Its always best to never rush into anything.  And always do your own thing, and never listen to predictions.  The amount of bullshit predictions on here about the Fork was unbelievable.  From collapse of Bitcoin to collapse of Bitcoin cash to complete meltdown.  Some of the threads needed to be removed.
Its all FUD spreading negative news about bitcoin and making investors scary about bitcoin.I think all the dust has started to settle down now.Every where negative news that they made it such a big story. Now its all clear. Some even sent to the extent of telling that bitcoin would crash and only BCC would prevail.

there is always two kinds of "prediction" around and you'll have to find a way to notice the difference between them.

- real speculation: which is the only thing that is good. and it is usually rare. the speculation has some logic behind it not random guesses and not forcing to relate random unrelated stuff together to come up with a final conclusion. it is mostly containing some kind of technical analysis too.
if this thing is wrong, it really doesn't matter, it is rarely wrong though.

- the FUD: this is what you have been seeing probably. and it is always bullshit from random new accounts usually saying 1 line about doomsday. or some people try way too hard to write long walls of text to forcefully convince others that some very unrelated thing is actually related and has effects on price.
these always fail and the person making them is always no longer among us because they were using a throwaway anyways.

hah. this^. If there's something I've learned in my past year in the cryptocurrency markets in terms of investing, is to never base your buy/sell offers/times based on forum and Reddit posts. A perfect example would be last year (around July-August probably), alot of people on Reddit are asking like "is now the perfect time to invest into cryptocurrency A and or cryptocurrency B?". And most people were like "No they're too high at the moment. Wait for the crash." And guess what happened a few months after? Most cryptocurrencies doubled in price. LOL

Do your own research, and make your own educated choices, people. Take forum/Reddit posts lightly.

When money is involved, it is never simple and straight forward. We have two groups of people with different objectives and

hidden agendas. Both groups want their coins to survive {BTC vs BCC } and not just survive, but to thrive. Also, do not forget

that there are 1000's of other Alt coins too, which have the same objective. Add to that the people who are not into Crypto

currencies, like the Gold bugs and people invested into other commodities and you have a shit show orgy of misinformation

and Fud being generated to fuel different agendas.  Roll Eyes Angry

Op has a valid point here except I don't agree that bitcoin cash will survive. Prior to August 1st the threads regarding fork were huge and BS honestly, the amount of rumors were way to high which led more and more people confused. I feel there should be a system where only one thread should be made next time something happens and all other threads locked for good. On and op Bitcoin cash will be extinct for sure.

The majority of predictions here are bullshit, not just about Bitcoin after the fork.
Most people who make "predictions" heavily base them on their opinions or desired outcomes.

The fork has now happened, we shall see how it goes.
Yes most of their predictions, assumptions, guesses reflect their wishful thinking but there's no harm in listening to what they have to say as long as we're sure of what we need to do and what we don't need to do.

It was a crazy few weeks before the fork, certain individuals worked very hard to create uncertainty and fear. I am guessing their plan was to crash the price and benefit from buying cheap coins. Fortunately it didn't go as planned for them.

Thats the sense that I got also.  I have been at Bitcoin for a while now I got interested in it through Mining and the general devolved way it worked in terms of Financial institutions.  But I do get a Feeling that somewhere within the Bitcoin Chain people don't want to see it work.  Some appear to be trying to crash it regularly to buy cheap.  And there has been way to much emphasis on start ups for bitcoin and Blockchain less focus on making it a currency for the masses.  The Bitcoin News outlets carry so much misinformation and spread fear and lies.

Cryptosapien I hadnt seen the YouTube videos, there does appear to be an attempt to scare people through social media about the Fork and cryptocurrency in general.  Cointelegraph always carries negative stories.  For something as succesful in terms of market cap as Bill Gates it sure gets some negative press.

"...negative stories...."

@ziggystar1,  to most online publication, negative & fake stories are the quickest way to gain popularity and attention.

Thanks

This is very true

It was very hectic in the week before the fork, and the day before, good lord.... I thought the world was gonna end. I guess people were afraid and didn't know what to do.

Maybe It is good on listening on others prediction so that you can have your own prediction. you can sum up others prediction and have your own prediction.Always do your own research as well as others prediction was wrong.

this is called speculation, propaganda, etc ...

but sounds that the Market Efficiency Hypothesis still holding ...  Undecided

Quote
What is 'Market Efficiency'
Market efficiency refers to the degree to which stock prices and other securities prices reflect all available, relevant information. Market efficiency was developed in 1970 by economist Eugene Fama, whose theory of efficient market hypothesis (EMH) stated it is not possible for an investor to outperform the market because all available information is already built into all stock prices.

If the bonus coins won't die right away I think we will soon see how the scammers will try to sell them a bitcoin because the price will always be cheaper. I recommend to all users to be careful when private transactions.

Very true Bitseo fear and bullshit gets annoying.

I haven't even looked at Bcc wallets yet and how the whole thing looks from a supposed bonus coin point of view but its certainly very interesting.

Yes, it was hilarious to watch people trying to manipulate gullible individuals. Same on Youtube, there were plenty popular Youtubers who tried their best to sway their viewers. None or very few of the viewers listened. Anyone who listened to the BS must be full of regret right now.
