You could have jumped out before you lose so badly. And right now, you are at over 50% lose. You shouldn't sell because you have been holding all for years with hope, so why not continue holding.

You haven't lose yet if you do not sell those. If you are here in crypto for a short-term trading, then that's a pretty bad move for you to invest in that price, especially if you really need the money. Just hold them for another year or so because now that the halving is done, it is expected that Bitcoin's price would rise in a few months or even a year and we all know that most of the altcoins follow Bitcoin price.

You should know the risk you've taken when you invested in those altcoins.

I created a second portfolio with my holdings with todays prices. Makes me feel better seeing some green!
Glad to see that and what you need to do to re-adjust your portfolios when you are not getting profit from your holding. Can you tell me which you that you have been eliminated it from your list?

What is the best way forward? Sell them and get in lower? modify my portfolio to todays prices or forget them and hope that some day it will go back up?
I quoted right post below  ︾ for suggestion
Don't hold altcoins, sell it, buy Bitcoin and Hold it for 3-5 years.
and you never late to sell it, Just keep your Ethereum for 2 years from now or sell it when POS FOMO.

very sad to hear it mate
I only advise you to forget about the portfolio that you have now because selling at a low price only causes you to lose a lot of money. if you still have enough money then I recommend buying again

You are either unlucky or very patient my friend..
It depends on the amount that you invested
If you invested a lot of money.. my advice to you is to exchange your altcoins with ETH and BTC and hodl them since you have already been holding them for a long time now
Or buy tokens/coins with huge potential in the future that are more likely to sustain its prices (xrp/link/tzs/tron/etc) and try to try diversify

Hi all,

So I had bought a few alts two years ago when we thought that things will keep going up and up. Two years down the line in a pathetic look at my portfolio it hurts. I had gotten in ETH at around 500, ADA at 0.70 and NEO around 80 dollars. What is the best way forward? Sell them and get in lower? modify my portfolio to todays prices or forget them and hope that some day it will go back up?

You should always monitor the value of your ALTs. Anyway I would keep ETH to the maximum I would consider selling before a dump (with a stop loss) and I would look around for new more futuristic projects

What's your plan from the beginning? Are you in a hurry now?
Its too late for you to sell and if you do that today, you will once again lose the opportunity and that's a double burn. Don't make it worse by dumping what was dumped in the past 2 years. You are not the only who lost money but a lot of us are into this wagon trying to make money out of the investment we put. Now patience is another thing to control.
And it's not late for him to wait for the next bull run.

Ask yourself why you bough them. If reasons still stands then simply buy more to lower your average buy price. If reasons are gone then sell them. There is no middle way. If you bough them without any reason then ....

Your not alone in that situation we cannot deny frustrations but as long as you’re not selling anything yet then the game is not yet over. Just hold onto it, it will take time before those coins rise again for the meantime the best option is “patience”.

why the dilemma ?, if we want to invest make sure the altcoin you choose is a good project,
if you want to be safe, then choose the top 20 coinmarketcap and invest your money there

It would be better to buy more to decrease your average price as coin prices are lower these days. If you want to actively trade for profit, you can first bring down your average price and sell for smaller profits and buying on smaller drops. Selling all of them would not be a good idea as you still need to invest that money somewhere and the three coins you've invested in have a good potential in near future.

There is no dilemma about altcoins, the only present dilemma that I know of is individuals.

Do your own research, and never blame a loss on dilemma, instead figure out why it happened and work it out

If you buy some altcoin higher than the current price then the best advice is to hold it because if we sell low at the current price it still won't cover your losses, let alone modify the current price, it still fluctuates, not sure when it will be stable.

Halving has been completed and if you look at history there is always a good increase so it is better that we wait for the right time in the next few months compared to have to modify your portfolio.

Sorry to hear that you lost a lot when the altcoin crash.  I think we are in the same boat, but I never lose hope.  As long as the developer is still active and the altcoin is trading well in the market, there is still a possibility for a rebound but I think it will take time.

I would say take the the forget and hold option (though you should always be updated on the prices and development so that you can sell if things goes really bad such as dev abandoning the project), just hold them and wait till it bounces back.

IMO, be patient. We're already going to that point of reversal and if you still have all the patience, keep it and wait until it reaches back or if not, at least near to the bought price for those altcoins. But, if you are in a rush and you don't mind selling them, it's in your hands and up to your strategy how you'll use the money that shall return to you. If you don't mind telling us, how much we're talking in here on ETH, ADA and NEO. How much money you have invested for each of them when you bought?

i would wait and see if Bitcoin dominance (65,1%) continues to weaken, giving room to further Altcoins dominance.
