Bitmain is proud to announce the sale of AntMiner S3 for 0.75 BTC each to include International shipping.  S3 is hashing at 478 GH/s while consumes 366 Watt power from the wall.

AntMiner S3 is the third generation Bitcoin mining rig made by Bitmain. It uses the state of the art BM1382 chip powered by the 28nm tech process with ultra-low power consumption, targeting the best combination of power efficiency and low capital expenditure for mining investors.

Specifications:

Hash Rate: 478 GH/s±5%

Power Consumption: 366 Watt at the wall

Power Efficiency: 0.77 J/GH on wall

Power Supply: 12V DC

Size:  331 mm x 137 mm x 160 mm

Fans: Two 14038 fans mounted on both front and back ends.

Operating Temperature: 0 °C to 35 °C

Complied with: FCC / CE

Network Connection: Ethernet

Notes:

1)   Power consumption: This figure depends on the PSU efficiency, ambient temperature and the accuracy of the power meters.

2)   PSU: You have to prepare your own the ATX PSU. The S3 ships without a PSU. There are 4 PCI-e connectors for +12V DC input, but it only needs to connect two of them if without overclocking (PSU not included). Don’t parallel connected different DC input from different PSU into the same Hashing board.

Features:

Stand alone: The S3 mines stand alone, needs no proxy server.

Quiet: The customized heat sinks mounted to the hash boards, one box over S3 to control the air flow, two fans mounted on both front and back ends that mean fans are able to work at lower speed to dissipate all heat easily. This design let S3 run at much lower noise level.

Stable: Running 24 hours a day with minimal downtime.

Accurate: Hardware Error got from the sample unit rate is as low as 0.01%, hundreds times better than some competing products.

Efficient: High energy efficiency to save your investment on PSU and electricity bills.

Thanks everyone, I guess it's totally ok to change your terms in the middle of a groupbuy. I never knew it was ok anywhere else before. Thanks for straightening me out!!!

waldo,

I may be interested in getting one S3 hosted.

I have read some of the group buys you have organized and have some concerns: such as,

You have changed terms AFTER miners have arrived and you started hosting, like increasing the management fees, sometimes doubling the fees. Can you give us assurances that you will not change the terms set forth at the start of the groupbuy?

I have another concern that I'd like to address after my question above has been answered.

Sincerely,

please show a link if you are correct.

Look at post #524.

Waldo has pulled the same trick on other groupbuys as well, advertizing low fee and then switching to higher fees AFTER miners have arrived.

If you don't believe me, please do a search yourself, I am a niewbie and yet I can come up with proof to back up my claims. You are a hero member, philipma!

You literally linked to the same thread that waldohoover was referring to here, https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/all-sold-653256.

As he stated that was his first GB and hosting deal. He explained why he had to change the hosting fees. If you don't want hosting, don't host your machines. Waldo has been very honest and up front about everything. I highly doubt he is trying to screw anyone out of money, just merely covering his own costs so he is not running his business with zero returns.

As far as I know, cost of hosting a miner is a tedious job.
Its not just plug and play as it virtually seems. There are direct and indirect expenses.
Cost includes direct and indirect expenses. I know some who employees a guy just for managing the hosted miners.
Direct Expenses like;
01. Miner Price
02. Shipping Cost
03. Customs Duty Charges
04. PSU Cost in case of Non PSU ASIC Devices
Indirect Expenses like;
05. Hardware Room
06. Power Facilitation & Custom Cabling
07. Cooling Management
08. Frequent Monitoring
09. Business/Income Taxes as applicable
10. Risk of own Hardware Failure like electrical installations, PSU, etc except ASIC Device
11. Inflationary Expenses like Power Cost
12. Maintenance of Miners once weekly or atleast once a month
13. Power Backup Solutions(Battery/Inverter/Generator/etc)
14. ?
