All profitable in terms of long-term and short-term investments, If you want quick profits in the short term you can try trading but the risk is also very great because we must be really careful in observing the movement of bitcoin and altcoin values.

I do trading, Nowadays many people do trading because its one way to earn profit more than usual. when it comes to trading you must focus in the movement of the alt coins you must predict every ups and downs of the alts in the future. That way you can earn a huge profit although there is a risk, the bigger the risk the bigger the profit. Do research, study the movement, and lastly trust your self and your prediction.

There are certain elements to take into consideration when you are investing in an altcoin, make sure you understand what the focus is all about and the team behind the project and they are willing to answer any queries and if they could satisfy my doubts i will invest in them, where as when it comes to trading i look at the market sentiments and take my decision.

I do both but so far the buy and hold has been way way way more profitable but it could be I"m just not a good trader yet. Plus trading is way more stressful and way more work and you have to be 100% concentrated.

Yeah trading needs focus and also the "What if" mindset.
