Its not good for Altcoins that lots of new altcoins are introduced day by day.Investing in new altcoins is highly risky. Instead, altcoins with good reputation and which has lasted for more than two years is good for investing like Monero, Etherum etc.The market value and founders of the Altcoin should be considered before investing.

In this point of time buying altcoin nowadays need a double careful to invest, if because if there are more altcoin rises up in the crypto currencies there are more altcoins also being closed in the different exchange paltform. Though there are altcoin still legit were itis good to invest in like eth, ltc, and nem.
The Ethereum could be a good buy as the price is quite low at present due to the fact that people are investing more in ZCash.
ARK will be one a good one, though i'm slightly bias. 120% bonus on the first day for lisk.
ARK definitely looks promising and it might be a game changer once it gets released to the public. The 120% bonus definitely looks interesting, so I think that this may also cause the LISK price to increase as people would be buying and using LISK in order to get the bonus for the ARK ICO.
So far, I think that the most promising altcoin projects would be: MaidSafe, ARK, ICONOMI, and Chronobank. Even though, these coins would start falling in price right after the few days of the ICO, you would've profited by becoming an early investor. I have made good returns thanks to investing into LISK and Waves. Just my opinion.

If you can not research and decide for yourself you should not be buying any of them. You will not get good answers here asking this so do not bother.
Agreed, you must research by your own effort and decide for yourself too, so that it will be easy for you to buy any coin wholeheartedly. Because by that you find out if altcoins is really worth buying.

It is much of a choice for everyone. If you really are into alternative coins then you should seek some help with the people here that are good with this kind of things. Also, they might add up some advice for trading and maybe freebies if they want you to try their own coins. Do not be shy to ask. This forum is really for that. To share our ideas.

I can't tell you guys who to trust (well I could but I'm not taking that responsibility) but I can tell you who not to. Go through this thread and find all the scams and who promoted them and promptly put them on ignore. Then find all their sockpuppets and do the same. It will save you much heartache.

Yeah to be honest. Bitcoin is the only coin that is well established (in my own opinion) the fact that it is very well-known in terms of crypto-currency. We can assure that the developer will not leave this coin hanging since the demand for it is very high. But, some Altcoins are also good to buy since their fluctuations will make you grow your bitcoins.
Now, I see that you lost some bitcoins when trading those Altcoins. You're right. To be honest I also lost some bitcoins by trading but that's normal. Remember that when you trade, there is very high risk of loosing it when you don't know the proper strategy on when you are going to buy or to sell that coin. And make sure before you engage trading with that coin, make sure to have a background research first to minimize the risk of loosing bitcons.

I saw an advertisement on Reddit for Zcash. No information was given other than the coin has shot up 5x in price. That's about as big of a red flag you can give prospective buyers, would not touch with a 10 foot pole.
