Oh coinwarz...  CGA gets listed, and is ranked the most profitable coin to mine for a bit.  Difficulty spikes, and now it's the least profitable coin to mine (can't even pay power costs).  heh

Would be nice if they used even a 30 min average.

Yup, CGA went from 12th to 10th place just in the past days, so voting really makes a difference.
The only reason we are 3rd on Swisscex is because others dumped a lot of money in the top coins,
buying votes. For example Marinecoin (I had never heard of it before) was suddenly popping up
at nr 2 position with 3800 (bought) votes. Overnight it jumped to 1st position by adding another
4000 bought votes. I have not looked into it, but I suspect that as fast as it rises, it will also fall.
Only benefit is the "bought voting" income for the exchange, the coin will not do well on an exchange
without a community behind it.
We will just continue to vote and get on the exchange with a good support.

Are you using Windows?

If you are, try the following:

1. close down the CGA wallet

2. backup everything (separately and again) in your AppData/Roaming/CryptographicAnomoly folder

3. do step 2. TWICE to different locations (I usually use a USB key for one backup, esp, for wallet.dat)

4. Delete everything from that folder *EXCEPT* your wallet.dat and cryptographicanomoly.conf

5.  edit the cryptographicanomaly.conf file and add 'connect=cga.inceptioncraft.net' (without quotes)

6. re-start wallet and wait for it to synch

7. shut down wallet, remove 'connect=cga.inceptioncraft.net' from your .conf file

8. re-start wallet

Fingers crossed, all OK ...

Edited to add: the Windows question was just for the file locations (I don't know what it would be on a Mac or Linux)

There is NO cryptographicanomoly.conf file in the folder?

Make one using notepad (or something similar) and add these lines:

Code:
server=1
listen=1
rpcuser={whatever you want}
rpcpassword={whatever you want}
rpcport=13932

then do the above^^^ adding the 'connect='

Wallet says 2 active connections now.  Syncing 10 weeks. but is it normal to take so long...its been syncing for a while and still says 10 weeks

If you hover over the synch-ing bar with your mouse it should show the progress in blocks - if that number is creeping up you are OK.

FYI, my wallet has two connections at the moment.

It says "processed 0 of ...."

So there doesn't seem to be anything happening.  What should I do now?

Ok all the pools are back on the right chain, things seem to be back to normal.
I noticed something strange:
I am running the latest wallet (CPU-mining in that wallet)
and the block number was behind compared to the pool.
Then I checked the time and indeed, the 2 or 3 blocks behind in the wallet
corresponded with about 10 minutes old "last block".
I changed the "setgenerate" to reduce CPU load from -1 to 1
and checked that I had enough connections to the network (it showed 8 connections)
but still the wallet did not receive the last blocks.
I believe it showed block 103465 while the pool showed 103467 then 103468
so I shut down my wallet, downloaded the latest wallet again (my PC warned that it was overwriting the same 1.3.3.3 version)
and re-opened the wallet - now it synced without problem.
It could have been a fluke from running on Windows 7 - I don't know. Just wanted to give a heads-up that apparently
wallets are not always 100% synchronized apparently.

also been updated to v. 1.3.3.3 Note: the displayed transaction may be incorrect! You or other nodes may need to be updated. What are my front of the screen should be done to propalon update message and be able to continue production or solo P2Pool?

I have the most up to date wallet too. Same display at the top of the wallet.  And it's been syncronizing with the network, but the time keeps increasing instead of decreasing and showing wrong amount??

Is there anything I need to do?

Shut down your wallet, remove peers.dat file and blockchain (DONT TOUCH wallet.dat), start your wallet back up.

If that does not work: Shut down wallet, emove peers.dat file and blockchain (DONT TOUCH wallet.dat), open up your cryptographicanomaly.conf file and add 'connect=cga.inceptioncraft.net', start up wallet, wait for it to sync, shut down wallet, remove 'connect=cga.inceptioncraft.net' from your .conf, start wallet back up, you should be set

I deleted peers.dat  and there is a folder called blocks, I also deleted it.  Now the wallet is syncing from the beginning but I have not balance? Is this okay?

Your balance should be "re-created" as your wallet synchronises.

Your wallet does not really hold your coins, it holds your private keys which show which blockchain entries are yours.  The coins are only ever *on* the blockchain and your wallet provides the "view" or "access" to your coins.  Until your wallet sees the relevant blockchain entries that represent transactions to your keys it won't show them.

Hope that is (reasonably) clear ... Wink
