Scammers are just waiting for opportunities, they are well aware in any venue where they can easily grab investment / money

from people who are unaware. It's tough battle but with right knowledge you'll be able to avoid any instances of scams or hacking which is also part of this business.

Taking your time doing your DYOR is really important before taking any deal with same alike schemes.

You can't truly stop scams. You can stop people from getting scammed, once that happens, scams stop spreading.
Agreed, people must have educated themselves through DYOR before try to take any decision. Remember that so many people have been getting fooled by the scammers through various ways.
I should remind you that OP was also doing the same like that caused by he is lack of knowledge. The newbie should be more active in its telegarm group or ask someone who has very good credibility on the group to avoid the scammers. So many scammers and this will never be stopped.

Yes, scandals have spread all over the world. Now the number of scandals is very high. Many people are giving projects of many kinds. People are working on those projects. When the work is over, the people who worked hard and spent time behind the project are not paid.  The scandal is getting a little too much. Bitcoin will be infamous if it continues like this. I hope we will get rid of such scams soon.
Such scams are very difficult to get rid of and will even exist forever, because those who create scams are always looking for new ways to lure people into their strategies, so it will be very difficult to get rid of them.

Luring people who are lazy not to do their homework, they are the most target of those scammers.

First of all sorry for your unfortunate loss and I wish you have learned from this accident, those kinds of scam are quite common nowadays. It's not only shown on youtube but other social media as well and sometimes google ads show the same, before putting your money in any crypto services it'll be wise if you use the logic and your own diligence. However, since you are a newbie then at least ask your friends/community who have more knowledge in the space.

But isnt it too much to ask from newcomers to a crypto to be able to cope with elaborate scam that involves youtube hijacking , (let me remind when you watch youtube you are in a mood to learn , have fun), ~snip~
There is nothing wrong with that kind of thought. The thing is youtube is not a platform that focusing to learn any particular subject nor to entertain ourselves only but this is a worldwide video sharing platform, there are lots kind of videos uploaded every day includes videos that lead to scam one. So you need to put extra awareness if you watching videos that involve financial stuff.

This aren't anything new. How come you still fall for this youtube scam? People have been warning each other for years about those scams. Even few months ago, there was this twitter scam that used the same strategy to scam people and it made it to the headlines. I am sure you invested or sent money over there with a hope of getting back 3x or 4x your amount, right? Don't you understand that those offers are too good to be true?
So is there hope? Have other coins had coordinated scam site attacks with that duration and if yes  how did they manage to contain it?
Scams like this existed for centuries. You can't "contain" it. All you have to do is be smart and don't fall for stupid offers/stuffs.

With that youtube scams you mean the fake giveaways but needs to deposit first before they give it out? Probably youtube can not stop those channels unless you and other users will gonna report the video to stop at least scamming new victims. Then youtube will now then take actions.
Usually, those newbies will be attracted with the "free money".

And scammers will still continue with different tactics, as long as they are victims that fall for this, scammers won't go away. Looking at how huge ADA on that address, many victims were deposited willingly with wrongly belief that they will get double in return.

There are many platforms like this which I have seen, for people who don't make enough research they will fall for this easily and invite friends and family. They usually tag ADA price which will make many people believe it. I am not sure of such can be stopped.
Yes, this is a very serious trap for those who often rush into making decisions without finding out about security or not, so it is clear in this case that a platform that offers something beyond logic is a scam and cannot be trusted.

Another newbie scam. Unfortunate that we keep getting this scam because they are all around trying to catch unsuspecting person. Most especially when a coin gets large community, it opens up room for scam. The YouTube videos we watch sometimes seem to be leading people to believe everything. Remember is only a video, take your time while investing.

As a newcomer to ADA , i fell for a scam youtube website .
Using https://cardanoscan.io i managed to trace my ADA to an address that has 140.000.000 ADA.
So lets call this a dirty address.
I found another connected to that with 220,400,019.
So that is 360.000.000 dirty little ada ...  Shocked

I write to express my wonder when i learned that the scam site business  is rolling a year now , and the cardano community have trouble stopping it.
For  their defense even youtube seems that cant stop those scam videos.

