BTC, a coin of today and tomorrow.
I am a member on many other popular online forums and I have seen that all of them have a dedicated page listing all the staff members on that forum. The purpose of this can be if a member is having some issue using the forum, he can go to that list and see which staff if online ( if they are showing that in their profile) and then contact him.

Here is unlike other forums. If you have difficulty using the forum, even your fellow newbie can direct you.

The downside to this feature is that staff can be spammed with  lot of messages. This can be handled by allowing only certain rank and above to be able to have access to that page or the option to message mods.
If this is implemented, the reason for having the page is defeated because only the newcomers are likely to run into problems using the forum.

Do you find such a feature useful for bitcointalk also?
Not really, because we have it already and there's meta, BH and TS to handle related cases.

Useful for what exactly?
It's not like I am going to contact each of the staff members for some reason, and most of the forum members won't do it either.
Everyone already knows that forum owner is theymos and most questions are probably going to him, and moderators receive notifications when you report post and/or PM's.

Goodnight, ohh Leo!!! 🦅
Even if there wasn't a dedicated thread written by Tranthidung, a person can still easily see a decent number of the forum Mods just by going to the home page.
Infact, those were the very first things that caught my eye when I got registered in here... Why should we have a dedicated page that would eventually flood into the lots? (Unless it's gonna to be pinned here in Meta)... But again, creating a thread with a long list of names and getting it pinned is so unnecessary.

After all, all mods and admins are listed in the boards they manage, so it’s not hard to find their names and contact them if you have any issues.
Or better still, use the damn search engines. I didn't even realize it's possible to search through with positions, ranks etc. what I seldom do is type whatever name I've got in mind through the Google advanced search engine and that's it! So, I learnt something new today!

For general searching by ranks, I don't see it is too helpful because search results are too wide.
yeah, you're right, also, it seems that it doesn't show every member in the rank that you searched for. I noticed it when I was looking for my username on the list earlier(I also can't see your username on the list after checking it again).

this is really a neat feature, I've been in the forum for a long time and this is the first time I am knowing about this, thanks for sharing.

@OP looks like your question has been asnwered by tranthidung sharing the "search for member" feature". you can also search members by their rank not just whether they are a staff in the forum or not.
This is a feature for searching users with usernames, that is most common use case, but there are two other helpful ways:

This feature doesnt seem too useful to me.  Other forums dont usually have stuff like this either and  members shouldnt need to contact admins or mods directly if they have issues.  Its better to post about problems publicly in the Meta section since the staff checks here a lot.

That’s what makes us unique and helps us stand out compared to other crypto forums as we don’t implement a lot of changes, which keeps users comfortable. In most cases, people only reach out to the admin for serious concerns, as moderators focus solely on moderating posts. They don’t handle transactions or anything related to the value of money, which keeps things straightforward and well-defined.

You can try to see how it can work, until it was disabled.

I try it seconds ago, and I confirm that still works well today.
You can search up the positions you are looking up, "staff" or "Global Moderator" and you will get a list of all users in that position on the forum. You should also disable the 'search by name' option. There are some members with similar names to some staff positions that will show up as well.
Thanks, it really works i did try earlier before I reply to test it with just like you said but i keep the search box empty, and does not work lol, i thought the search box if for username only, now i get it.

Look at each section and you can see the moderators listed that patrol the section. It doesn't show if they are online, but whether they are or not, it doesn't mean they would respond right away. Just send a message and they will help you when they see the message if it is an issue worth responding about.

I'm afraid the search for member feature won't help to identify members from the staff positions, not unless you know their usernames already. Knowing their usernames means, you already know their positions as well.

Not really.

At the moment (besides bitcointalk), I’ve been actively using two other forums, and neither of them has a dedicated page with a forum staff list. Not once have I thought it would be necessary to have one. After all, all mods and admins are listed in the boards they manage, so it’s not hard to find their names and contact them if you have any issues.

Yes, it's very necessary and bitcointalk also have the same feature. In every forum in bitcointalk there is administrator and moderator that is in charge of the process and moderate every activities in the forum and those moderators review every post in the forum and the post is not in line with the requirements of the forum it will automatically be deleted and if any member go against the rules of the forum such member account may be negative tag or ban if necessary.
