I'm surprised this has happened actually. I assumed they'd be forever ordered by our friend Roger to not accommodate BlockstreamBorgLizardAxacoin in any way whatsoever.

Still, their wallet will likely never, ever, ever get Segwit.

Lateness to the party is allowed and its one of the features of blockchain.com and this is not different which is the reason why other wallet explorers have really gone ahead of them. I could remember in that same 2017 when there is split for the bitcoin cash, they contributed to the panic as people who have no understanding of the crypto market were in limbo while some eventually had to withdraw because they were not sure blockchain.com would credit them their bitcoin cash. Eventually, they did but after a lot of people had moved on, claim their bitcoin cash on other platforms in a seamless manner at that. The moment SegWit became operational, of the sites to enjoy it with the innovation that comes with it, I wrote off that platform as one to look out for.

The explorer also doesn't show up input data as explained in this quote :

they actually changed that too! now the transactions show all the input and outputs even if it doesn't belong to your address anymore.
that feature wasn't actually a bad thing if you ask me, it shortened the size of the data they showed you and you could see a very simplified view which is why i liked it in first place. then there was the "advanced view" option at the bottom that you could use to see everything.
now it shows everything by default and the page becomes too big for those addresses that do a lot of consolidation or make lots of payments with one tx. and it is annoying!

I don't think blockchain.com explorer is that bad , but it would be better to avoid using it for several reasons , like :
Missing updates for two years.
Wost support ever.
The explorer also doesn't show up input data as explained in this quote :
Using the block explorer, it's easy to understand the output, but the inputs are actually hidden here, I tried to explain how inputs are originated by showing the output from previous transaction(Bob's output).

Blockchain.com explorer indeed hide the inputs of the same address

There is are some blockexplorer which don't hide them.
Take a look here

https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/transaction/b65d25c7a07bffaa95ba6e6bda3d1dc05a3c188c1f4e9d3ab4693b0e4f718ede
https://m.btc.com/b65d25c7a07bffaa95ba6e6bda3d1dc05a3c188c1f4e9d3ab4693b0e4f718ede

You can see that there are two inputs from the same address in both explorers

I won't make images because I am lazy, but you can check the links;)

I actually left blockchain.com for btc.com but now blockchain finally supports every address format I can switch back to what I am used to.

I'm a sucker for blockchain's design as that is what grew with me throughout the years. Nostalgia I can almost call it. Thanks for the heads up.

Lol, so late for them to supports bech32 addresses, blockchain.info was my first wallet since it was the most famous at that time but I've left it more than 3 years and never use their wallet and block explorer again since then. There are other options such as blockexplorer, blockcyhper, and blockstream.
However, the most significant bitcoin transaction occurs in exchanges but most of them don't want to use segwit addresses, we know why, but still it's like a betrayal of the development of bitcoin and their clients to get more profit.

The reality is still that they don't allow people using their mobile client to send funds to bc1 addresses, so I rather see them support bech32 within their mobile client that (unfortunately) a lot people use, but I don't think they'll ever go that far. I'll be truly shocked if it happens, but considering that their "plan" was to do it before the end of 2018 and they still haven't done it today, it will not ever happen.

I have been using blockchair.com for quite a while now and it works perfectly fine and offers many more useful features. Definitely an explorer I recommend people to use.

And for some reason, their new (very huge) top banner advertisement made it through my AdBlocker.

that's not a banner advertisement, that is why it is not being blocked. it is more like site cosmetics apparently. if you are using uBlock ad blocker you can use its "element picker" feature to select parts of the site you don't want to see, select the entire top section and click "created" for it to be blocked.
it showed this "##.XFGDD.sc-1ejlvty-0" as the element and it successfully blocked it on other visits too.

So finally bech32 addresses is visible!

For old users like me who started with webwallets like blockchain.info, their blockexplorer is the one that I have in mind if I have to look up for my transaction whether its already confirmed. I think a lot of people were using them back then when they yet haven't realize online wallet isn't safe. And they have also gained users too when they distribute $25 worth of Stellar for submitting KYC. But this I didn't join.

i wonder how many user are still using this explorer? i have personally migrated to a much better explorer called https://blockchair.com/
Migrated to blockchair ages ago! Can't believe how badly blockchain.com is going down the drain with the new features they're shipping. They're becoming more noob-friendly by lower their standards so bad that experienced users don't want them anymore.

Still waiting for the day when they will start calculating proper mining fees.

I noticed the change. It's welcome seeing that I can finally browse through every address format on blockchain.com instead of switching to other explorers, which is quite annoying because they are mostly slower and don't have a pretty GUI.

