I just checked myetherwallet and I have nothing there. Most probably it comes from an airdrop.

I think you joined some airdop or bounties where you forgotten it or may be they randomly choosed your id from somewhere, but I don't recommend to concentrate on it.

Just be patience and everything will get fixed asap also check here about their announcement thread to see whether your name exists or not.

More probably this is an airdropped coin to create awareness or something. Since it is free, just leave it in your wallet. I don’t think the developer can compromise your wallet with an airdropped coin.

I recieve same shitty token BCV among the others from airdrop. I just don't understand, why is there written "Not a valid ERC-20 token".

Because the token's "devs" probably have no clue or idea of what they are doing Cheesy

Same here, in my new address created from scratch 5 minutes ago. Do I need to worry?
don't worry. it's just that the token is generated as the normal token. It's harmless and may be of no value. you may have participated in the airdrop and get it

On myetherwallet often come all sorts of shit coin. They are given for a certain amount of a coin, for example ETH. This is done for the PR.

Most of the unknown coins that I know that appeared in my ether wallet are useless and do not have any real use or exchange, most of them are sent just to redeem an extra bonus to participate in their ico.

I have got some identical tokens too . Not sure if they were the same but apparantly lot of people are getting such tokens . They are nothing but tokens with little value and aiming to get dumped . The devs just dump them to get rid of them .
They are just going to sit right there in your wallet aiming to never get a good value for exchange.

Feels weird that kind of message on the MEW. As I feel, one possible reason might be someone sent coins which are not ERC20 compatible. But if that is the case, how can the coins arrived to MEW at the first place.

Gotta love airdrops. I checked my wallet the other day and had several new coins.  It isn't a whole lot of money but hey who knows what it could be worth in the future.

i'm also curious on that coin name where his came from, but if this free from airdrop or whatever hoping someday that kind of token are become useful or profitable in the market.

EVERYONE... Make sure you read this to understand airdrops and what you can do to secure your MEW.
https://myetherwallet.github.io/knowledge-base/tokens/airdropped-tokens.html
(or search "airdrops")

Just like when you fill out something online and your email, phone number etc is out there.... you could suddenly receive marketing info from some company you didn't expect or request.

Your public ETH address is just that.. Public. Your PRIVATE KEY IS NOT. KEEP IT PRIVATE.

So read the link and see that anyone can send tokens to your public address.
