty hunters who sell their token right away that lead the price to be dumped. Moreover, not of all ICO price drops after listed on exchange (For example : Wanchain and Pundi X). Don't only follow the price but also the project's development.
I agree with you that Pundi X is a good project. As for the fact that all projects fall in price after the appearance of their coins on the exchange - I think it's abnormal.

So, I see that opinions are divided. I though gave an example on such an ICO project as KickCity, but I do not think that this is some very good project - it is rather from the category of ordinary ones. I can tell you what projects I really think are good, but the problem is that the price of most projects just falls when they are listed. I do not think that such a strong influence is exerted by the participants of the bounty companies, as in 99 percent of cases, they receive no more than 2 percent of the total amount collected during the ICO.

not always good thus ICO scam. However, many successful ICO project also. And the investor can harvest. ICO scam is a disaster, that is currently difficult to avoid. Moreover, with the number of jobs that a growing number of ICO. Automatic opportunity scam gets bigger. so we must always be careful.

Right now, the risk of investing in ICO is very high, and we all know the loss rate of ICO this year, which prevents new investors from entering the field, without new funds to push the project, which has led to the market not going up.

I think that you are mistaken for the account of the fact that the ICO ceases to be a profitable business. So many projects are losing price, but really good projects are only expensive
this is the risk that must be faced by the investor, anything can happen can be profitable and can lose. in the price situation down investors should be smart in managing the coin in the hold and wait until the price grows. and it is unlikely that all coins will continue to rise if that's true everyone must be rich. in the ICO world, there will inevitably be growth down and up

That's normal when hitting the exchanges normally the price will drop at first but when they began to develop their project the price will began to rise. scammed ICOs are not even listed on exchanges.

You are not wrong about your observations.

However, for the good icos, the cause of fallen price is because of dumping especially from those who got it for free either through bounty campaigns or airdrop. So they just go to the market and drop their own share. This even distablize the developers and team too from there focus and white paper.

This is not a scam but a dumped ico. It happens in a lot of cases. But not all icos are like this. Some icos actually do x5 or more as soon as they hit exchanges. It all depends on the demand for the tokens and the concept behind the project. Look at quarkchain for example. It's hard to see that kind of ico dip badly because there is a lot of demand for the tokens. Expect a x10 when it gets to an exchange.

Kickcity was offering a mainstream idea and that makes a lot of people are losing a lot of trust to the kickcity. Even the development progress will not help the project a lot. Investing in an innovative project will become the key to get a promising ico just like remme which offers the interesting idea to bring the majority of dapps platform to the passwordless platform. Remember so many hacked case started from the combination by the admin and password. remme try to develop a unique idea compared with kickcity and kickcity was nothing.

There's this ICO going on for an Australian company called BlockGrain.io  They’re aiming to automate the supply chain with Grain and later on Fruit/Vegetables/Wool. The sale has started.

There are many factor that make the price of  token below ICO price but the big factor actually is from the their team founder,  if they manage the project by professional should the price of the token will increasing , For example some Australian  Project  ICO like POWR and Lympo that consist of professional and solid team  so that why the price keep growing. Now very important  to know detail of the team founder,  because they will be key of successfully of the project.

Have you heard about shitcoins? Preferably, that KCY is one of those. There are tons of ICO's that offering their useless coins. Yes, had a value of $0.10 before, but considered useless now. If the price of KCY is stable until now around $0.005, then it disappoints the hell out of me. For some quite time, I have seen just a few ICO's that are successful. If you are still hodling some of it, you may still wait it's price to just increased 10-30% then sell them right away.

Yep a good ICO can be also a scam.

Money matters so these devs are making their best to make the project at best and beautiful but we really don't know their real intentions.

I get annoyed from people calling ICOs scam. Maybe some ICOs are scam, but the most of them are legit. You have to inform yourself if an ICO is legit and if you aren't able to do this, you are blamed yourself. Just saying scam, scam, scam is nonsense!
You have to understand the point of the OP.

I think maybe they are still developing the project. But some ICO is impressed to play with the price.
But I suggest you stay patient. And if you choose to invest should do research in advance so that you will not regret.

I think you need to understand that because the increase or decrease in the price does not make it a scam. I remember the price of But connect keeps going up until they came out recently. And usually, the price takes a long time to go higher than the ICO price pair this is just the normal price movement in the market.

But not all projects will go well because many of them are fake projects so if you hold longer you may not get anything back. So you need to study the project and team behind it to hold or not.

Real projects also takes time to show the results so after the ICO if market conditions are bad then ICO token price also goes down along with other coins but if project is good then no need to worry because once project start implementing one by one features slowly prices will recover and you will get a profit in the long run. Many people including me will fail to find a good project to invest.
