Its a interesting news , i know japan have a great in many thing and i think this is successful also ,but they need to teach some villagers to understand the important of the ico and the uses of this. That is the good news and i think because of this many countries have idea to seek the blockchain technology.
Yeah, it is really very interesting news and what is most interesting about it all is seeing the real life usage of the crypto space within the governmental system. As we keep seeing real life cases like this, there would be more chance for other government of some countries to start seeing the great opportunities that abound in the cryptocurrency space. One thing that is still a bit blinding to me is how they intend to utilize these funds as that was not explicitly stated.

A small japanese village named, Nishiawakura is making their economy much more beneficial with the help of cryptocurrencies by launching a Initial Coin Offering. I think it is a best way to help some small villages to grow up with really good profits and also it might bring the cryptocurrencies some more close to legalisation.

The village is home of approximately 1500 villagers and and they unveiled their plans to launch a regional initial coin offering.

This is a perfect head start and i hope that several such villages can soon adapt this strategy to strengthen their economy

In my own opinion, cryptocurrency can really help an entire country to improve their own economy, if cryptocurrency will be legalized by the government then there will be more people who can actually have their own job and being a jobless is not a problem anymore since you can become a trader or advertiser of an ico.

Now that is something amazing!!

A great initiative by this small village will not only boot up their economy but would also be a quintessential example for other areas in the vicinity of this place. In fact Japan has always been an example setter for all others when it comes to adoption of digital currency.

P.S.: Hoping for more such great ventures in future too!!

A village that ran Initial Coin Offering to secure funding. that sounds weird enough to me. Anyone able to explain how the society and the village able to get benefit from it. And what exactly the use of the Coin?
They say that "All the funds that the village manages to gain through this ICO will be used for carrying out further business development in collaboration with the village itself."
I'm not quite sure what these business activities will look like. Perhaps, forestry? some cultural events? "green economy"?
I would love to read their white paper or a roadmap, but, unfortunately, the website is in Chinese only.
I wish they would translate it into English at least in order to attract more curious people..

I hope that they at least have something interesting that they're going to do with their ICO instead of just kicking another shitcoin into the market. It's starting to get boring when it seems like every second coin is just some copy-paste under a different name. At least make it something interesting in the sense that it relates to their local industries - meaning forestry, according to the article. It doesn't have to be fancy, just something better than a general token that'll be forgotten about.
That is the idea indeed. Because I really do not see the point of an ICO without having something succinct to do with it. Although, not much detail was given in the article, but in the end, I will actually love to see how this would play out.

This is a bit new to me though, with a small village trying to strengthen its economy with crowd funding, but at the end, it is all about how they intend to manage the funds, what they intend to use it for, the part of the sector in the village they wish to use it to strengthen or at the end like you have mentioned, it won't just be another shit coin or token in the market.

I am a little bit disappointed they are going to do it the ICO way, I think cryptocurrencies are really beneficial to the economy at every level as a complementary/different money than fiat and I think there are so many different ways they could have introduced crypto like an airdrop for citizens, establishing partnership between established cryptocurrencies and small businesses/shops there, facilitating payment with crypto for local taxes and for everything in this local economy... But well, I wish them success however, as they are among the first to try it, who knows  Cheesy

read the opinion above I feel more stable with the future of crypto, legality and sensitivity to the future has been read with mass movement even though it is still a small village scale but it can be ascertained the blessing of japanese government, I am very happy to read the article and I hope fore there which can be more than that and I still believe in the existence of bitcoin as one of the top 5 coins in the future, with bitcoin position which should not be top position but still in top 5 altcoin, with btc fixed belief as mother of altcoin, may be useful and successful for We all

I believe in that.  You're in small village but, you're in the cryptocurrency so you're economic in that village is all users of crypto, and the government is  in full support of cryptocurrency, and the good is they develop their own economy through cryptocurrency

The idea sounds really appealing for the community, but has pros and cons. If the balance of the town is active, then the economy will flourish even further due to the stronger coin value. But the cons might be even stronger, as some malicious communities might jeopardise and dump the value for any silly reason. Like medieval towns in their own rights which water supply was blocked. They died all soon after.

This is completely awesome, if somebody would ask me about the country which is doing that, I will definitely answer that it would be Japan because people are not afraid to try something new there.

Well, what is their intent with the cryptocurrency after collecting funds from ICO? I understood from the article that main purpose of the ICO is "securing funds" for a forrest-depending village. However, cryptocurrencies are about technology and adoption. If they don't plan a real world use case for the coin, it is simply making money out of thin air.  Sad

this sounds good but isn't it too risky to tell the world that they are in crypto? they will be identified, being a villager is narrower than that of being a country, but oh well, at least they can influence other villager or country all the more in pursuing bitcoin to be well known and well accepted by many. good job.

it is a very good idea for a country that legalizes bitcoin, if all countries have such a policy. maybe the countryside will be better organized and have a pretty good economy.
the longer legalized bitcoin in a country, the less profit will be gained. so Japan will become a prosperous country in the future with higher btc prices. and villages in japan we can make an example for immediate investment btc

How is that going to strengthen their economy? Most ICOs these days are now regarded as scam, so not everyone is interested in putting their money in ICOs. So these people are going to find it difficult.

And I don’t really fancy the idea of relying on cryptocurrencies to strengthen the economy of a country, while there are many other way much better ways that you can make use of just farming. Farming can help them go a long way than cryptocurrency can do. Just my own opinion.

An interesting breakthrough, that way, people in a village can manage the economy independently without having to expect help from the government in the country so that people there can improve the economy without having to rely on fiat fiat. Hopefully the community plan in the village can be done and become a success and be an example for the villages that want to follow their plans.

this is good news, indeed sometimes the change comes from small things, so it may also happen to crypto, this is a good strategy where crypto grows from a small environment, because sometimes success begins with small things, this can be a motivation for countries that have remote areas where the economic equity very difficult to apply where the economy is accustomed to concentrate only in the capital city of the country that trigger large-scale urbanization flows, this good idea is really a brilliant solution, but behind it all the necessary cooperation from the government which means that legality is necessary, means of support, internet access that must be considered because it usually becomes the biggest obstacle when we talk about developments in the village that sometimes very minimal means and lag in the education sector

This is a good news getting support from crypto to strength its economy for the village. Some local and general authorities accepted power of crypto market. This is a significant step in terms of future of cryptos.

This is good news, this is can make other country follow this strategi.
If my country use cryptocurrency in real life, i believe that can be better.

right, man. I think villages in some other countries will follow the footsteps of nishiawakura villages to develop their economy by involving cryptocurrency.
