Well for starters, watching sports is just really enjoyable.

If you are a fan of a given sport, chances are, you probably have an idea regarding the circumstances of such league. This person would know all the fundamentals, the changes, and all the recent changes that happened on such sport which would give him an idea on what team/s is/are performing well or poorly.

With this in mind, a person may have an idea on which team would probably win against another team. It is like, you apply your knowledge and this lessens the risk of you losing in the process.

I'm not really sure what you meant by that question. As we know, there is always this two kinds of bettors; one who plays luck-based games and one who plays sports betting.
That alone, we can already tell their difference and it's very understandable why people are sticking to their choices because aside from the fact that they chose it because it suits them, they also picked it because they believed that in that area, they got more chances compared to the other one.

That's the reason why I like sports betting, it's not only based on pure luck. You have to analyze the game, the team, and the sport itself. You won't only be relying on your luck since you can analyze the sports so it'll give you a clearer view of who you'll think will win. Aside from just typically waiting to see if you'll win or not, it's also entertaining to watch the sport itself and it is thrilling.

Sports has now become a part of business. As a result, a person who likes sports can no longer enjoy the sport as before. Now the sport is at a stage where there are no small or big teams any time any of the big teams can lose their matches. There is no way to question it. Same way you don't understand about sports betting that's how some of us don't very understand slots machines that's predominantly on luck for a gambler to get a win without a needed skillful knowledge about slot games.

The skills and analysis that is involved in Sports betting is what makes it so interesting for we the fans of sportbetting before we turning to our luck for our bets to get a favourable win. The stronger teams losing to the weaker teams unexpectedly is what makes it worthy of our bets that shows how fair the games of sports are and the results not controlled by the management which is something that commonly happen with slot machines (a lot of interference by game providers).

Sports betting and skill doesn't really go hand in hand for me. Maybe the skill is to see whether odds are worth placing a bet or not, which requires of course some understanding of the sports and the situation in a league and a team, but still I would say it remains a game driven by luck predominantly.

I think raising the stakes or having skin in the game when actually watching a game is definitely more fun. Most people prefer to play poker when at least a little bit of money is involved, it doesn't have to be much, but playing with play money only just for fun is usually not very fruitful as people just shove their chips into the middle. It is similar in sports betting, it makes watching a game a bit more exciting and more involved. But not everyone wants it or needs the extra thrill, though, I like it from time to time.

I don't think that's the case. If you are updated with the recent roster changes, coaches, management, and all then you can still aim for a higher chance to win in sports betting. I have to agree.The illusion must be what keeps people coming back.I am trying to bet on Baseball and place multi parlays with over 6.5 to over 8.5 and I keep losing for one game,of course I have absolutely no way of knowing which team is better as I don't understand but I have started doing so as I got really mad by losing consistently in soccer betting.Of course the arbitrage needs a whole team to keep track of everything and you can't do it alone,there is no way to do it perfectly all alone so this is out of the equation,I think that most people think that they know the teams and it is this illusion which most probably keeps them coming back.
