If that's true I think the price of a Litecoin is going to rise again Smiley

The current price is about $4,34 (according http://coinmarketcap.com/ ). It looks like it's only increasing as the Bitcoin is rising. So, I would say, let the Bitcoin rise Smiley

4 months ago LTC was trading at this same price and a much higher LTC/BTC ratio. BTC has since taken off but LTC is still sitting around the same price. When BTC hit the highs of 260-280 a couple months ago LTC was at almost 6 yet now its only worth $4. I see a huge run up to about $9-10 usd in the next couple weeks if BTC stays where it is

For people who are simply buying / mining Altcoins to sell them for a (higher) price, they are obviously usefull. I see the Litecoin has reached about $4,35 right now. I didn't predict that a few weeks ago, but since the Bitcoin price is rising, the Litecoin is too. Also other Altcoins.

Great news for Litecoin miners that it reached this price though Wink

LTC and FTC mining profitability is quite high right now...

Hi I'm new here. I'm seriously considering investing in several different cryptocurrencies. Regrettably I don't really have the resources to buy a coin @ near 400 dollar American. I would like to get into some other more cheaper currencies. I've read the list on wikipedia of the various types like Goldcoin, Mastercoin, Litecoin etc -- 1st question -- would you guys recommend even getting involved in these cryptocurrencies?

Next -- how exactly do I invest in bitcoins or litecoins or other such currencies? Do I need a bank account? How do I set up a wallet? Any FAQ's I can use? Thanks.

You don't have to buy one bitcoin you can just buy 0.00000001 Bitcoin. In my opinion 0.00000001 bitcoin has far more value than any altcoin because i see no use for any of them.

I thought XPM was going to be interesting.  But it seems to be headed for the earth.

I'm hoping someone figures out a way to mine by using the computing power for something like protein folding.

What do you think about ProtoShares? https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitshares-pts-formerly-protoshares-mandatory-upgrade-snapshot-announcement-325261
It uses a new Momentum Proof of Work (POW) algorithm that is designed to be GPU and ASIC resistant.

there are lot of new criptographic coins every month, but only people with his trust on that coins can make them valuable, we need time and see everything

for alt coins i prefer mining than buy with real money. But remember Bitcoins started like others coins...... and you can see how people trust that coin and its value is too hight now.

Time time time!!! we need see this along time Smiley

I've known about Crypto for a good while now but only recently decided to get into the scene and try my hand at trading it

I'm a decent programmer going for A CS degree ATM and was going to improve on one of the opensource BTC-E bots I found in hopes of mining a profitable trade bot.

do you guys it would be better to point that bot at LTC or BTC?

What do you think abaout Primecoin?

Seems its getting more attractive...Coins per Block have fallen from 10.5 to 8.5 in just one day.

Or can it also rise again?

Litecoin is taking off, lol wish i would have mined more ltc back when i used the gpu, well that and wish i would have bought more bitcoin back when they were four bucks a piece.....had a chance but the past can be fickle little thingy....lol also remember coming across the bitcoins origionally back in 2009 or early 10 and trying to solo mine....long time ago, and rediscovered it back in 2011....been happy mining ever since....lol fpga is already startn in litecoin.

well litecoin goes for less than four bucks a piece... so there you go, you've got yourself a second chance (its the strongest contender of the alt coins... at least for now)

I think it all depends on your character
how you react to it
whether you are an aggressive person or vice versa
