Your story is more or less fascinating because at any point in time we try to introduce bitcoin to people around us irrespective of their gender differences, i will say that your sister had made her choice already right from when she demanded to learn about bitcoin, she realized that her gender difference shouldn't be a barrier to knowing about bitcoin, be an investor and be financially free and independent, same should other people learn from this that bitcoin is meant for all, no gender bias, it's not meant for the men alone, try encourage her to take more adequate steps in learning about bitcoin the more because she's just getting started.

I also have taught my siblings to engage with bitcoin. My Fisrt sibling is boy then my second sibling is girl, although my first sibling give more attention then her, i should not different their gender as barriers. Maybe they have different preferences so i can not ask them for the same response and attention.

This is not a place of discrimination so anyone can easily learn bitcoin regardless of gender and age, so it is only natural that women can also learn about this.
Now learning bitcoin is actually quite easy even though you can't teach your siblings and it's just the basics, as long as there is internet we are free to search for anything and indeed teaching materials about the introduction of bitcoin are also very much on the internet even though we really need to filter it because not all of it is useful and it is actually misleading but the internet can be used as a place to study with lots of references.
You also have to say the risks in this case don't let your siblings only be tempted because of the benefits because this kind of thing is not as easy as it looks at first glance.

Everyone who is aware of what bitcoin is should learn it and take advantage of it. I don't even think bitcoin was just created for one gender [male] so girls don't have to learn about it. So whoever they are aware of what bitcoin is and how it works, then they should learn it and take advantage of it. It doesn't matter if they don't want to use it as currency - they can use it as potential asset in their investment.

Well, she indeed have every right to learn about bitcoin and what can it do to the people's lives. Actually, I cannot even recall about bitcoin that is only limited for boys/men nor having other boundaries to an opposite gender as this cryptocurrency is created for everybody's use. And I'm glad that your sister is showing some signs of being interested towards cryptocurrencies because most people that I've know after hearing about bitcoin and stuff, they surrender at an early phase after knowing that there is more to know and it's not just about buying low and selling high.

Don't know how obedient you're to be a citizen, and how strictly the law is enforced. Teaching knowledge about bitcoin isn't a problem regardless of gender, but using it is prohibited according to the regulations of the country you come from.

I actually taught a lot of young girls at a birthday party on how to buy bitcoins and where to spend it. There was some Kitty game that they wanted to play, but they did not know how to buy bitcoins... so I taught them.

They were still young, but a use case was created and they wanted to participate in that. The boys used their bitcoins to play some war game, where you try to torpedo the other persons boats... was actually a nice game.  Grin

Technology is gender-neutral. Everyone is able to take advantage of the latest technology and Bitcoin is more of a technological advancement rather than just a way to invest your money.
Also, it's age doesn't matter. If someone is not earning, teach them how to manage their money once they start making and if someone is already making, teach them how to invest it.

So anyway, I applied as a merit source :)
I dont see why gender comes out to be a problem in owning or trading bitcoin. If women are not given access to electricity and internet in Bangladesh, then that is the bigger problem along with education and removal of religious dogma which binds them down to the ground. The same with poverty stricken people who dont have access to these necessities and for whom bitcoin is somewhat of a luxury.

If you ask me, everyone should be learned about bitcoin. After that it is their choice to use it or not.

Bitcoin is for everyone, not only girls but also the elderly, or anyone with investment needs, making money can invest in bitcoin. Moreover, the world is becoming more and more equal, there is no reason why men can invest in bitcoin but women cannot. You did a great job, and I hope your sister will talk about bitcoin with more friends.

Just like in any other aspect, gender should not be an issue with respect to the 21st century. Men and women are equal in all aspects and this should be the normal way of thinking when it comes to any kind of application.

Though this may be the case, everyone is entitled to know and discover the limitless and endless potential of cryptocurrencies. Be it men or women, everyone should take advantage of this opportunity while its price is somehow and relatively low in the market.

Hopefully in the coming years, the entry to cryptocurrencies would be lower in a way that its complexity and technicality would be a little bit easier for everyone to know and apply.

Bitcoin is for everyone who wants to adopt it, but it seems people still get surprised when they see a girl making use of BTC, what shouldn't happen at all, since women are normal individuals like any other man who have financial needs, attraction for technology and their own philosophies, beliefs and ideologies which can be concretized through BTC adoption. Just let everyone confortable to learn and absorb knowledge they think it will be interesting and useful for them, and they will do the rest, being them children, women, men or elders.

Is there such thing as gender preference in any field of investment? 'coz if there is, then I would be surprised. What matters most in any field of investment is how an individual would manage the investment, risk, capital and projected profit regardless of race, color, gender, amd social status. But it takes one's initiative to do so and ofcourse courage. Especially in this industry wherein risk is obvious from the market prices up to this technology's adoption across countries. As long as you understand what you are engaging yourself with, then you're good to invest already and also if you have the financial capacity to do so.

