Be grateful you still have choices in your work.  In times like these, it is very difficult for me to have options for my job.  Let alone choose the big salary or the one according to your passion.  Getting a job to make ends meet is extremely difficult in this pandemic.

In my opinion, back to your heart.  What makes your heart comfortable.  What's the priority in your heart?  If in your heart, you are comfortable working on your passion, then choose it even though the salary is lower.  If in your heart, having a big salary will fulfill your priority in your heart, for example like me, any job that can generate a lot of money in order to make your family happy even though it's not my passion.  So choose a bigger salary.  As long as it's a priority in your heart, your heart will be comfortable.

Working with a comfortable heart will make you happy.  When you force work according to your passion and have low pay, but your priority is to make your family happy by having lots of money, your heart will not be comfortable even though you are already in your safe zone.

Even if you're out of your safe zone, if your heart feels good.  Then you have to do it !!!  Spirit

Money matters!!

I would always go for a job that pays well even if I am not happy as I need to pay bills and buy stuff that I like. In the meantime, I would certainly carry on with my search for a job with the same salary range in the field that I love.

In life it is very hard to find a job that you love and pays you good. But, as we all know life is a struggle and we need to overcome those struggles.
Life is not easy, it is harder and everyone has to face it but what we are doing is trying to avoid it so we are struggling for our basic needs since we prefer salary over the career.Remember the first step is always harder once we start doing it then we will be the master of it and at some point we will earn more with no tiredness of doing that job.
Yes money really matters in our life but it isn't the most important thing, money is very overrated and honestly life is more than just money. If I were to choose between the two I will choose a job that I like/love even if it only pays me low because money is not a good thing to be our main goal in choosing our career path because if you do and you don't like the job very much you will suffer for the rest of your life, as long as I am earning with the job that I love even if its only a low salary I will still continue on doing it for I won't see it as my job only but as something that I love to do and i will be happy doing my job but if the job I like doesn't earn me money at all or I barely earn from that job it is a different story, with that situation you need to be practical and set aside your dreams but don't forget about it because you will eventually find it after things have settled in your life

If my "lower salary" can buy the things that I like (not really into luxurious things) and pay the bills, then, I would go with the latter.

I prefer good salary because as a family man all eyes on you, children school fees is there, children will wear clothes, children will eat food, with this i chose good salary than career you love that will not provide school fees, food to the family it can just make people honour you in the company.

I agree with you, working in a sector we love would be very nice but it can't be the ultimate goal. We need to think more about a career with a decent income so we can provide dir our families. I believe in every job we will encounter things we won't like. It's just normal. Which makes it's so much more important to have things outside of work to clear our minds. Balancing work and life is the most important for a long career.

Both can bring food to the table. But both choices are very situational. For someone who has a past job that pays a high salary but he doesn't like the environment of his workplace and his colleagues. That can be one factor someone gives up his high paying salary as he can't take his life anymore with it.

While with the job of your passion and you really love it. I've heard a lot of good stories that money followed them after pursuing the things that they love.

I'm okay doing things that I love as long as it's rewarding whether it's small. I just don't want to be choked by doing something I don't like. That's stressful.

Everyone wants a well-paying job and a lot to improve their careers ii am not satisfied with the sector in which I work.  in order to meet the needs of one's family one has to look for a good quality job while doing low paying jobs. I think low paid jobs are a lot of trouble and can't be found at the end of the day. you need to build yourself up in such a way that you can get a good quality job. Usually those who have less skills do this type of job and then come up with a salary increase.

Many times we have seen ourselves having skills that do not apply to the jobs that people offer to us.
This way, we have to choose if we are going to go for a high salary and a job that we do not like or go for a low paid job but in a sector we love.
Another factor is the fact if you have a family. People who have kids would go for the high salary in order to deliver to their children as they are their priority.

Hi guys.
The dilemma that I am going to raise is something that I think has passed everyone's mind.
Would you ever choose a job that pays a good salary or would you choose a job in the sector that you love with lower salary?
Personally, I would go for the first option...

I might not be happy/satisfy with the job that pays a good salary. I will choose a job in the sector I love then start looking for job with a good salary in that same sector.

It's your choice, just go with anyone that makes you happy.

Dude, i feel you, i undestand you very much that you still thinking what you should choose, money or pleasure. Perfectly it would be to find that job you like and gives you pleasure you need and also gets you payed really really nice. However, you cannot say that it is impossible to find such a job but it is really hard. I gues ii would choose the one that gets you great money, and after you have the money, you can start and do something you like, or something like that.
Once you get trapped into a job then it is not easier for you to get out until they fire you out because, you will take out lot of loans and you will be in the compulsion of working there to pay the monthly installments, that is how most people are working everywhere.

And sometimes your passion can't really help you to survive so you have to get a job that can really pay a salary. All dreams are forgotten because of that, I hope even you got a job for the salary, you can still find the time for the passion you left behind, cause you know maybe in the future you'll have the chance to pursuit it, the chance where you can really left the job you have all your life. And yep, there's really no age limit for someone to pursue what they really want in life.
There are two kind of people exists in the world one kind and which is the majority who are not living their life they are just here for surviving with what they have but at the end they will die without satisfying their desire of life and another one is who are here to live their life in the way they wanted.

I think nowadays a professional in any sphere can earn much money. But it's usually difficult at the beginning and not everyone can take it.
I'd love to chose the second option because i'm fed up with the first one. The problem is I really don't know what I love.

I would choose the first option, but while I would earn enough and create some reserves, i would probably start doing a job that i love and that is less paid and the previous earnings would allow me to make up for any expenses that I could not cover with a lower salary.

It rarely works like this.
I know people who got stuck in a corpo job they hated but thought they'll just earn enough and be done with it. As a result they either got used to doing it or got burned out and when they finally quit or got fired turned to addictions or stayed at home playing computer games and watching TV.
I have a friend who works abroad every 2 years for about half a year doing a job he hates but always brings back a lot of money for the Autumn and Winter. He lives with his parents, sits in his room all day and goes clubbing in the evening. He does that basically every day until he runs out of money and then goes back to work for 6 months and the cycle restarts.

I will go with the second option. Even if you are selected for the job you do not like, you will not progress in it because of lack of interest and commitment. On the other hand, you will work hard on a job or work which you like and eventually you will be rewarded for it in form of promotions and increments.

Your life can still suck if you have a lot of money, but it can’t suck if you are doing something you love.
Short but sweet note. And I must say that I agree with this. Life can really bring the worst events and happenings but when you're doing something you love, you can't really feel that it's hard. You won't see it as a job but as a hobby.

I'm saying this now from experience. I'm in my first job as a teacher and as we all know, teaching is not that easy especially during this trying time. But I think I've always wanted to share my knowledge with other people and teaching is my way to do that. I don't get huge amount of salary but seeing students learn from me is something precious and priceless. Smiley

Same i would still chose a good salary over a career i love but doesnt give my desire of payroll. Both are the same that requires work in order to get paid. A job that pay me good will give good result for me to invest in ny own bussiness rather than work for a career that i love for the rest of my life.

Of what point would it be, having a huge salary but labouring in bondage such that, your unhappy and unsatisfied! For sure, everyone would choose a career in the course they love with a fair salary, at least for me. Happines or peace of mind has a worth you can hardly imagine.