So is there hope? Have other coins had coordinated scam site attacks with that duration and if yes  how did they manage to contain it?

This doesnt only limit out with ADA alone but also in other projects in the market that currently existing and this had been a typical modus of scammers where phishing sites, hacking wallets
and other stuffs this thing cant really be get rid off the only way you can do is to report those youtube channels or websites that are scam and at least those would be taken down

but to expect that they would really make new and would continue the process as long there are noobs who are fool enough to believe with common easy money offering but actually
those are just bait to make people exposed of their keys.

Unstoppable? Yes, but using up your common sense will save up your ass.

But isnt it too much to ask from newcomers to a crypto to be able to cope with elaborate scam that involves youtube hijacking , (let me remind when you watch youtube you are in a mood to learn , have fun), by displaying videos of public Cardano persons embedded in frames to link to the scam sites, site designed to exploit the general fomo and greed that are the prevailing emotions even to old crypto users?

So isnt theres a  line when propably a community should raise a red flag (with a permanent warning to its main etrance points : main sites , wallets , videos from their public personas etc)? Even if that means a temp price decline?

Is it ethical to promote a crypto  with round and nice images  while you know a major elaborate scam is taking place?

Community has done a lot of these from reporting the fake sites, hijacked accounts, etc. but they can not be stopped at all because there is always a loophole in everything, when we reported their fake website and it's taken down, the scammer can make a new one. when we reported the hijacked account that promoted the scam, it got taken down too but they still can use the others. just like in real life, can you stop a thief for good? no you can not.
that is why we need to know what we are doing and be rational at everything.

Uhhh yes OP they're common now these days.
One would even try to get your wallet to get all your precious coins (maybe not all because some of my coins were shit back then).
I wouldn't advise to trust a lot in Youtube even if there were a lot of subscribers or likes.
There's that thing called sold channels, like bot, and sub bot. They're being used by many deceivers in order to scam a lot of people.
If I can recall correctly, there was also fake ETH giveaway back then in youtube.

And the worst part of this horrendous act is that newbies are their target and there will always be a newbie who will fall victim and have an awful experience to take back to his/her none-crypto buddies,  too bad this site can't be stopped, I wish people are aware enough not to fall victim.

Scams are unstoppable in general when it comes to crypto because there is no intermediate in between the sender and receiver so the sender needs to take all responsibility where they are sending their cryptos. But if you know that youtube is promoting a scam site via ads or by the contents itself then you can report it to the Youtube support, when the video received enough amount of report then youtube will take down the contents and channel itself.

And also the address can be reported and can be blacklisted on the exchange if you personally affected by such kind of scams.

The thing is, there really are many scams in cryptocurrencies. It ain't only for ADA but for every crypto. Most of them are into bitcoin and ethereum.

But since the popularity of crypto has increased, any potential altcoin that there will be investors, they're likely to scam anyone as long as there's  a market for that coin.

In fact, if it is related to the YouTube platform, it can be resolved by blocking the deactivation of their YouTube account.
but those who have to do the reporting are the parties who are injured or those who have transacted or parties from Cardano. it will be very influential to be able to freeze or delete the youtube scammer account. of course, by including supporting evidence.

if there will be a lot of users that will report the YT video or the channel itself, i believe YT will take it down or even delete it, if found guilty. so if this particular site is hard to contain, that means, not enough people or no sufficient evidence has been received by YT. those who were scammed should provide concrete evidence so it will be stopped accordingly. we have seen this many times over in bitcoin or eth.

You know there are entire organizations that deal with large fraudulent schemes. They cleverly manipulate channels with 100-200k subscribers on YouTube. I don't understand how they do it, they will probably rename their channel. I saw once as a channel with 220k subscribers, I advertised the XRP doubler, online was about 10k if my memory serves me right.
