Lastly many experts have downplayed those numbers quoted in the survey, but they have acknowledged the truth that addicted gamblers are not getting the help they require to cure themselves, and since we’re a community I feel that we should try and help these gamblers as, and when we find out about their gambling addiction.
The only way I think it's possible to help someone get over their gambling addiction is through advising such person on why they need to stop gambling, and the risks they may face if they do not; I don't think there is anything else that can be done, but more often, they hardly can take this advice and as long as they have money in their pockets, they go on to gamble with it.

Imo curtailing gambling addiction rests on the gambler, it's a personal decision they must take on their own, most times maybe after a huge loss, it could just lead to their self realization that if they don't slow down they may lose something more valuable in the future.

I'm not sure that only giving advice could help. Gambling addiction is in medical way equal to.any other addiction and such person needs professional help. Friends and family can be a support but in most cases that will not be enough, unless maybe in some early stage. Also, similar like an addict, family very rare recgonizes addiction symptoms until it's too late.
Big loss of money might be powerful trigger to admit the problem and addiction, however for some even that isn't a wake up call.

This survey is true and maybe a lesser than expected, since many played secretly and they don’t even show their true emotion when it comes to gambling. Gambling is all over the world and I’m sure there’s a lot more worse country when it comes to gambling addiction, well its hard to stop people from being greedy in gambling.

If you’re affected by someone’s behavior because of gambling, then better to stay away or help that guy to get himself out of trap because if you don’t help them at least on a simple way they’ll ended up totally broke.

GambleAware charity in association with Yougov conducted a survey which revealed shocking information, that around 1.4 million gamblers (UK citizens) were facing problems with their gambling addiction.

It’s also worth mentioning that the report further claims that around 3.6 million people were effected due to someone’s else gambling problem, though I don’t understand how would they be effected by someone’s else gambling problems?.

You don't understand?Really?
If a family member has a gambling addiction, the budget of that family/household will be damaged a lot.
Addicted gamblers can get into debt pretty fast and if one member of the family has debt, that debt becomes a problem for the entire family,in one way or another.
I was expecting the quarantine/lockdowns to trigger some sort of increase of people's addictions.
Many gamblers use their addiction as a form of "escapism"-running away from the problems and from the stressful situation that is happening around the world.

Its my first time to hear up that someone get addicted when they do tried out to help someone's addiction problem. So this mean that they do accompany them with their gambling habits? or just trying to look after while they do play and thats the time that they have create that gambling motives instead on going to help that fella. Its just dumb that you do easily let yourself fall to the pit since youre the one that tries to help
which means that you are fully aware on gambling addiction effects thats why im bit confused nor shocked in this kind of reasoning.