It has taken them a long time (probably due to Roger Ver blocking upgrade attempts), but at least they did it, which is what matters at the end of the day, so I forgive them for having taken so long to move along with the progress made in Bitcoin.

Wow, really? This must have been the biggest news for them. They probably realised people were dropping off and using other explorers.

Blockchair's been my absolute favourite for a long time now, ever since I upgraded to bech32 myself. It's beautiful, cool, and love that alert feature when tx confirms;)

Now I'm just waiting for the time everyone gets on board with native sw. Still maintaining separate wallets just because of non-natives.

Finally!!! I find it interesting that there was another explorer (blockcypher) which didn't supported bech32 address while trying to search earlier but it now seems to be support and working.

This made me check the wallet and yeah, bech32 addresses were now viewable on their explorer.

They've upgraded a lot of things on their website too. Their explorer looked elegant after that upgrade. It looks like they are working with things that will allow them to go on par with other online wallets but I found them slow these days if you are about to send bitcoin to other address.

there are already a bunch of good alternatives such as blockchair, blocktrail and the likes.
Blocktrail ? You mean blocktrail.com? They had terminated their services long back itself. If you are referring some other explorer, please mention that in complete URL.

it was like bitblock or something but they used to show our forum posts too where we post a BTC address.
I believe you are referring to blocktrail.com. Here is what I got in a quick search in archive.is : http://archive.li/gpNu9
Like you mentioned, this archive page shows "mentions" tab which was used to link this forum's posts with that addy.

Damnit we're a few months off 2020 and here's Blockchain.com still using P2PKH addresses like they've been stuck in 2009.

Makes me think that blockchain.com is that old dude still using passbook and travelling a few kilometers just to deposit a sum of a few dollars all the while everyone are into digital banking. At the least, they're one of the longest-standing web wallet that happens to still work despite the flaws and issues on their site. As an explorer though, there are already a bunch of good alternatives such as blockchair, blocktrail and the likes.

Anyway, still congratulations to the team of blockchain.com for realizing that they have to do something after 2 years! Grin

At least blockchain.info is still running in different domain whereas some other such services had shut down their business some long time back itself; one of them I was familiar with lately started wallet services also then they suddenly closed their services. I am sorry I could not recall their name it was like bitblock or something but they used to show our forum posts too where we post a BTC address.

I agree blockchain.info was slow in all means so far. I guess it is worth a mention here; On the times of 2nd halving when block reward was reduced from 25 BTC to 12.5BTC, for the first 2 or 3 blocks under the era of 12.5BTC rewards, they showed newly generated bitcoins as 25BTC. I am not sure they are showing some static things whereas it needs to be actual data fetched every-time from the live bitcoin blockchain.

I noticed blockchain.com last 2 days is showing all the outputs for every tx which is little annoying but I guess that also will become familiarized over the time. I am still using blockchain.com as they are showing worth of a BTC at the time of tx and current value with click and mouse roll-over. It is a habit for me to keep checking worth of my old BTCs and also I have some love toward blockchain.info as they were my first BTC wallet and I saw my first BTC there only. Honestly, I am using other explorers too but I am not having any plan to leave them completely.

talk about being slow!
it has been more than 2 years from August 2017 when SegWit was activated and has been in use. most other block explorer has been upgraded in 2017 and the rest in 2018 and blockchain.info(.com) has been the worst and laziest among them.
today i saw that they are finally recognizing bech32 addresses (both types):
https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/bc1qw508d6qejxtdg4y5r3zarvary0c5xw7kv8f3t4
https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/bc1qrp33g0q5c5txsp9arysrx4k6zdkfs4nce4xj0gdcccefvpysxf3qccfmv3

i wonder how many user are still using this explorer? i have personally migrated to a much better explorer called https://blockchair.com/

It was so annoying...

They were just driving away traffic from their site since people couldn't get the info they wanted whenever there was any bech32 address involved. It's kind of shooting yourself in the foot.

Anyways, I'm using blockchair as well since they supported bech32 addresses long ago. Blockchain.com has really regressed.

The fee rate is still inaccurate!
After all this time, they still can't compute the correct size of transactions with witness data.

And for some reason, their new (very huge) top banner advertisement made it through my AdBlocker.
That's a very great website upgrade.... Undecided

but I stopped using your wallet because

for a moment there i though i owned blockchain.com company Grin

Finally hehe. I used another block explorer API, it is called bitaps. It does what it needs to do.
finding block explorer "API"s that support native SegWit addresses has been hard despite their web interface supporting it, they usually don't have the support in their API. i didn't know about this one, thanks. it works fine...
