The price for Bitcoin Cash fly high in the first hours after it's appearance, but any manipulations with this altcoin wasn't possible and many exchangers. Only lately I have found the list of four exchangers where deposit and withdrawing were possible from the most 1st of August.
Bitcoin Cash poped and nobody knows when the price will reach the same price as at the first day again. I plan to hold it till I will not see ate same results.

No need to think about it. Dump it already and dont even think about it anymore or you might be saving dust after all knows how they can dump their bitcoin cash.   Grin
It is a freebie and that is what will happen afterwards. They want money and that is all. Not an investment or another coin which had the bitcoin name in it.  Grin

I kept my Bitcoins in my Electrum wallet so I didn't receive any BCC at all. I was not brave enough and not courageous enough to trust the exchanges and maybe this was an error of mine. I hold my Bitcoins since a long time and I think people who wanted to take advantage of BCC should have sold them directly as soon as the exchanges allowed it.

My story exactly but the exchanges should have informed everyone about their status towards Bitcoincash long before. I have heard some local exchanges are still deciding now to give out BCH to their users. I dont trust exchanges so I keep everything on an offline wallet, will claim my BCH when I felt it is necessary. Until then let it be in my safe locker.

I dumped half of my free bitcoincash at around $500 and another half on $350  Angry
I could have sold them at above $1k if I had left my bitcoin in bittrex exchange at the time of fork but I didn't.

Now price is already at around $200 and I think this can go even lower when many other bitcoin holder will came to know about this free coin. Currently getting confirmation on BCC transaction takes more than a hour which is just shit. I don't think I will reinvest in this one in future.
This exactly what lead many traders to loose huge amount of money everyday depending on the analysis of human nature - greedy is always the key - lesson learned
Good luck next time

When the blockchain hard forked, I did not care about splitting my coins. But when I saw it was trading at more than $500, I decided to split them later and to wait for the price to go higher. But the price dived and now I regret it.

What about the rest of you, have you already dumped?

Sometimes it better to hold your coins rather than selling them in an awful low price. The price of BCH might go higher but nobody know exactly when that is going happen. If I were you I'll hold my BCH for now and see what the market may have to do in the following weeks. You got the BCH for free what you go to lose, anyway? Just hold your coins for a while and see the outcome in the coming weeks, don't get panic for now. Smiley

I am not going to go through all that effort to import all my paper wallets, just to split some coins that will be worthless

within a few weeks. I have imported some wallets, just to test how it works and to see if I could actually sell it and I did. I

am the perfect hoarder and will hoard shit coins too, if I had to... you never know.. in a few years from now, it might also be

worth something.  Wink

Dumped it personally, more out of principal rather than thinking that I might not make more money in the future. It will probably pump again around November when core doesnt honor the 2x part of the agreement.

However, it is altcoin right. Biggest currency in the digital platform is bitcoin but we are worry about hard fork recently happened. Please be stick with the bitcoin to be much safer side.
There is a possibility to be a see the lose also that is why I am saying it.

You are incorrect.  As long as you control your private keys, you control your BCH.

In fact, you were far less likely to receive your BCH had you held them in an exchange, because you needed to trust the exchange.  Holding your coins in your own wallet, the chance of you receiving BCH was 100%.

Electrum has even created a guide on how to securely move your BCH.  If you hold a large amount and you're willing to use a separate computer, I would say it's definitely worth it.
I was not brave enough and not courageous enough to trust the exchanges and maybe this was an error of mine.
It was not.  Bitfinex only gave 85% of the balances and Poloniex isn't clear about what they intend to do.

As we don't know what will happen with BCH I have dumped a percentage for BTC. The ones I havent dumped are on paper wallets that I can't be bothered to import.

Awfully biased poll.  There's no option for "I do not intend to sell the Bitcoin Cash".

The only two options you need are "Yes, I have sold my Bitcoin Cash to obtain more BTC" and "No, I have not sold my Bitcoin Cash to obtain more BTC".

If you wanted a poll about intention, the only options you need are "Yes, I have sold or intend to sell my Bitcoin Cash to obtain more BTC", and "No, I have not sold my Bitcoin Cash and do not intend to sell my Bitcoin Cash".

Personally, I'll be holding mine, and perhaps buying more later when everyone thinks it's dead.  My theory is that whales will accumulate it at a low price and pump it later.

Core was never part of the agreement, and they do not need to "honour it", nor do they have power to decide how the economy will react to a hard fork or whether it will happen.

I want to wait for the price pump because there are a lot of humors that is spreading that BCC is having a good price. So after I got some I store it in my wallet.

After that I read some of the comments here about the fork and the new alt coin and was surprised by it. I quickly send my BCCs in an exchanger and sold it. It may not be that good price because I don't have a lot of bitcoins but getting some BTCs for free is amazing. So yeah, I dumped my Bitcoin Cash because the users are not interested in it.

Actually you made the right decision. Bitcoin cash is now dumping and hype is already over. The greedy chinese supporter of BCC was failed on monopolizing BCH price by hyping the price. In the end. BCH was still being thrown by all holder for free BTC. But thanks to them, we have free pizza for there shit scheme.
Not only a pizza but i have a free grocery on those amounts cam from free BCH and they did really fail on hyping the coin and now the community still the winner here because they do decide to dump it and going back to bitcoin. BCH is just an apparatus to earn free money and who the heck who dont like free money as of these days? None right and as you said we should still be thankful on their fail scheme.

Obviously i've dumped that altcoin at $390, but i wish i could sell it when the price was at $600 because very slow confirmation due to very high difficult with low mining hashrate.

When the blockchain hard forked, I did not care about splitting my coins. But when I saw it was trading at more than $500, I decided to split them later and to wait for the price to go higher. But the price dived and now I regret it.

I haven't dumped yet, because I dont know how to do this process and maintain privacy.

Exchanges are asking us to deposit our entire bitcoin wallet into a single deposit address. I cant find exchanges that will create a new address each transaction.

Not to mention how annoying the whole process is if you need to transact every single public address and pay the fees and wait for the slow BChain etc.

Actually few exchange let you "generate new address" and they don't ask your identity/verification if you don't trade in big amount. Also, i think you can use feature "send all" rather than transact every single public address and even low fees won't make confirmation longer since the block isn't full.

But don't you see the problem in sending all at once?

You are killing your privacy, because you are sending your entire wallet into a single transaction. This means that now, everyone that had your public key, can know that you own these other bitcoins in other keys too, because it all got sent at the same time in a joined transaction into the same address...

This is giving me an headache. I wish bitcoin was truly fungible.

Have you missed the 1k price range on BCH? It did reach up on that price point which is twice on the amount you do mention and it did go higher even more and if you sell of on those prices then for sure you would really be happy on that free money from BCH. We do have the same situation which i didnt care about bch at all but when i see the initial price i do strive to transfer it and claim some of it then sold directly it might be cheaper but i dont have regrets.

The main reason behind the dump was, many people sold the free BCC coin to get some free bitcoins.
It was the major reason behind the dump and at that time, it was difficult to trust on that coin and purchase it, so the selling rate was more on exchanges. Many people have already sold their BCC.

I wish I got in on it but I had all of my Bitcoin on an online wallet during the split, so I didn't get any private keys that I would be able to use to get BCC from. They were in the middle of transit to an exchange in case there was an issue with the market during the fork.

I was considering dumping back when it was trading around $500 but I realized that I didn't really care, even if there was some money to be had. I wasn't going to get any value of real substance and there would have been very little money made compared to what could have potentially been lost if the market started to take a tumble.
