Another moderator has appeared on the forum. This is Igebotz. He became a moderator of the Nigerian section of the forum.
I updated OP with a little bit change in the table format: two columns for Earned merits, Sent merits were removed as now I think they are unnecessary columns.

Thank you for your information on a new forum staff.

Congrats Igebotz too!

It's interesting to see the author of some famous books like Matering Bitcoin, Mastering Lightning Network, Mastering Ethereum, The Internet of money, namely Andreas Antonopoulos, has an account here. He was a forum moderator too.
Indeed, it's quite interesting to know the person behind those amazing books was once an active user of this forum, and based on one of his last posts, it appears that the reason behind his gradual disappearance was how this forum was constructed:

I sent him some merit points and hope he comes back.
Our best bet would probably be Epochtalk [if there'll ever be one] Tongue

Also, making decisions in the forum has become less rapid than in the past.
That's the norm when there's more at stake.

By replying in another thread, I searched around and found some Forum Ex-Staffs as follows. It's interesting to see the author of some famous books like Matering Bitcoin, Mastering Lightning Network, Mastering Ethereum, The Internet of money, namely Andreas Antonopoulos, has an account here. He was a forum moderator too.

To be honest, I was surprised. This is the first time I learned about this information. I did not know that aantonop seemed to think that the forum was a place for everyone who wanted to learn Bitcoin. I sent him some merit points and hope he comes back. Also, making decisions in the forum has become less rapid than in the past.

Interesting discovery, with me, in early of 2024.

Great list but looks like 1 very important person is missing. Any place for the founder Satoshi?

No longer active but would be good to see the name somewhere Grin

You can find all administrators in the same way by typing "administrator" in the box.
It is how I found staffs, admins, VIP members and Donators when I made my threads.

@tranthidung: Cryptios needs an update too:
Official confirmation: alanst is not a member of Cryptios anymore.
Thank you Loyce. I knew about that announcement from Cyrus but forgot to update this thread. On it now.

What could be the reason that a staff would be dropped by theymos after being appointed? Could it be related to wrongly handling cases or intimidation of ordinary members?
Mostly is because of inactivity or abandon the forum. It can be from other personal reasons like Dabs.

Forum staffs were chosen very carefully and very less likely they will turn to be scammers. I recall that one forum staff was removed because of scam (it is very far in the past).

With the re-opening of Vietnamese after being blocked for spam, I hope that the Vietnamese language becomes more active now.
I put my time to request unlocking that local thread but sadly local members did not contribute good things there. Only a representative of BitcoinVietnam looks good and I am very doubtful that Vietnamese guys will be actively in that thread. They are very early Bitcoin adopters in Vietnam.

It seems mitzie is not a staff anymore. Also, He is inactive for the last five months. Can you please confirm if he is still a Mod? You may want to update the list as well.

No, mitzie is not a moderator at this time. By the way, any user can check the list of moderators at any time. It is enough to go to the memeber search page, enter "staff" in the box and select the "Search by position" option. As a result you will get a list of all moderators. You can find all administrators in the same way by typing "administrator" in the box.

There could be various reasons, and everyone's issue might be different. Some may be stepping off at their own request due to personal matters. Of course, no one here to explain unless theymos or the Ex-Mods want to explain why they were dropped from the position. It's possible that they were not active enough, so the admin has to remove them. There are still some Mods who have been offline for over a month still they are Mod. So, I guess it's not a big issue.

Wangbus has been inactive for a year and still holds the position. So, it's understandable that theymos doesn't remove someone without talking to them. @tranthidung, It seems mitzie is not a staff anymore. Also, He is inactive for the last five months. Op, nice to see this thread. It will be nice you remove the rows for earned and sent merits because it is not being updated by you. I also think that the merit information is not actually necessary. Maybe when the post was made, merit system was newly introduced.

While some local board still do not have their own moderator other than the global moderator assigned there. It might be good to get some new names there to moderate their respective local board sections, such as India, Nigeria, Nederlands and other active local board. Definitely this will reduce the workload of global moderators in my opinion.
Wow!!! 100% supported. Frankly speaking we are in dire need of a moderators, and also Merit Sources in the Nigeria Local Board. Thanks you very for bringing up this notice in this thread, we have been agitating on this matter in the local way though we have not broadcast it in the general or the public boards. Therefore i, on behalf of other meaningful Nigerian in the forum to ask Cyrus and theymos and other reputable personalities from the Global Arena to look into the request of moderators and Merit Sources in the local board. Once again thank you.

That's an excellent opinion you just gave @ Blackstar, and it will be a great pleasure seeing that put into fruition anytime soon, as that will definitely lift a certain amount of workload from our respective global moderators.

It's time to bump this thread with an updating information about one of our staffs.

Xal0lex was assigned additional task to moderate threads in Other languages.

He informed me about it today.
Right, I can see his name there. With the re-opening of Vietnamese after being blocked for spam, I hope that the Vietnamese language becomes more active now.

Bitcoin Forum > Local > Other languages/locations (Moderators: Cyrus, Xal0lex) > Việt (Vietnamese)

Farewell, Leo. You will be missed!
phantastisch can also be safely removed from the list of staff members. It was mentioned previously in the thread that another user has taken over moderation of the German local board. Also, phantastisch hasn't been active on Bitcointalk since September 08, 2019.

@franckuestein hasn’t been a mod for over a year now. He was the mod on the local Spanish board, but due to inactivity, @Welsh kindly stepped in to act as the local mod on that board. I see @Csmiami pointed it out previously on this thread.
