A cautious whale and a retarded dolphin both smash into the ship with the same amount of force.  Wink.

I bought as much Aeon as Ver holds Bitcoin, but nobody calls it RogerCoin.  I like Aeon, and intend to be active in its growth and development over the years, nothing more.  My holdings only serve to show my resolve in the matter.

Based on the distribution chart on Bittrex someone holds 400k aeon there. Reading this thread makes me think it may be you. Why not move it to an offline paper wallet? I highly doubt Roger Ver would hold even 1% of that in an exchange long term.

Hi again. Last I checked, you can buy some more AEON at ~2500 sats again. Smiley

It's looking like a great time to buy... lot's available at sub-1-penny prices.  I've been raiding the coin jar...

pegasuscoin? first i have heard of that.
Yeah, although the previous ascent tripped over a little. I think the whole 'PegasusCoin' thing scared away a lot of the major investors.

American Pegasus rather quickly and loudly bought a lot of AEONs. It drove the price up quite a bit, well beyond what is sustainable given consistent demand, so far. I'd be scared to buy at those prices too.

On the other hand, he's not really a whale by broader definitions. It is just that the coin is small. So his buy does give some idea what larger buys could do, if they were to happen.

Hey guys, how much AEON do you suggest holding?

Like with Monero it is suggested to have 0.1%...what do you think?

As much as possible Smiley

Seriously, at the moment the monetary value of AEON is so low that it would be hard for any non-destitute person to overcommit. The emission is something like 0.2 BTC/day.

That said, it is a small obscure coin that may never amount to anything other than contributing some patches back to XMR. So "no more than you can afford to lose".

Also, I'd suggest solo mining, both as a way to slowly but steadily gain coins and as a way to help decentralize the network and make the coin (and your investment) more viable. You can get a block (30+ coins now) a day on a decent desktop.

Hey all, remember how we were discussing the ideal way to govern a body?

We specifically highlighted the problems and failures with individual democracy and representative democracy, and boom - this kid apparently ran with it and made a fantastic proposition.

Perhaps it's not perfect yet, but this is a GREAT idea.  Introducing Liquid Democracy:

This is fantastic.

If we can somehow incorporate this into Aeon we will be right on the money. I note that the author has hinted this system will be incorporated into Ethereum. Let's do this the right way with Aeon.

I suppose the first step would be to map out the operative categories / domains.

Good find americanpegasus.

Could just use the on symbol. A variation of a circle with a vertical line or other circle in it.

I have no doubt that calling it aeon will be dropped for something easier on the mouth. Tripple vowels with a diphthong... I bet it will be eventually called "on"

americanpegasus, so you offered 6 options in your voting, disregarding other options. Sort of like the democrat and republican option, while every other option doesn't get mentioned in the media. Smart but tricky.

You're almost a part of a cartel here, so it makes sense.

Nobody is voting really. It is just a discussion.

I like 2 the best, but don't like the sharp corner on the 'e'. I think someone posted a week or two ago about having the 'a' just flipped over to make it completely symmetrical, I think that would look better...I think.

Alright, everyone take a look at these and for anyone interested - let's rank them 1 - 6.  In this way we can at least narrow down which are most interesting and can finalize a design based on that.

Based on informal feedback from many people, surprisingly a *lot* prefer the very first one, even though I was partial to the second.  I know it doesn't hit the symmetrical spot that was being toyed with for a while but everyone I asked agreed those lines just all jumbled together and weren't distinctive at all.  So pretend it was between these; how would you rank them?

For me, I would have to say 1, 4, 2, 3, 5, 6.

The first one is distinctive enough that it sticks with you despite looking strange at first.

To be fair, all of them should have the same background.

ps: Because I think we should just polish the current logo.

pps: Don't forget that the name of the game is not Logoing , it's Branding. I know this is lame but there is SO MUCH you could do with the current logo. It really is the most versatile of the options...

I agree with this everything rangedriver said although I'm not terribly happy with the Monero result. I think it is just okay. I hope saying so does not discourage the effort, because there are good concepts being developed. I don't think there needs to be a big rush on it in any case.

In terms of ranking the concepts I like 4 and maybe 3. 2 has potential but not quite there yet. I don't really see what people like about 1 but I do acknowledge that people like it.

I still wonder if there is too much focus on the æ concept itself. The name and symbol do not have to match a logo.

For me i like 2,3,4,1,5,6. Although when i keep looking at it 3 keeps grabbing my focus.
