I personally think a swift change PoS rate from 70-100% to 2-5% is not a good idea, it's a very big change for a coin and its specification. I very much prefer a more slow gradual decrease on shorter intervals (e.g. instead of jumping from 100% in year 1 to 2% in year 2, we can do a slow decrease every 1-2 months until we get to 2% within 2-3 years).
I don't think the original developer thought about the long-term PoS issues of the coin, this is evident from the code he wrote but this is something that we need to decide.

I advise people not to trade before we release the fix anyway, as I believe the trades now are not at the coins true value. Do you imply that they might not have all the coins deposited available for withdraw?

There was rumors that they may not have all the coins they say they have. I thought it was FUD at the moment. Now, i tend to believe this rumors.
The truth is that AC, scam or not, is the propriety of the people who bought them. The wallet is working fine and people who have the coins in their wallet can stake them at the moment.
I think the main reason is that they made their wallets offline just to be on the safe side. That also explains why deposits made after a certain time is not showing up on Cryptsy.
i m not so sure. They let trading run until mintpal decide to delist. They were not afraid to be on the unsafe side. There weren t any problems with the wallet.
And that certainly explain why deposits didn t show after they shutdown it. But even if they wanted to be safe. They could have reopen withdrawals after investigation. And they didn t...
edit: the only true way to have handle it would have been to stop deposits to prevent the premine to be sold, and let trade so the people who wanted out could get out. They are no reasons to stop trading. When they decide to stop trading them, they must let people withdraw if they are honest. Those AC are not theirs

The asiacoin site is regd with enom(maybe namecheap) and europe-coin.com is reg with godaddy
and a different host Europe has http://default.secureserver.net/
