You know I noticed the same thing. And probably it will sound a bit ridiculous but I think it's because of the fact that the bitcoin is the first crypto of its kind. Therefore it influences the altcoins as a 'parent'. But please, don’t judge me too hard Smiley

All altcoins are dependent on Bitcoin value change and that is one of the most important thing that Bitcoin use in maintaining top number one crypto currency in the crypto currency community.
I agree with your opinion but besides at, a few altcoins still increase while bitcoin is going down . The altcoins are influenced by many factors not only depending on bitcoin.

only some altcoin that can do this and the rest still getting down if bitcoin is going down. bitcoin still be used as the adjustment price for every altcoin and the altcoin like or not will follow to wherever bitcoin goes and still behind of bitcoin. there are many people that will sell their altcoin if bitcoin is down because they think that the altcoin that they have will get down too far so they don't want to get more losses. they think that it is better to hold bitcoin than altcoin because their losses will not bigger if they not hold the altcoin.

Most crypto pairings are done against BTC and ETH. To know the value of your tokens when you're selling it you are likely to convert it to BTC or ETH. This makes altcoins quite dependent on BTC.

Yes, the altcoins price is really depends on the market movement of bitcoins  once price of bitcoin fluctuate other coins will also follow.
This can be said in the sense if you look at the market portion captured by Bitcoin; it is far more than that held by altcoin. Also the market cap matters a lot. Having said that, we can say any movement in the Bitcoin market can also affect the other crypto in the market. With the passage of time, as the prices appreciates for Bitcoin, the remaining crypto will follow.

Of course I can say that all alternative coils price or based on bitcoin price, because if Bitcoin is the first currency, so all the other currencies are aligning their price with it
Actually Bitcoin is the main cryptocurrency due to which crypto market started and this is the whole image of the crypto market if any change occurs in the Bitcoin it affects the other cryptocurrencies. if the market value increases and makes better image then the other cryptocurrencies will also get better with it. On the other hand it affects conversely if the Bitcoin value decreases.
Yes i strongly agree on that. Bitcoin is the main point of the crypto feild and if the bitcoin drops all kinds of coin in the market will also drop and we are really experiencing this kinds of dropping at this present time and we all see that the bitcoin price drop same with altcoin so that was really a big evidence that bitcoin price really effect everything on the field of cryptocurrency.

Is price of the altcoin is based on price of the bitcoin?I have noticed the price of bitcoin falling down for past few days on same the price of altcoins are also falling down

There is no evidence about the claim that altcoins are basing there price to Bitcoin. Maybe a coincidence that both parties have the same movement in the market when it comes to pricing.

We exchange most of the cryptos with BTC.
That's the main reason of why they are price-linked.
A good move could be open every altcoins market with FIAT conversion.

I don't really understand how the altcoins rate can be tied to the bitcoin rate? They have different blockchain, different owners, different goals...However,we see altcoins falling with bitcoin or growing with it. I'm confused...
I think it is just because the Bitcoin holds a huge share in the crypto market and it can be thought of as monopoly vs. a small firm. If the large firm decreases the prices, people will shift to the large firm and the small firm will not be able to set as much costumers as before nor would they be able to lower the prices below their marginal cost. Having said this we are in a position to say that Bitcoin moves the market and has an influence on the rest of the crypto currencies.

the alternative coins not basd on bitcoin price, slightly there are factors that bitcoins can affect the prices of bitcoin. when pairing to btc if the btc price is low there is posibility that the altcoin comparing price is low.

When I was still very new in it, I couldn't notice anything about it but now I have also noticed that when the price of bitcoin falls, it drops the prices of bitcoin. For the increase of bitcoin, I do not think it affects altcoin so much like it is for decrease.
I believe that if you join the crypto market a few years ago, you may find that the price of bitcoin is down, the price of altcoin is not likely to decrease and may increase, but in the current time in the first half of 2018 Bitcoin prices are likely to fall sharply, and the market capitalization will fall sharply. I believe that at this time, things are very much influenced by bitcoin prices and only a small fluctuation can cause altcoin prices to fall sharply.

sometime they're related, but in past when bitcoin price down altcoin price rise a lot, maybe because people can buy bitcoin with their fiat and then buy altcoin so it can make altcoin price increased. but now everything got different

Obviously. The price of the altcoins are depending on bitcoin. If the price goes down then price of altcoin also gets down. There is a connection of them directly or indirectly.

You can see that the market is fluctuating at bitcoin prices, only a small adjustment of bitcoin prices can cause the market fluctuations.

If bitcoin increases then the altcoin price can recover and if the bitcoin price decreases then the market will decrease accordingly. You can see that clearly when the price of bitcoin fell sharply from the $ 19800 threshold and since then to the moment the market is seriously reduced.

In general, in theory they are not related. But when the total market capitalization is growing, the prices go up in the same amount as bitcoin and altcoins.

I think there is a connection between bitcoin and altcoin prices because I see if the bitcoin price drops then almost all altcoin will also have a falling price as well if bitcoin prices start to rise then altcoin prices will also rise

I think the bitcoin price will affect all coins including Altcoin .. and only slightly different but it remains influential and if the bitcoin price goes up, Altcoin and other coins will surely go up .. because bitcoin is the first coin in the world of crypto and the top coin among other coins and it will affect Altcoin and other coins ..

yes, you are right but there are some of the altcoins that do not get the effect from bitcoin price. and if bitcoin price is up or down, this altcoin is just stayed in the price level and only up and down if there are many people wants to invest this coin. but for the other coins will follow wherever bitcoin price goes and will adjust their price with bitcoin price too. and it is because bitcoin is lead the altcoin in cryptocurrency world and bitcoin itself is moving because of supply and demand and the news is out there.

Due to the fact that Bitcoin is a basic asset for almost all altcoins, the correlation between them is very large. While Bitcoin's dominance in the market will remain at the same high level, the trend will continue to exist. I think everything will change with the development of other basic and strong cryptocurrencies.
The correlation is simply because of how traders perceive the market generally. Altcoins are more like a pump and dump market and most times, since the perception has been like traders quick to dump altcoins for bitcoin in a case where they can move into fiat when bitcoin is going down, or simply get into bitcoin in a bull run, makes it impossible for the altcoins not to suffer from any serious huge movement from bitcoin like someone stated. This makes it more like the altcoins getting the hit most of the time based on bitcoin's movement.
