The bandwidth to these miners with stratum is minimal, I'm telling you just pickup a freedompop and its free 500mb every month. You will never go over that if you only use it for emergencies.

Its even on sale today:

Here's an article how it works:

Would it be possible to go with a 3G solution? I don't know how much bandwidth the miners would consume, but you could potentially get a better deal.

Not really. 3g is being phased out and 4g is the new default- on top of that, theres no way that I can operate(work from home + miners) on a 3G connection. I think the $$ difference would be single digit dollars anyway.

Going to check AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile and compare.

I picked up a MiFi device on ebay so I didn't have to sign the contract for a subsidized device.  I am using Verizon since that is the best signal here.  You could also try the pay as you go model since you would only use it if needed.

Could you perhaps put these links in the OP on page 1? While I knew about these links, I forgot, and a lot of people like to skip to the last page to see if there's been any status update. Thanks!

WaldoHoover, this lack of communication is a bit unsettling.

Were you able to set the miners back up? I know you might be really busy but even just 5 minutes on here giving us a status update would be nice.

I'd like to explore all my options. Does anyone want to buy my shares? I have 1 share in Miner #5. I will take 1 Btc, or what's your fair offer at this time?

Guys I apologize for this long shitty week. Service techs literally just left and internet is back up.

I'll def have to look into a 3G/4G backup because now AT&T no longer services this part of the county.. and they were the 2nd back ISP after cable.

As you can imagine, after days of no internet, I've got plenty of work/catching up to do.

Just wondering, are you able to access Bitcointalk from a phone? I think people are just mad that there's not a lot of communication.

Also, what's the status on divs? Should we expect a 50% drop compared to last week, a 30% drop, or what?

It's almost 3 days since the miners went offline and no post from the organizer. I hope he's doing all right, and I hope the jupiters are all right, too.

How much can you get for a used KNC Jupiter these days?

24/7 has a new meaning in mining: is the interval required to get an answer from op - 1 to 7 days...  Angry

waldohoover, can you spend 5 minutes giving us an update as to what the situation is with the miners please. You made payout on Monday but apart from that all we can see is the boxes have been offline for over 2 days now, unless they are mining on BTCGuild.  If that is the case can we get a link to the stats there please.

Thanks.

This is becoming worrisome.... Miner #5, at least, is down, don't know about the other miners. Please keep us updated, waldohoover!

if you have a openWRT capable router with a USB port, its mostly a problem of setting up teaming.

3g/4G was cellular i thought? as far as that goes, t-mobile has a nice pay as you go, $30/mo for 2.5 GB. you just need a GSM compatible hotspot.

Thats pretty much what I'm looking at. The Miners are all hooked to a switch so I need to get a device/adapter that pushes out ethernet as well.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA3AR18P7192. I don't know if this is what you would be looking for, but it might be able to fit the bill.

im not sure how an ethernet/wifi bridge helps here?

That would work.  Most 3G/4G devices are wifi.  I am running my miners off a Verizon 4G JetPack with a wireless bridge.

It should be something that switches over automatically in case he's not around to switch the ports over.

All dividends paid - Just give it some time to go through.

Miners should be up and running by tonight.

Despite the downtime, divs are still looking good!

just out of curiosity, what's your bandwith look like?

Well - I started mining and using it from home this month.  I keep having to bump up my limit  Angry  but that is not just from mining.

My new house can not get DSL yet due to all the ports being full so this is a stop-gap until it is available.  I work at home and use it daily.  I haven't tracked the mining traffic.  I have it at 14GB of data right now for me, my family, and my miners...

UPS Battery backup???

we would need a sizeable storage unit (flywheel?) to get more than a minute or two of use if power at his house died, so no point really. other than telling... undesirable elements that yes this house is worth robbing.
