^  The typical opening for a Terran player playing vs a Zerg player is to go double barracks at the start and pump out marines as fast as possible while teching up to get some medics and fire bats out there plus the stim pack and long range upgrades.  It's also very important to get the scan add on for the command center.

Here's the vid of Rush vs Hero with Artosis and Tasteless at the commentary.

ASL 16 Quarter Final Match1 Rush vs herO
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mbs6PpnHmVM

Next vid will prolly be up in a couple of days.  I won't spoil the results but you prolly already know who Rush's opponent is at the semis.

Thanks for the video I was surely learning but still not as good as the guys in the tournament for sure the technique and strategies you can not think that it is possible for an old game like Starcraft it was surely interesting for competitive starcraft, and that Typical Strategy with the Terran for sure was the Barracks start-up for sure after hearing this and seeing the fights of Rush and hero it was really a great fight for sure at least I got an idea on how to play Zerg now I also got an idea and strategy on how to play as Terran as well, so it was some knowledge regarding the start-up of the fight for sure it is surely an interesting strategy,

Looking at the tournament itself I see that Soulkey won against  JyJ and it was an interesting game as well it was another Zerg vs. Terran game but for sure the next game I think the game today was Terran Against Protoss, and actually I also want to see the strategy for the Protoss as well, and it is Sharp against Mini this time,

Nice! For sure you won today's game and the streaming was finished I missed the game for sure but surely Rush will go into the Semifinals, here is the update for the tournament chart,

For sure the game was really interesting even though I still haven't watched it yet, my mind was just flying on what had happened with the game how the Terran defeated the Zerg, and how Rush dominated the game against a Zerg player hero because I know that Zerg is pretty much a difficult match-up for the Terran I surely want to know what strategy did Rush do because Zerg players can be aggressive and greedy in attacking with a Zergling troops for sure this is what most Zerg's do but maybe Terran build a barracks early on with the Zerg's mining field, but a hunch, but maybe will wait for the video so I can surely watch it,

^  Yup..  Here's the brackets for quarters, semis and the finals.  Quarter finals are Bo5 games, while the semis and the final are Bo7 games

My picks from each of the match ups are Rush, Soulkey, Mini and Action.  NFA but I might make a small bet on Rush, if I win that I drop everything on Soulkey tomorrow.  Grin  So I hope I win the first bet.

And it's nice to see Rollbit have a market for it now.  So I guess I'll post that here instead of Stake's lines.

Anyway, event starts in around 25 mins.  Have fun and good luck to the one follower of this thread.  Cheesy

^  Lol.  No need to 'build' a PC for a very old game.  Any decent hardware would do.  What you need to buy is a gaming mouse and a nice keyboard...  It doesn't have to be one of those keyboards with special key caps.  Most keyboards would do.  But yeah, gaming mouse is a must.  It just makes everything feel fast and accurate...  Makes it easier to micro.

I'm watching Ro16 Group C now.  No bets tho.  I lost some money with Adesanaya being on top of all my parlays.  Lol.  I thought I was gonna have a decent night.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

You will be surprised by the level of PC that I got and it is already broken so never mind about it, I was just borrowing a laptop so I am going to assemble my own so instead of getting a lower spec one I am thinking of building a PC that is high-end, and everyone surely loves a high-end PC right, well actually playing starcraft in this borrowed laptop but eventually, this one will be used Soon by our student for school purposed but the high-end that I will be building will be for gaming and work-related,

Well, back on the AfreecaTV StarCraft League Remastered Season 16 Tomorrow September 18, there will be a game for the tournament Rush (Terran) vs. Hero (Zerg) in this match Rush dominated Group B 2 - 0 while hero was 2nd place in Group C with 2 - 1 for sure it could be Rush that may win this match, but I can not say for sure as Zerg can immediately spawn Zerglings to destroy those tactics of Terran so this is an interesting match and could be apply on an actual game,

Those are written really well and emphizes the build order from start to finish for each strat and for each race.  Enjoy.  Wink

Anyway, the betting market for Round of 16 is up at Stake.

Rooting for Calm to win his first match.  He's somewhat a huge underdog, almost paying 4 to 1 for your money...  Don't do as I do and don't do as I say.  Grin

WOW! Thanks to these strategies I will surely look for some combo and surely the Zerg has the ability to rapidly increase the Zergling so much that you can surely do a Zergling rush, sure disrupt your opponent gathering and strategy I was having a ton of fun with the Zerg for now and Sorry was busy playing it on the laptop maybe I would build a PC so I can play it on my wide Screen I think this is a great game if we have a widescreen monitor ready for this all I need was a great build on a PC for sure,

Actually, because I was busy I didn't make a bet on the tournament and I didn't monitor the tournament on who had already won or who made progress with their wins,

^  The best map for learning is a stock map in the game called The Lost Temple.  It's one of the best maps for 1v1 games back in the day and was one of the favorite maps among pros.  So yeah learn to play in that.

And the easiest race to play is Zerg.  At least for me.  Go search for a guide for Zerg build orders online.  It's easy and when you get a hang of it, you could learn other more advanced stuff like which tech trees to go for in game.  I'm telling you, SC/BW is the only game that got me hooked.

Anyway, here are a couple more vids from Tastosis.

Round of 16 next week!  Rooting for the new guys, Calm and Killer to go next round.

