Ok. If this is the case, then I have another question:

As of right now, who are the competitors to ActM that will also be manufacturing/designing their own chips?

From what I can gather: Cointerra, ASICMINER, KnC, and I believe Labcoin are all either looking to manufacturer their own stuff, or are already doing so. Who am I missing?

That's why some of us are here...for the huge potential this stock/fund has is.

Handled right it could be one of the big three, handled wrong...they drift into obscurity.
(But the spark of potential is definitely there.)

The biggest factor with all these funds is getting the real goods out of prototype as early as possible.

Please tell me if I'm woefully mistaken on this:

From what I can tell, if ActM hit all their projections, the eASIC deal comes to fruition on time, we start pounding out chips and hardware, adding to our own mining, etc., ActM would almost certainly be a top 3 bitcoin-related hardware/mining company.

Is that wrong?

I know there was some talk about comparison to ACISMINER in here and the Speculation thread, but I've got to believe that having such an apparently capable chip manufacturer as eASIC in your pocket, would have to give you a huge leg up - potentially to a point of drastically surpassing everyone (albeit not forever).

Now, again, this makes some assumptions on the order of what could be called entirely egregious. No matter. I'm interested in the hypothetical.

Big advancements of the graphic end of VMC today, I've been working with another web developer/designer who's been given the go ahead to develop the new VMC website. As of now the new logo has been finished and paid for and the design brief for the rest of the website is in the pipeline, hopefully I'll have more to show when progress is further underway!

Im very excited to see the results! Thanks for your work on this Smiley

I'll have to double check with the other developer if it's alright for me to show it off yet, I'm not sure if he wants to keep the redesign under wraps until it's ready to roll out.

I had a look through your portfolio - a little slim, but overall I really like your style. If the VMC/ActM brand is going to be anything like what you've done with the cards, I'll be pleased.

Thanks a lot, I'm actually a Computer Games student by "trade" so I just do the occasional graphics project on the side, I've been doing a lot to add to it recently though.

Good news everyone!

It will take at least another 50 pages, before you guys realize, it's time to close this idiotic thread and replace it with official announcement ONLY thread.

That means we discuss and the PR guy checks in with news. That's how it works.

Fantastic to hear! Any idea of when we'll get a peek at the logo? Two WeeksTM?

do you think Ken would really use super special "glue" guns from tims hardware store?  No.. it's obviously a joke.  They are not building childrens crafts here..

if anyone was that gullible to fall for that, they shouldn't be investing bitcoins.  They should be focusing on their homework..

Of course it was a joke.  Everyone knows that you don't use a hot glue gun to assemble PCBs - you use staples, because being metal they conduct heat better.

:/

Finally the voice of reason!

If someone bought 12,000 shares based on Stuarts joke, which I doubt, they currently hold 12,000 more shares in ActM and bought them for an amazing price.  It's a win-win.

true, can't disagree with you on that.

just sick of all the bullshit in the "official info stream" for this security.

The tone has been set.  We need to live with it.  It will change when the lull is over and we prepare for take-off!

EDIT:

I'd like to add, there is a reason as to why this thread is corrupted with nonsense and it all stems from the unprecidented ammunt of FUD it has been subjected to.  This security is a real threat to it's competitors because it is the real deal and this is why it has had to cope with a seemingly endless barrage from the fud-brigade.  This has led to a number of highly charged clashes, and those who have stood up to the neighsayers have bloodied themselves in the name of ActM.  It has gotten very ugly at times with even the worst culprits apologising and deleting their own posts.

What this means is we are left with an ActM culture of loose lips and the likelihood of this thread ever finding normalilty is nigh on impossible.

But when we get this eASIC press release things will brighten very quickly.  This spaceship isn't going to the Moon because it hasn't got any brakes!  Grin

Yep but 15Mill held by ACtM so I think these are used in the calculation too? They are not for sale so maybe not.

You can't really factor company-held shares of an IPO as having a value of anything other than their physical assets.  I could start a company with no money, issue 100K public shares for $10 each and 900K company-held shares.  The total value of my company would be $1M, not $10M, because those 900K shares don't represent anything real.  Until I offer them for sale to the public, they only hold a true value of what the company itself is directly worth and don't affect market cap.  If I were to decide to sell off my 900K shares tot he public all at once, the per-share price would fall to around $1 each because at that point it is wholly publicly-owned and the totality of the shares represents the $1M from the investors and what was in the company before, which was nothing.  The share price might rise back up on speculation and as the company shows promise and development, but its day-to-day market cap is only what money people have put into + its physical assets + whatever profit the company has earned.

~10M shares at around $.50 each gives the public portion a cap of around $5M, while the other 25 million shares are valued at (whatever propertie belong to the company / 25M) until they are released to the public, at which point we decide what they're worth by purchasing them and increasing the market cap.

tl;dr: ActM is worth ~$5M plus product that has been purchased plus any liquid Ken has to work with.

EDIT:
I got up early this morning and saw a large volume spike on ACTM, what's the first thing I think? "Wow! I missed an important update!!!"

SO I come here and lo and behold... the rest is history.

Do you realize someone could of bought a million shares expecting them to have prototypes this week, only to learn later that the post was fake?

Anyone that buys or sells shares on "news" from an anonymous internet source that is in no way affiliated with the company without directly verifying that news themselves deserves to lose that money and would (hopefully although not likely) learn a valuable lesson in the process.

Yeah it's great to say this but but people do come here to [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread to get pertinent info about this security, it's part of the process of doing researching with these stocks as WSJ et. al. isn't covering this sector (incase you haven't noticed.)

There have been more than a few people who have taken it upon themselves to contact Ken and then "unofficially" post whatever it is they find out.

Not cool.

Just keep your hats on and let the PR purveyors do their job.

And when the WSJ does pick up on a story they're track record isn't great **cough** Joe Lewis
