Being a new member of this forum, I will like to have more clarification and advice, and I will also like to know if there are any PDFs or any sources that I can be directed to study more in order to not offend the law of the forum and avoid any penalties or having my account banned. I will be glad to have many pieces of advice for other members of the forum.

Welcome mate, I don't have anything to say because whatever I want to say here, my seniors have already told you. But my little advice to you is to abide the rules and regulations of this community so that you can live in peace.

You have to avoid plagiarism and also don't spam the forum with phishing links because that can result in you being easily banned from the forum.
One of the offenses that's common among newbies is plagiarism. Even after warning them and sending the link to the forum rules and regulations, they will still end up committing the same offense. I don't really know what's difficult about adding a source link after copying a post from somewhere. A higher percentage of people committing plagiarism are newbies. They know it's a great offense, but I don't really know why they can't avoid it.

There is another offense that I notice is beginning to be common on forums now, which is AI posting. Most people are beginning to use AI to post, which is very wrong. I don't know why they can't share their own ideas, and they prefer to use AI to post. Anyone using AI to post is just posting on forums because they want to make money, and they are not doing it because they want to learn, so newbies and other ranks should stay away from using AI to post on the forum.

Upon how lenient and easygoing the bitcoin talk forum is, I have seen some newbies complain that there are so many rules and here is very much unfriendly and they will eventually quit the forum.

This is basically how stuff seems to be for almost every newbie, I have someone who felt the same way when I introduced him to the forum and until a particular point where he became conversant with the forum rules, while the other one thought the rules were too much for him to comprehend and he left the forum. Even you would see newbies that find it difficult to navigate the platform.

Finding yourself in a new place might be challenging, but the first step you took to familiarize yourself with the forum and its rules is a good one. If you follow these rules, using the forum is straightforward and uncomplicated. They don't compromise in forums, so be extremely careful how you act. Some of the advice I want to give has already been given, so I advise you to read the links carefully and make sure you understand everything. If understood correctly, I think that one day you will be the one helping anyone who needs more information on this subject. Thank you very much.

There are a lot of topics or threads about the forum like this here Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ And a lot more topics that could help you here in the forum. I mean there are pretty obvious things that you dont want to do here because that could easily ban your account here something like spamming, plagiarism, AI generating something like that. You're going to learn over time here if you're active on your account, there was no easy way to learn but to study the rules. Also at the same time start your cryptocurrency journey because that is just the main thing here in the forum to help you on your cryptocurrency journey and maybe you could share your experience as well.

There is a lot more stuff like ranks, campaigns, reputation, merits, etc. that is important here in the forum. But I suggest just go on in your cryptocurrency journey and ask the forum if you need some help or learn here in the forum so that you can easily earn a good amount of profit at learn how to invest. There are no hard rules to follow. By exploring and learning what’s inside the forum, you will learn eventually the do’s and dont’s. Do your own research before posting. Do not plagiarize and do not spam. Just as simple as that. If you think you are not crossing those lines, then there’s no need to worry. Just be yourself and just enjoy every minute in the forum. That’s the only way you will learn a lot.

Welcome to the forum.
There are no hard rules, there is no segregation in the forum. Just like other online groups, read the rules that is being shared to you above. Also read the sticky post on each boards so that you will have an idea of what is needed in that very board.
Avoid sharing random and malicious links to the forum and also avoid plagerism. If you copy anyone's work, it is good to reference the person in order not to be banned. Discover your passion and enjoy the forum.
Certainly, no hard and complicated rules if you know how to follow in the first place. And to be honest, just like any forum rules, stick to your own content of your post and never imitate other member's post. Have your own originality so you won't end up plagiarizing and get banned later on. My only advice is to never stop learning in the forum. As much as you can learn from other people's posts, they may also learn from your own post too. Rules are rules, never break them no matter what.
Upon how lanient and easygoing the bitcointalk forum is, I have seen some newbies complain that there are so many rules and here is very much unfriendly and they will eventually quit the forum. When I see this set of newbies, I will laugh out loud at there act. If you say that some of the newbies do have unfriendly welcome by the established members, I will agree with you but that is just in rare cases when the newbie tries to show off even when they have nothing to offer, when there is a clear sign of scam that wants to emanate from the newbie.

