This is why the world needs crypto... There should be no gatekeeper that says if you can or cannot run a business. Our business is 100% a traditional business. We are selling computer components just like newegg or amazon. There's no crime going on here. The only difference is in the marketing. They couldn't even bother to call and talk to me. I've submitted multiple documents provided character witnesses, gave them the information to verify our supply chain with Xilinx AND a risk mitigation strategy. We're being discriminated against because of our market. They called all of the customers and verified every order themselves.

Oh, and they're locking us out of the funds for 6 months.

We have reviewed your PayPal account and, due to the excessive risk involved, we would like to begin parting ways. As a result, your PayPal account has been permanently limited and there will be no appeals to the decision. Effective immediately you are no longer able to receive payments using PayPal. Funds remaining in your balance will be subject to the below disbursement options. We looked at several factors to determine the high level of risk associated with your account.

UPDATE:

We need to go through all of our orders and support tickets, wait for some lingering payments, but it appears as if we've sold out of all of our devices. If stock is freed up from unpaid, canceled, etc orders we'll again open up sales for the last remaining few devices. Those of you with outstanding invoices will have a few days to pay them. Anyone who invoiced by bank transfer I'll try to contact before cancelling your order. I'll also give a few extra days as I understand bank transfers take time.

I thank you for the vote of confidence and the outpouring of support.

Wow, that didn't even take 24 hours to match up your inventory to new owners. Will there be a standing waiting list or just first come first serve once you announce available units (should they become available)?

Senseless, would using a 16x-to-16x (powered) riser increase the speed of the FPGA card (as opposed to the commonly used 16x-to-1x risers used in GPU rigs)?

...as in full width ribbon risers making a comeback! Cheesy

No, x1 is fine. We will be designing our shell for x1 reg access and x1 DMA access. There is only one situation where x16 would be required and it's not clear that situation would ever come to pass. If it does end up being needed it would only be for a single application and you would only need 1 fpga in the motherboard on an x16.

I was planning to include risers with the boards as a bonus. We can get the cost down pretty heavily for such a large buy and save you guys a few $ on ancillary costs.

@Senseless

Do you have any idea about your potential improvements in Cryptonight or Lyra2z hashrate ? Is it more about x1,5 / x2, or do you expect something really bigger (x5 / x10 / ...) ? Just to have an idea.

Thanks !

Yes, there will be improvements. I'm not going to make any public claims as to how much those improvements will be until I know 100% for sure. There has been too much over-promising and under-delivering in this space. What I can tell you is that we're taking the opposite approach of under-promising and over-delivering. Assume that the rates in my OP are what you will achieve, use this as the basis for profitability calculations, then get your device (if you want one), and maybe you'll find an easter egg.

In the other thread about "the risks of FPGA", you were talking about getting these things to GPU price levels. It might be early to ask, but in what sort of time frame do you see this happening?

I'm asking because shipping + vat are costs that add up for us outside the US to something that is already pricey Smiley

It's something I'd like to do. If it's possible to get them to that level is another story entirely. Right now there are around 10M gpus securing the PoW networks. If we replace those with FPGA we're talking about moving 1M products. The GPU mining really only started taking off with litecoin and later. So we're talking about 6 years for that volume of product to move. I'm hopeful that it will become obvious to the powers that be, that this is a good market, and it is possible to move 100,000 units a year if we can reach a certain price point.

It's possible / likely this will be the only batch of hardware we sell this year. Get them while you can.

If you're with a company in the EU that is vat registered you can insert your vat id on your account profile. No matter what, you'll end up paying that vat unfortunately. The cost of living in the country you live in.

Is there a way to email you with questions on our order? I have a question about payment to you. the invoice email says to contact you via the link , but the link is a no reply link.

Apologies, someone will be correcting that shortly. You can send a contact request here and we'll receive it:

PayPal is just fine.

VAT number should be optional, providing it lets us not charge you VAT.

Where do I put in the VAT number to avoid having VAT charged at source?

In the check out process it'll ask you on the right hand side when you're filling out your info.

This doesn't seem to happen. On the right hand side, I only get Subtotal, Shipping, Taxes.
At no step from Cart, Customer Information, Shipping Method, Payment Method is there a box to enter the VAT number.
At what step _should_ it be there?

If you have a vat number, enter it in the box provided, and it will update the costs. If you have any problems let me know.

And that is the problem - I don't see a VAT number box at any stage during the checkout process. I tried to PM you but I'm too new to the forum to be allowed to do so.

Apologies, you need to go to your account profile and add it there. I'll get one of my guys to toss it on the order form. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
