People are very hard to please. If a DEX doesn't have a ton of volume right off the bat, people will not bother looking at it a second time.

Binance is trying to work at the market making aspect to offer people volume and liquidity, which they do a reasonable job at, but it's not a DEX. It's still Binance in full control over the development and whatnot. If they choose to stop being a market maker, the volumes will collapse and their "DEX" will be left empty.

Volume, liquidity, tight spreads, that's where all DEX's struggle with. It takes years to grow organically, but who's going to wait years? Roll Eyes

I am agreed to you with this point that if have not more volume people will not use it. Really jot only decentralised exchange even if centralised  exchange also lack of volume and liquidity  people obviously avoid that exchanges.

Don't worry when people will be tired of KYC, hacks, exist scams, taxes, they will jump on using the DEX. Too bad currently they have a very low volume. Bisq is the type of DEX I'm interested in but thinking about it what about Binance, it was supposed to create a DEX, people were praising it but no more. Is the Dex alive now?

Yeah, you don't read the news? Binance ''dex'' is live and already banning a lot of people from a lot of different countries including the US. I was honestly quite hyped for Binance DEX but it turns out to be a semi-dex afterall.
Just as suspected for this Binance Dex.I've been longing for this Dex but it turns out to be a semi-centralized which isnt really that surprising.

In regards with volume i can really give that thing but for those who believe about fully decentralization then this exchange wont really fit out.

I didn't follow the news so I'm just hearing from you. But it doesn't seem very exciting to try it. I'm just curious to check its volume.

...

DEXs don't ask for KYC, otherwise why using a DEX at the first place. Better to use a centralized instead. And no this has nothing to do with regulations since they don't to abide by.
Decentralization is the real power against authorities and regarding multiple sides.

If DEX is going to ask for KYC then that's not quite right. There can be no real decentralization when that happen and I guess this has to do with regulations, if dex isn't going to comply the law then it could be taken down by the governing bodies.   They could operate on offshore hosting companies for it not to be taken down right?

Switchdex was ethershift before and they don't have an option to trade with Bitcoin, I guess this thread falls on altcoin's service discussion.

the most close one is bisq but need to grow in volume...but when this will be main stream we all be jumping all day long,
Bisq's trading volume is increasing (chart), if more exchanges starts putting restriction from certain countries others might start using DEX.

All DEXes have low volume because people do not use them. For sure all these restrictions will bump up the volume of DEXes as well as the use of privacy coins.

the switch will be...its cannot be the other way, do you think first time people buy bitcoin give a shit that it peer to peer and other important stuff?  no most of them came for the money, then people learn and educate them self, the smartest seat on decentralized exchanges and the smartest are much less trade they dismiss market movements compare to traders...so if they sell something they sell it on decentralized exchange.

it must to happen its like with peer to peer file sharing here there is curve of learning and more friction for people. but in the future centralized exchanges will not exist ...

Thoughts? Im definitely bias towards switch but i truly think its one of the few real decentralized exchanges out there.

Also not sure if right section

If McAfee is involved, all that is said is in vain. There's a lot of DEX out there. I'm sure a few of them are doing good.

The future functioning of exchange services will be completely on decentralized platform. As a start to the same is the existence of such decentralized exchanges. Steemit on its own platform getting its decentralized exchange will be more effective and at the beginning people find it hard to use. As a part Binance too is working on the creation of its DEX which will go live soon.

The question is if decentralized exchanges could exist and run their business. In the flood of rather strict regulatory demands this will be hard to achieve. I think both exchanges and users should adjust and accept some different rules. Also, not all exchanges could survive in such environment and I think that market will actually do the selection.

peer to peer always win centralized tech relative to the education of the people which mean, the more educated the more jump to peer to peer exchange,

no body can lock your account and your funds, hackers have much less control, in decentrlized tech hackers feels like inside maze hhhhh
