Myetherwallet is a reliable wallet for holding a wide variety of ERC-based token. This is a web-based wallet. Although there are also mobile-based wallets, I still prefer MEW because it is easier to use and is safer. Despite of being a safe wallet, there are still a phishing site that imitates MEW's name, except that it is mispelled so be careful.

what would be a good wallet service to hold tokens?
Myetherwallet is in my opinion best and safest wallet to hold your erc20 tokens. It is very simple and it is easy to use, only thing you need to be careful is about all those phishing fake myetherwallet sites, so bookmark mew link and don't use or click random links. I only hope they will ad 2fa one day.

MyEtherWallet is good for token but most of people using it loose their coin due to online human error which is why I consider a cold storage wallet that support token as the best option i.e Trezor upgrade Version 1.6.0 that supported NEM, UBIQ and EXP.

I found e-Chat project, crypto messenger that has a build-in super security multicurrency wallet (usd too), and money you can send to friends right in the messages, or support some activity in the blog platform with crypto-like function.

check it here https://ico.echat.io/ or https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/anncryptolikee-chat-first-decentralized-crypto-messenger-2255337

AFAIK , MyEtherWallet ( MEW ) is the best one.

For reminder , you still need careful especially when you're new investor and try to use new MEW interface because there are many people who spread out malware in order to achieve people's password ( JSON ,private key,  etc )

I would recommend using a Ledger or Trezor in combination with Myetherwallet. I do that myself and it works really well!

MEW with a ledger nano S, i think it is a really clean and secure combination.  Ledger nano s can sign transactions securely and MEW has the most tutorials and community support so if you run into anything you don't understand you can research how to  the sign transaction types you are looking (of course do the research BEFORE you sign the transactions).

I use myetherwallet because it is very easy to use,
and cheap cost has a good reputation so many users choose it,
but never share your private key to anyone because it is the access to view your account, and most importantly keep your address and private key in place safe if you need to write or address your dowloand wallet along with your private key.

I used to use MyEther too, bucourse it's very good wallet. But he needs to reduce the cost of transactions, because he has grown in price, and it is necessary to regulate the cost, because there will be competitors who will do it faster and cheaper, which will negatively affect the purse itself. and it is not very convenient.

Use myetherwallet.com for ERC20 Tokens (80% of ICOs use MEW) or try Ledger wallet; is a great offline wallet for both bitcoin and altcoins too.