It is very difficult for an honest newbie to be attacked by established members. Besides what-so-ever attack they may have, what they needed to do is to develop a thick skin, which I was told when I was a newbie and I developed it which was exactly what help me to escape what I perceived as my had beginning.

There's nothing really complicating about this forum... it'll only be when you fail to follow the simple rules we've got - and, the most simplest of all - "Avoid plagiarism with all cost if you must stay long in here"
There are no maneuvers to escaping the tragic penalties when this grand rule is broken...  Secondly, you need to read your way up to the top - never you begin to see this forum as some sort of money heist; that'll be the beginning of your nonfeasance. Do whatever it'll take to gain the right knowledge; for knowledge equates merit.

Welcome to this amazing forum. I must say that you're among the most intelligent new users because only few of the new users want to know about the rules of the forum. You don't need to read any PDF's to know the rules of this forum the only link to the rules of the forum is the one below.

Rules

Just read the rules by clicking on the above link and you're good to go. Just be a nice user and try your best to contribute to the forum in a decent way. You won't get any problem if you follow those rules, and I hope that you'll abide all of the rules mentioned in that post.

A piece of advice:

Don't rush things, never think that you need to earn Merits, you have to become a good poster very soon so that you can gain a higher rank and start earning money from the forum through signature campaigns and stuff, that's not the right approach. Just take things very easy, focus on learning more initially, try to read more than writing and write only when you think that you have got something extra to add to a conversation or a discussion.

A lot of newbies make the mistake of doing plagiarism just because they think they can get Merits or appreciation if they post constructive messages copied from other members of the forum but that isn't right, it can get your account banned and that will almost end your journey on the forum in a blink of an eye if you are caught copy-pasting material either from this forum or somewhere else.

Welcome to the forum, and good luck for the future.

Just obey what others have said and read the links which they have provided then everything will be fine for you. And for the clarification side, the forum was created by Satoshi Nakamoto to discuss bitcoin related matters. So all what you have to do is to read bitcoin materials and navigate the forum. And also avoid anything that will make you to be tagged and ban.

Avoid merit hunting. Merits will come when you comment and create quality posts/thread. You are welcome to the forum. Always humble yourself to learn.

Check the pin threads on this board to check all the official rules and guidelines in this forum. In addition, you can also utilize the search bar function found on the upper right hand of the forum should you have any questions/inquires regarding a certain topic.

Most of the rules in this forum are simple enough to follow. If you think that what you are doing is wrong, then your intuition is right- avoid all means of plagiarism and avoid integrating chat GPT replies on threads as this will contribute to spamming.

As such, welcome to this forum! You will definitely learn a lot during your stay here and may your cryptocurrency journey start anew!

If I'm not wrong, the search in the forum can be a bit frustrating for brand new members because of the restrictions for these members. But the most important links have already been quoted, so the OP shouldn't have any problem by reading the threads they point to.

If the newbie is having a problem using the forum search function, they can just search a topic on google search with bitcointalk at the end of the question. The google search then prompt the list of topic in bitcointalk that is related to the question.  Just like this one:

Btw, welcome to the forum @OP if you have questions, try to search the forum first, and if you failed to see them then you can create a thread and ask away.  Many of the members here will gladly answer anyone's question to the best of their knowledge.

You have to avoid plagiarism and also don't spam the forum with phishing links because that can result in you being easily banned from the forum. The forum is a community full of different people from different countries around the world, and you should be aware that everyone has different opinions about every topic that is shared. You could get criticised for some of the topics or replies you share here, so you will need to develop a thick skin to be able to withstand some criticism. You can also identify with your local board; there you can also get good guidance from experienced memeber in the same country as you who speak the same language.

Welcome to this BTT forum OP.

Actually, the rules in this forum are very simple and not too complicated to comply with.

• Likewise, don't make posts or replies that are spam in nature
• Don't make posts from copying and pasting from other sites or platforms (meaning that all the contents of the post don't have the original writing)
• Do not write (posts or replies) that contain elements of crime or hate speech.

So, in my opinion, these three points are the basic points that must be strictly adhered to. Because there are still other rules that you need to learn in this forum.

