ADA is so hyped at the moment so we could easily expect a lot of scam website that is related to ADA and cryptocurrency at the moment.

I mean scams are just unstable in the cryptocurrency community and they have so many methods just to scam people on different social media platforms.

So just to be safe if you're in the cryptocurrency market you already know how the scam works here especially in the past year, so we could consider scams as a normal thing here so just do your research.

As a newcomer to ADA , i fell for a scam youtube website .
Using https://cardanoscan.io i managed to trace my ADA to an address that has 140.000.000 ADA.
So lets call this a dirty address.
I found another connected to that with 220,400,019.
So that is 360.000.000 dirty little ada ...  Shocked
Even How you do , nothing that can help you take it back because you have lost it because of your laziness to check differ.

I write to express my wonder when i learned that the scam site business  is rolling a year now , and the cardano community have trouble stopping it.
For  their defense even youtube seems that cant stop those scam videos.
Imagine this was running for years yet you become a Victim , Just be thankful that you are sharing it now so no one will fall from this trap again.

Such scam, not only limited to cardano but other coins aswell, it's just so rampant because people easily fell for it and they make big money just doing scam like that and the sad thing is, no matter how much effort you put to report these kind of scam, they just gonna multiply and appear even more frequently and not to mention that we're in a decentralized space where transaction is irreversable. You just can't expect people to stop it whether the devs or not.

But isnt it too much to ask from newcomers to a crypto to be able to cope with elaborate scam that involves youtube hijacking , (let me remind when you watch youtube you are in a mood to learn , have fun), by displaying videos of public Cardano persons embedded in frames to link to the scam sites, site designed to exploit the general fomo and greed that are the prevailing emotions even to old crypto users?

So isnt theres a  line when propably a community should raise a red flag (with a permanent warning to its main etrance points : main sites , wallets , videos from their public personas etc)? Even if that means a temp price decline?

Is it ethical to promote a crypto  with round and nice images  while you know a major elaborate scam is taking place?

It seems you do not want to take responsibility of your own actions, cryptocurrencies work differently than fiat currencies, if you do not want to get scammed then you should only buy coins in exchanges and leave them there, you are relinquishing one of the most important aspects of this market which is full ownership of your money but you will improve your security by doing nothing, but be aware exchanges can be hacked as well and there is nothing you can do when that happens, it is better to secure your coins yourself but you will have to learn a lot in order to secure your coins better than what an exchange can.

I think no team does as much as  Cardano to fight the scam. Recently they have launched a special anti-scam task force to combat scammers. But as they say "every tub must stand on its own bottom".[1]. So before doing something related with finance  on the page of   any site everyone must thoroughly examine it. Personally, I begin my "financial" journey by studying the site certificate.

You can't really moderate scams.
I saw the reasoning on why scams aren't even moderated here.
It's almost pointless because they're just gonna keep creating their own means in doing another scam.
Buy another domain and just make it look like the usual.
Not sure if that decision of Cardano team would be even worth it. Even to this day, there are still a lot of phishers in my junk email.

Yeah right, there's no stopping as long as there are people who are not careful and still being victimized,

those scammers will continue, it's really on the part of the end users, they are the one who needs to

be more extra careful, never to fall to anything and always check if the sites are legits.

It's on youtube? if it is related to YouTube, you can make a report with clear evidence to YouTube that the account is cheating, but if the reporting is only one person and plus the account already has many subscribers it will be difficult to follow up on the account, try you collect the people who are victims and collect as much evidence as possible, then you make a report to youtube to follow up on the account.

There are really a lot of scams around here at crypto and it is our responsibility not to fall for it. Aside from ADA, there are many scammers taking advantage of different projects just to scam people. If a project got a spotlight in news, I'm sure that in the coming days scammers will use that project to scam people. Even Elon Musk's name was used by the scammers all over Twitter and sadly there were a bunch of people who fell for it. Just being active in this forum could help us to fill our knowledge and get a high chance not to fall for these scams.
Even just using up your own common sense then you would really be able to save up your own ass on getting scammed. If everything sounds too good to be true then it is a scam.
You should really be putting up this common line into your mind and you would be safe.On the topic about ADA then this doesnt only limit out on ADA itself but also in other projects as
well as long there some hype that is currently happening in the market then you can really expect that there would be some follow up scam sites that would really be created.
So you should really be aware on this and to those noobs out there due to lack of knowledge on how this market works then let them on experiencing some mistake because
they would eventually learn after that.