Crypto space is open for everyone whether you are a girl/woman, or men. As long as you have an interest in learning about this stuff, you'll really get something good out of it. Besides, Bitcoin is already known across the globe but yes, some are not knowledgeable enough, maybe they just heard it or just read it in the newspaper. With the lack of crypto education, many of us think negatively and are afraid to invest in this. Not to wonder why because even, why I should do that if we don't understand it in the first place. But I know, from to time, many people learn about Bitcoin and have possibly been taught in the school as part of their curriculum.

In the studies I've seen, fewer women are in Bitcoin when compared to male peers in the same demographics, but women do much better when investing, and are more interested in utility (as opposed to speculation). Seems to be a case of "Boys Should Also Be Learned About Money".

How nice of you, after 3 years on this forum you finally shared your knowledge with your sister.
And obviously, it's far better since this ain't one of those fantasy merit fishing stories!

At least I know I'm not the only one being intolerant of these fantasy story made-up nonsense posts. I say intolerant because apparently, not everyone believes these stories aren't... stories Wink

I still can't wait for a topic of somebody telling their relatives about Bitcoin on how this is censorship-resistant, how it works 24/7, how nobody can ban you from using it, how it allows you to pay somebody a continent apart, how you can store it safely without anyone ever knowing and not once mentioning the price or making rain money with one quarter. But I guess that would be a surprise even for users here!

If I had the energy I'd dig up some old threads I've seen about other real-life stories of people claiming exactly that. Like me, I'm sure your heart would have warmed up to them.

OP has "knowledge is power" as his tagline... I wonder if miseducation and misinformation are more powerful weapons these days.

Bitcoin wasn't created for men only as there are many women in many cryptocurrency communities contributing in many ways as possible.
It's really great to hear that you taught your sister the basics of Bitcoin, I guess she is a courageous woman who would be of great help to the Bitcoin community.

Just tell her to study more in her leaisure hours about Bitcoin and know the risks involved. She should Not just saving up money to invest, but also save up knowledge of what she is about to invest in. Bitcoin is very volatile and this she must know of.

I am now much happy by sharing with my younger sister about Bitcoin and will be more happy if she share information and teach other friends.

imparting knowledge about Bitcoin to anyone is a good deed. it doesn't even look at gender, religion, or where you come from.
it becomes simple when we teach someone to hold onto Bitcoins the way he or she saves with pocket money. the impact of the investment made is indeed not large, because there are indeed limitations to the capital used. but it can be huge when people like your younger sister can earn their own money and have a bigger allocation of funds to invest in Bitcoin.

The rate at which females are adopting Bitcoin is not much compared to males, but it is not a new thing that there are some females in the crypto industry. Bitcoin does not identify any gender; it is created for men and women to save as an alternative to fiat currency and help us against inflation, and many also see it as an investment that may profit in the future because of its volatility. If there is some purpose to Bitcoin, I wonder why we still don't have many females in the crypto industry. But I discovered that many girls are dependent on their men, which is why many of them never think of learning about Bitcoin.

Why do you separate women and men in Bitcoin knowledge? Perhaps for technical issues in Bitcoin, not all girls will be interested, but everything related to investing does not present any difficulties; moreover, girls are more accurate in learning, and if they wish, they can still argue with men. But I’m sure that girls in storage, and the patience to keep up with the price they need, are stronger since many have innate accuracy. And I agree with your sister that women should not depend on men; they need to develop on their own in order to be self-sufficient and not dependent on anyone.

My younger sister told me that how you bear your pocket money because dad doesn't give you much money without education fees. I told my sister that I have a little investment in Bitcoin and I am a short term trader (though the fund is little). She told that she learned about Bitcoin at her ICT related books. But she has not much knowledge about it. Then I tried to teach him the basics of Bitcoin. At last I succeed though there are enough information to learn by my sister. She told me that she is interested to be a Bitcoin user. And already she started to keep some money from daily pocket money and after that she will invest in Bitcoin. I told that not only you but also other girls should learn about Bitcoin and Blockchain technology. She told me that she will share her experience about Bitcoin with her college friends. I am now much happy by sharing with my younger sister about Bitcoin and will be more happy if she share information and teach other friends.

I have said it in several similar threads and I'll still echo it here again.
When introducing something that has the potential of making someone lose their money/investment make sure you also tell them able the possible disadvantages associated with it, that way they will be more than rest to shoulder anything that might happen in the future.

I'm very sure your sister is delighted to have heard that she can make money by investing in Bitcoin but is she also away that the price of Bitcoin s volatile and my drop down at anytime? No! What then do you think will happen if your sister successfully makes her friends interested in Bitcoin by also sugarcoating it the same way you did to her and eventually none of them profit from it and at that end were forced to sell at a lost due to an urgent need for money? What do you think you will be labeled as? It's certain that you might be called a scammer for trying to help people.

Please always try to talk about the things that people wanting to go into Bitcoin should bear at the back of their mind, the risk involved and they are fine with it then let them proceed.

That's actually a wholesome moment with your sister as you guide her to more opportunities. But Bitcoin is literally open to everyone, is just depends on the person if they really spend their time to learn and study about Bitcoin since it's complicated. I met some woman in the community which talks about cryptocurrency and she literally know how to take advantage of everything in this industry which is amazing. You could teach her step by step no need to rush, some people took years before even trying to invest. Until now everyday people are still learning since the world is changing too fast.