Because actually if you carefully read each of the threads listed when you enter this beginner & help board, you will definitely see a thread entitled about the rules that beginners must read.
Examples include the thread below

> Newbies - Read before posting

For further details, you can open the thread and read all of its contents.

I have never found anyone who has drafted the rules of this forum in downloadable PDF format, but don't worry you can always read the rules that apply easily because the forum rules that must be obeyed have been pinned on the beginner's and help board by the moderator.
Because forum rules can be updated with time.

The topic Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ writes that rules are officially applied but that list is unofficial one.

Theymos is flexible and can change rules when he sees it's good to make changes. Forum global moderators and admins have their own interpretations, case by case, when applying rules.

You need advice on how to behave on the forum? Be yourself. Well, others have provided links to help you further understand how we work here but personal advice? Read more than you make posts because that way you can be able to contribute intelligently other than spamming and missing the point of conversation.
When you make your posts, if the ideas are not yours try to provide a link so you won't be banned for plagiarism and also, others can be able to read more and get info about what you are talking about. Another thing that can guarantee your growth is your consistency; try not to be a one off person or disappear at the first sight if criticism because that way you not just learn newer things, but also your reputation grows.

Everything I learned I learned on my own. Yeah OP might be able to get to know the forum via the links which other provided. But I think self learn also important. That's why we shouldn't rely on others. Rather we should scroll down a bit, got to different board and try to understand what is happening. I totally agree it can sometimes be frustrating. But what I meant by my post is simple; every questions answer you seek is there. (The search bar)
I know what you mean pretty well. more beginners will act as you suggest, and maybe the Beginners & Help board will start to reduce the activity of beginners a bit which tends to be repetitive.
but somehow I have more respect for beginners who ask questions on the forum than for them to go the wrong way by violating the forum rules. and we must always be grateful to anyone who patiently replies to questions that may have the same topic.

Well to be honest, you are correct too & I totally agree. We need people who are not afraid to question. & look OP successfully posted his/her first post without violation any rules. It's a really big achievement. When I first joined this forum I didn't even knew what BBcode was! Now look at me I'm pretty good at it. Everyday I'm learning something. It doesn't matter whether it's big or small. You just have to be keep learning & have that determination.

The issue is not about receiving advice the main issue here is; will you read and put them into action? I have seen so many users come to the forum and ask the same questions and got good responses like, don’t spam, don’t plagiarise read the forum rules etc and before they spent a month in the forum their account got ban from plagiarism.

If you can take your time to follow the advice that has been provided here you’ll be able to get the best from the forum but if you pay a fldeaf ear to the rules and think you can get away from breaking the rules you’ll only end up regretting it. So just keep it at the back of your mind that if you ever go against the rules of the forum you’ll surely get the punishment no matter how long it takes it will surely come out.

If I were a stats freak I would investigate how many of these accounts that want everything handed to them on a platter instead of investigating themselves make it far in this forum. I would bet that the percentage is very low. How often do we get questions like this? Weekly at least. I have been and still am a member of other forums and I never see this question asked on them. I imagine the economic component in this one is what accounts for it.

OP, I too welcome you to the forum but my advice is to search for yourself, be self-reliant, and if you have to ask specific questions ask them after you have done some research.

Good thing you want to know more about the forum first before any other thing because the mistake most newbies make when they join the forum is not get familiar with the forum, they just feel once you are a member you can do whatever you wish and they assume there are no rules guiding the forum. There are rules here and there are some things we all avoid here that are not tolerated and once you break those rules things will not be taken lightly with you so try to follow the rules of the forum.

Just as mk4 mentioned, avoid spamming, avoid plagiarism (copying and pasting of other people's work) from within or outside the forum and don’t try to scam other users. there are several rules so you just have to abide by them. I can see other users have shared you some links already that contains rules and some and other information about the forum so make sure you read them carefully.

The rules have been linked above.

But to summarize: don't spam, don't plagiarize, and don't do dumb stuff in general. Done. Bitcointalk isn't some extremely-formal organization/company whereas you have to follow very strict and ludicrous rules. It's just a typical online forum — just with people that likes to talk about Bitcoin/crypto.

Hey! Welcome to the forum.

Everything about rules can be found in this thread, Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ. No, there isn't a PDF for you to read. The thread does gives you an idea as to how to proceed..
