Re. Exchanges I think we should have an "agreed" (i.e. decided by s4w3d0ff) target for the next exchange and then work out what it will need to get there.

At the moment we have "vote for this, vote for that" and I think it is diluting our focus.  Plus I haven't heard of half of these exchanges, though maybe that is just me.

Moreover I think we should be aiming now for one of the bigger exchanges.

E.g. If we say the target is to get on Coinedup and it will take x amount of CGA to get on there then we can start to see who is prepared to help, err, donate.

+1!

I also think coinedup would be a great target.

Does coinedup has fees? I can't find any listed on their site. This would be awesome.

Is there a good place to see the historical block rewards and difficulty swings and such? I check the console and sometimes it is at 9 diff and sometimes it is at .9

I wonder if there is a way to automate my miner to mine CGA if the probability of generating an anomaly is high and to mine something else if it is low?

You could write your own script which gets the diff from your cryptographicanomalyd (RPC) and then switches your miner per CGMiner API for example Cheesy

Other question: Is there a way to see my found blocks with 0 reward? I know there is but how do I get them?

Great ideas guys, keep it up.

Getting on Coinmarketcap would be great and very powerful I think.  I'm not so sure about Coinwarz or the other profitability calculators - as you can't accurately predict the return, you can't actually calculate the profitability and so I fear it may be counter-productive.
It may not be necessarily bad to get on Coinwarz now. Anyway, their profitability predictions are never correct - it is always based on the current diff status (and on some history, but this data is available for CGA too). Once a coin takes lead on their profitability list, the popularity of Coinwarz makes many people move to that coin - hence, you never get the profits as described in the moment you saw it - the difficulty rises and the coin will start losing places on the chart.
The tricky part will be that they would have to make some custom implementation for the coins per 24h estimation, but it shouldn't be that hard (again, based on the current status).
If added to Coinwarz, CGA will tend to make more frequent and larger jumps up and down the profitability list, but it will get the mainstream attention it deserves.

Literally the worst idea I've ever seen pitched on this forum.

And the reason being?

This is one of the most original idea for a coin....I don't see how you say this...

I know this is an old post...but still....

Lol I think everyone just ignored this post... I did. I'm almost curious enough to search his other posts and find out what he considers to be a "good idea".

EDIT:
OH LORD! Now I understand why he is such a hater. Cheesy

Christ, people like this exist? A month ago, a dude I know stole 2 wallets, my ADHD meds, and a Nintendo Wii out of my car while we were at a music festival I drove him to. Somehow, Hazard is still the biggest douchebag I've ever heard of.

I have an idea that which I would like to share.
Wouldn't it be good if the algorithm of CGA receives a name? In my opinion this would help with the coin's publicity. The early supporters already see it is a genuine idea, but it would be good if the message of originality can be conveyed by naming it with some catchy phrase. Something like 'Anomaly-based inverse adjustment' or 'Savedoff supply attenuation'.
Anyone likes the idea?

I like this idea a lot! Would be great for marketing. How about:

Relative Anomaly Check (RAC) algorithm.

Relative because it's about the relationship between the current block and difficulty, Check for the 0 or 1 remainder being checked. Anomaly because, well you know.

+100

I guess I will make a contest for the naming of my block reward algo. I'll do that sometime tomorrow  Wink

OSX 10.8.5 Wallet? -> alll versions dl'd so far have failed.

Here are the necessary steps to compile a OSX wallet from source, let me know if you run into any problems:

First you need to get the required development tools for your machine, the first one being Xcode. You can get Xcode5 from the developer app store from Apple for free. But depending on your system you may need an earlier version. Look here for a good guide to help you decide which version you need: http://guide.macports.org/#installing.xcode

Once you download Xcode you will then need macports to install the rest of the dependencies. You can get macports from here: https://distfiles.macports.org/MacPorts/

Once again make sure you grab the correct version for your OS.

Now open up a Terminal window and enter the following to install the rest of the dependencies:

Code:
sudo port install boost db48 qt4-mac openssl miniupnpc git

Git isn't necessarily a dependency but it is nice to have Wink

Then enter the following to clone the CGA source

Code:
git clone https://github.com/s4w3d0ff/cryptographicanomaly.git

Now move to the cryptographicanomaly folder you just downloaded using:

Code:
cd cryptographicanomaly

Once there you can compile your QT wallet with the following command:

Code:
qmake *.pro && make

Go make yourself a sandwich because this will take a while and will take up most of your computers resources.

Once it is done you can navigate to the cryptographicanomaly folder in Finder and you should see a brand new file called Cryptographicanomaly-Qt. You can leave it there or move it to your Applications folder if you like, It doesn't really matter.

Now if you would like the cryptographicanomalyd file you can go back to Terminal (assuming you are still in the cryptographicanomaly folder/directory) and move to the src folder like so:

Code:
cd src

Once there you can enter the following to compile your cryptographicanomalyd file:

Code:
make -f makefile.osx

Go make another sandwich, yum. Once finished you can enter the following command to "strip" your newly compiled program. This will "strip" the extra code you don't need from the program making the size much much smaller (~14Mb instead of around 40Mb) but you don't have to.

Code:
strip cryptographicanomalyd

Your new cryptographicanomalyd program will be in your cryptographicanomaly/src folder. Again you can leave it there or move it to Applications.

These guys: http://www.wheretomine.com/ have already added CGA to their list.
It seems they don't have interface to poloniex, so it just sits there, without any info.

Using extremely rough math, and from the heresay of one user’s experience mining with 3MH/s for one day (and getting 3 CGA), at the current price of approx BTC0.01, mining profitability is ~$19.30 per day @ 3MH/s.

That makes CGA the 8th most profitible coin to mine.  At the current hashrate.  (And you know what it does when the hashrate goes up, right?)

It it were trading at BTC0.015, it would be the most profitable coin in the world.

If the price were just BTC0.005 higher.

 Cool

In the world.

That's amazing. And it gives me an idea: If we get this coin listed on Coinwarz.com, which hosts a mining profitability calculator that a lot of people (including me before CGA) use to determine what to mine next, this coin's popularity would grow immensely.

I think CGA needs to be listed on Coinedup 1st then being on Coinwarz is the next step...  CoinedUp will accept CGA (ahem) donations to list a coin.

s4w3d0ff,  please contact CoinedUp and we will be on our way to Coinwarz in no time.... I will donate to help us get there.

CoinedUp used to be really slow but now it's much much faster!!!  I like it a lot!!!

P.S.  Now that I think about it,  Coinmarketcap will list us if we are with CoinedUp.  Sorry I was wrong!