Great Recommendation with the map it is kind of the Center Ring from Battle Realms if I am not mistaken, for sure I will learn in playing on that actually canceling all modifications and will play the original design, and for sure The Lost Temple is one of the maps that is easy to be remembered,

Actually, I like the design of the Protoss, They are a more advanced alien tech kind of design and it was crazy playing it for sure, While I am still really confused with the Zerg, but for sure will definitely try it out next time, searching for an advance tutorial on how to play the Zerg,

And nice game Group C's first game was Zerg VS vs. Protoss and watching it was really great I kind of liked learning the game at the same time while watching that game, it was really entertaining so thanks for the share,

^  I was gonna give you another merit for saying that you wanted to learn more about the game but since you also said you were also interested in playing SC2, well...  No merits for you.  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy  StarCraft 2 doesn't exist in my universe.  Lol.  Grin

I mean seriously, try learning the basic mechanics of SC1 and after having some decent skill playing it, go try SC2.  You'll get what I'm saying.  There's just no comparison.

Cheesy I surely wanted to play both but because I surely don't know the basics of the 1st game I will 1st master the old game for sure before going into Starcraft 2 It is, well You are right in saying that I should go with the basic 1st before anything else that is and yes there is no good one but the 1st Starcraft game for sure, Sorry I was busy with something and can't visit this thread more often and I surely missed the games but I have watched the replay,

...  And Sharp did pull an upset vs Jaedong.  I think Jaedong was lined at like 1.35 or something.  I don't how the books lined him so deep vs a somewhat decent Terran player.  Maybe 10 years ago, I'd agree with the line.  But now?  Pffft.  That's highway robbery.

And owengtam09, here's are a couple of replays with the best commentary you'll ever find.

There's more coming as the tourney progresses.  Wink

Thanks for this and watching it now and searching for the games but surely I still can not understand what they are doing because I was still working on studying the game for sure and they are using 7 maps in this tournament, but how many maps do the Starwars have? actually, I didn't count it but watching this video I was curious if they have more than that, I am not giving many important details for sure but It is an added bonus to try all of the maps for sure, actually I was interested when they are starting the game and mining crystals but building your 1st build was really exciting, and you know that both you and your opponent doesn't have much and scouting your opponent is not really the priority but I was shock that you can do this to navigate your opponent easily,

Here are the results of groups D to F.  A couple of surprises here as two of the most consistent guys who proceed to Round of 16 are out, ZerO and Light.  And Ample, a guy who isn't really that good of a player beat one of the best Zerg players in the tourney...  Twice!  Lol.

So yeah...  On we go to the Round of 16.  Group selection and the draw will be on August 28.

Here's the replay for Group C with Artosis and Tasteless.  Enjoy...

^  Not sure about some branch of the company.  But I checked Blizzard's site and it looks like the removed the free download of the SC/BW anthology prolly a few months after the released StarCraft Remastered.  It's still the original game but with slightly improved graphics.  They sell it cheap for 14 bucks.  That's like just a couple of coffees from Starbucks.  Lol.

Anyway, Groups D to F are playing this week!  And as far as leans go, I'd go for Light ZerO Bisu and Action.  And I feel like Sharp could pull the upset.  Jaedong is erratic at times.  Check the betting market at Stake to see the lines.

^  Yup and it helps if you play the game yourself and learn the build orders and stuff.  I think you could now download the original SC/BW anthology for free.  Not sure but akaik it is since Blizzard release StarCraft Remastered.

If you really want to get deep into it a bit more but you don't know where to ask questions about the game, TL.net is the go to forum.  Some of the guys over there have been there for years...  It's really impressive to have that kind of motivation.

Thought I had seen some one mention about this 25 year old game. And to hear they are having professional tournament based on it was pretty unbelievable to hear.
You can receive the whole anthology for free from blizzard? Although I thought they went defunct years ago.
They probably still have some sort of branch of the company still inoperation just under a different name.
Such as what happened to CD Projekt RED after cyberpunk and getting reassigned to another company.

Actually, for a newbie to the game, I surely have some basic ideas on how the game works but I am not that well knowledgeable with some faction's resources and line requirements for a certain unit, most of the time not reading what to do led on the worst decision and scenario's but surely that was back then when I was just a student, my classmates were very busy playing it while I was just watching the game and don't really have any idea what is happening and I felt curious about it back then, all I learned back then was how to attack and who to attack, my classmates said that the different color-coded units are the enemies, but you can also put some allies in the game,

It was really fun maybe I will download the whole expansion in a free sharing site to play the game then when I am well verse with the old version maybe going into the Starcraft 2 is my next target, well thanks for the advice I really like this conversation it brings back memories of my past,

^  They never played any mod.  Everything they did was what they thought was the coolest because they fan boy'd over what the popular progamers did at the time.  So what they did, I tried to copy...  Stuff like build orders and timing attacks.

This channel is updated faster.  The commentary isn't really good tho.  I'd rather watch the Korean livestream even though I don't understand Korean that much.  There's just more excitement.

https://www.youtube.com/@StarCastTV

But if you can wait, it's better to watch it with Artosis and Tasteless' commentaries in AfreecaTV's channel.  They usually upload it later but it's worth the wait.

Group C winners...  Both underdogs won their first matches.

So we got two new faces getting into the Round of 16.  Calm and Killer, both Zerg players and both looking good.

Oh! That is OK I was just going to ask if you played the modded one as well, but surely modded is not for the tournament for sure, but for me, this is just my take on the Gundam modded Starcraft it is awesome but surely if you are a starcraft avid fan you would like your game to not be modded at all, this is just my take on the Modded game version,

For sure many have tried the move set and strategy of pro gamers on their own game, and sometimes you are probably proud that you have made the unthinkable and accomplished 1 of that gameplay,

Thank you for that link, but even though I want an updated version, it will surely do I think I will study those teams and the gameplay of those available players, this is still a great watch and review for sure,
