Egypt was starting the tournament with 3 win on group phase but unfortunately they were lost in the knockout phase however i had read some of article regarding Egypt team and they says Egypt fail was benefit for Liverpool because Mo Salah can immediatelly went to Liverpool earlier because Egypt was eliminated
I always am wary of teams who get a perfect group stage in any tournament, club or international. Of course if they do it with a gulf of talent in between them and their opponents, it's a different thing, but sometimes you need to get a losing streak out of your system, or peak late. Morocco and Egypt got a perfect start and then stumbled and are out.
Look at South Africa and Benin, both qualified as a best 3rd-placed team from group stage, got their defeats out of the way and yet managed to knock out tourney favourites Morocco and Egypt. Nice huh?
Seriously, this is a wonderful string of results for the neutrals, even Madagascar is having a fairytale debut. No one will begrudge either team for progressing on penalties either, since they both did well in normal time!
I'm still backing Senegal to win this outright, but let's hope a few more upsets happen in QF because I'll be backing them!
