It is a prediction that, to be accomplished with satisfactory results, would require a lot of research.
In my opinion, if the less active users are included, this number could be higher than four hundred thousand.

Really? That low for many countries that knew it? A little higher please? I think those who are inactivr should come out and lets start a head count. But the problem is many dont want to be seen or leak even a single information about them.

I think its a serious information if we are going to count the actual number of people who uses bitcoin in the whole world coz some country are not using bitcoin right now and we dont know the reason why and some country where people are polulated of course theres a lot of them are using bitcoin and if are going to create a graph like facebook. Then we need some good developer for this Imo.
Nobody can find out the actual number of bitcoin users. It is simple as that.
Even with thourough research, there are always dormant people that you can not simply count because they are not always using their bitcoins and/or hiding themselves. Still, there is no significant importance of having this data other than statistical research, I feel.
This is the beauty of bitcoin. You can stay anonymous and unknown to everyone unless you yourself want people to know that you use bitcoin

It is a difficult information to obtain, perhaps is possible to get approximations, but with high margin of error. In my opinion, the number is something around 250k users.

I think the exchanges can help with the actual figure

Information from exchanges regarding unique users can give a decent estimate (more than now) as to how many people are trading, but I don't think they will share that information with the outside world. Otherwise they would have done it already I guess. But then again, it will still be an estimate, and nothing can tell us whether or not it's close to the actual amount.

The exchanges will protect the information of all the users. Otherwise, nobody will use the exchange any more.

You are right it is stated in their terms and rules that they will not share your information with any third party so they will not do like that. and they themselves will know the actual number of only those users who will use their exchange while will not know about that how many people are using other exchanges and not of them.

Bitcoin is supposed to be anonymous so we won't ever know how people using it because everyone can use more than 1 wallet so it can't be determined by the amount of the wallet existed. The only way we have to ask people one by one, which seems more like impossible.

It is obviously not possible to roam around the whole world and ask every single person if they use bitcoin or not, who would do such a tiring work? And for what? Just for fun? Just to know if how many people are using bitcoin? Not worth it.

Yeah I know, but we could make some kind of a website to count it. So every people in this world who want to be counted as a Bitcoin user has to join the website and give a signed message of their Bitcoin address, and they also have to give their National id card to make sure that every people just can be counted once. But by doing that is also breaking the anonymity of the Bitcoin user itself.
But I do not think all would participate on that because I know those who are willing to participate are most of the people who are interested for the figures to be use as a tool for whatever business venture they will go on.

The problem is that a person can use many different addresses for bitcoin so there's really no way to know for sure. It would only be an educated guess and I still don't think it could be accurate.

If someone is going to estimate from the available number of addresses and wallets opened for their use then it is impossible even for an educated guess, one of the reason is that people already know that it is just useless to estimate from the number of addresses so they do not waste their time for that way.

The answer to this question is next to impossinle since there is no information availble to base the answer. Theres a lot of Bitcoin address out there but theres also Bitcoin users who uses several BTC address. Same with forums, there are users with multiple accounts.

Is there a way to determine the number of people who are actually using Bitcoin till date? Who would have access to such information? Meaning a way to find out, how many new people have used Bitcoin in 2016 , so that we can say exponential growth is natural not artificially created by hoarders.

There's no way to find out the actual number of people using bitcoin, only the wallet addresses recorded  history in the blockchain or in all exchanges platform.

I'm not naive but just for example, in fact like me is using more than 2 different address for storing my money and you're reason is very true about that it's not about anonymous or another but it's about the chance for every person is having bitcoin address more than 2...

It's hard to give an actual number of people using bitcoin.. but im pretty sure every month there are lots of new users and enthusiasts.. Bitcoin is now widely used in different parts of the world with different business establishments.. Here in our country we can pay our bills, tuition fees, insurance using bitcoin.. as well as purchasing different goods and gadgets.. just an estimate maybe more than 30 percent of business population in the whole world is into bitcoin.. That is a lot of work my friend. No one even bothered to count how many we are. We bloated and got populated so it will be a hard task to count now. I would rather enjoy it now than be stressed with how many people are using it.  Grin