Sorry for you lost, that's why as a beginner, you should really check everything and don't used Youtube, there are many crypto scams running on that platform.

I do hope that you reported that youtube stream so that it will be taken down and no longer victimised crypto enthusiast.

So is there hope? Have other coins had coordinated scam site attacks with that duration and if yes  how did they manage to contain it?

Scammers and criminals have been here as far as I know, the only weapon we have is to educated ourselves, used our common sense and there's no such thing as free coins here. You need to work hard to earn bitcoin or altcoins.

That site probably scammed many people already if its a year old and yes it can’t be stopped easily because of many reasons. There’s a lot of scam site honestly, and those are professional scammers so they know what they are doing that’s why we always have to be careful on clicking any site. If you found any suspicious site, share that here in the forum to spread awareness.

Sorry about that, but it's funny how people believe some things that are way too good to be true, how can an investment site offer you insane APY and you feel it's normal?, I think there's no putting an end to crypto scam as it stands, cuz no matter how hard we try to combat fraudulent activities this scammers just always find a new way to get what they want which is stealing money from their victims, we just have become smart and stop believing all those high returns they always promise us.

There are many platforms like this which I have seen, for people who don't make enough research they will fall for this easily and invite friends and family. They usually tag ADA price which will make many people believe it. I am not sure of such can be stopped.

right now to stop fraud that occurs in the world of crypto is impossible because fraud continues to grow rapidly and strangely enough, many people who continue to believe that such a project can provide great benefits to them and actually they are aware of what the fraudsters are offering not something that makes sense but they still believe, so the only thing we can do to stop fraud is not to be tempted or trapped by what is really offered by them and usually scammers offer something that doesn't make sense like a big profit in time the short one.

There are so many cases of scams in the crypto world that even scammers hack YouTube accounts of famous artists or personalities to promote projects or seek prey so the way to avoid it is to make sure that the information is true and accurate, you or all of us can avoid it if we are really careful.

Even how careful we are with those promotional ads or even social media vlogs, many people tend to be trapped with their contents. So the best ways to get rid of them, is to do a fact check before deciding to invest on their kind of schemes. In a business there's no assurance, but knowing your customer is very important and if you're an investor or part of a certain project campaign, don't hesitate to scrutinize.
It is very common now that cryptocurrencies has good values thus all sort of scams will continue to spring out in a bid to defraud unsuspecting newbies, the OP is an example,  I have read comments here on this forum on how scammers used social media especially YouTube to scam people before the videos is taken down, I had exercised all cautions with anything that has to do with cryptocurrencies on YouTube, they must have scammed a lot of people especially the gullible ones.

You can't simply put it to ignore. Scammers will never stop doing it, that is why we need to have extra careful in visiting sites particularly in accessing our wallet because a single mistake could lead to losing everything we have.

Not only ADA have this kind of scam trick, nothing has an excuse herein crypto.
And it is a good thing you have found it, it is a big help for the community not to fall this kind of dirty tactics by scammers. From time to time, their space will be limited as the awareness never stop.

Scam is inevitable every business, I don't think it's ever going to stop cause they will always be that set of people who do nothing but want something, those set of people don't work to get the money rather they only think of how they can out smart others and move the money from your wallet to theirs, and each day they keep coming out with new ideas that will entice investors , next time try to avoid anything that seems too good to be true, it's always a scam.

Unfortunately, scammers always choose large projects for their purposes. Swindlers see great interest in ADA and in advance come up with schemes for stealing other people's money. It is sad that at the present time we are still forced to face such a phenomenon as cyber fraud. Indeed, it takes a very long time to find the real website address and not transfer money to the accounts of fraudsters.

Be especially careful when choosing an investment, check website addresses and other information about crypto projects very carefully.
