Do you trade altcoins regularly or buy and hold them? Which is more profitable?

For now I only buy and hold to make profit not trade. I believe this is the best strategy for me because I have no skill and knowledge. I use long time period and buy cheap coins, never forget stop loss and we call it martiangle strategy. Money management is important and also need extra patience, not always get profit every day is the reason. Disciplines buying only with 60% for safety investment is necessary. Good luck.
i like the both option. i have distributed my amount of money,  i want to distribute my money in different places because i feel myself more secure when i distribute my money in different places. i mostly trade such coins which have more potential to increase.

I prefer investing. It does not seem to be as difficult as altcoins trading, which requires a variety of technical skills and you are constantly monitoring prices.

i actually do both, its better to be wise when doing trading, and you might actually miss the chance to sell at high price before the coin you're holding gets dump.

I think it depends on what your definition of "long term" is. If you think you have enough patience to be able to hold when it is down 80%, long term investing might be good for you. If not, trading might be the way to go. In this crazy environment, it's hard to say.
yes there are some good altcoins where you can invest your money, for example etherium and some other coins where you can invest your money for a long time. and if you have good experience in short term investment then there are also altcoin where the price fluctuation is too much and can give you opportunity for short term investment and making money.

Both equally profitable.
But if you want to make a profit without doing more work you should choose an investment.
And if you want to look for more profits you should choose trading but you should be smart to observe altcoin price market.

You can do both things on the same time. Because buying altcoins can give you more possibility to gain more because holding such massive number of altcoin really attracts potential investors that are willing to buy the product higher than the price it is supposed to be. It is also better to hold those altcoins for a while and wait till the price pump that it will make those altcoins more attractive to buyers because they can see that you are handlinga great count that they can think to be a good asset for long term hold.

I think there should be balance between trading and investing. You can divide your portfolio in 70/30. 70% you use for investing and long term holding and 30% you use for trading and make daily income for a living. That is my vision.

There were a lot of people I knew investing on different Alternative Currencies that exists in this kind of community. And some of them succeed by following the charts on when that particular alt will go down. Because they have a rule to buy low and sell it high. Some people are investing on xem for long term. Well me I'm just a newbie and I'm only starting to learn this things little by little.

I think altcoin trade is more profitable because the rapidly changing price,to hold altcoin for long-term is very risky because altcoin is not like bitcoin, and very difficult to survive because there is many of altcoin can more potential

Altcoin investing and trading is sometimes tricky. We never know when its pump and dump so I also think trading some part of your altcoin is safer than hodl. Just be careful what altcoin you gonna choose, do some readings. Use altcoin that have potential in short term trading.

Both are almost as risky.
But if we invest in altcoin the risk of losing everything is very high.
Not same in altcoin trading, the worst risk is only lose half the capital we have.
what do you wanna go choose?

When you want to make a profit in no time. Buy when on the cheap and sell at a profit gain above 5% and if you want to generate big profits above 15% will take longer. Start investing with lots of short-term coins at a slight risk of loss.

Just simple trades with altcoin not holding. I don't really trust altcoins for long term investment. Holding them would not be ethical as they have tendancy to dump themselves at any time in the period. What if you have held some altcoins and they start dumping immediately, that would be your complete loss. Most of the dumped altcoins don't gain the value as devs won't go for future development sometimes. It's just possibly the case.

Yes to altcoin trading.
Holding in long term of altcoin is somehow risky like you never know when its downfall.
Just trading every now and then is much accepted like HODL. You can see if you're earning or not. Then you can do something about it.

Trade altcoins ONLY with stop loss. ANY altcoin, can go to 0$ in 1 day! Exceptions may be LTC, XMR, Sia.
..and the exact reason why it can go to zero (clear whole order book) is that people are using stop losses  Grin
