annual cycle, it seems that there is indeed a predictable pattern, although it is not always correct but usually at the end of the year there will be an increase

If we observe the charts, there is always a trend of price increase in all (or probably most if not all) of altcoin or everything that has value everytime the year ends. Now if one do want to do trading would it be best to do it per year? and if one does this, is there a way to identify which altcoin would yield the greatest price increase so that at the start of the year you may have the time to prepare for it?

That is really hard to say. But i believe  you identified an interesting pattern here.

I personally need to find better ways to make money to invest still so i can do it a lot more. I'm more of a holder than trader though. Mid-term investments looks like long-term in a lot of aspects and that is a really good thing.

The best way i can think of is watching the behavior of each coin per year at different times of the year. That will certainly give you a very good clue about it's performance. I prefer to stick with the main ones though.

for the end of this year maybe EOS, ripple and cardano. the reason I recently saw many people who began to be interested in the altcoin. or if you dare to take risks, ETH can be a good choice. because every year eth must go up. and the risk is that ETH is currently Bearish. if you buy now there is no guarantee that the price will not go down.

if you want to invest long term maybe Ethereum is the right choice. because ETH is always profitable every year. For example, at the end of last year the ETH price was more than $ 1000. whereas at the end of 2015 the ETH price was even less than $ 15. in just one year the price has risen by over 1000%.

I only have 3 choices of altcoins that will soar later this year. first ripple, second eos, and third etherum.
Ripple was totally died so no one prefer this coin. But EOS and Ethereum is a potential coin. Because Ripple was banking sector project so Bitcoin is directly against in this plataform.
I strongly prefer Ethereum because this will be best worthy platform and current scenario soar but future is evergreen in the market.

The one coin that I have on my mind that has the potential to soar high at the end of the year will be Ethereum. But there are still a lot of good coins that cab possibly grow too, you just have to do some researching.

We should lower our expectations. Current market is sorrounded by a bearish sentiment, and it's getting more difficult to finally leave this trend behind as there isn't anything that could trigger a shift in market sentiment. With that said, we shouldn't expect prices to soar towards the end of the year.

Sure, from past experiences we could expect the prices to go up in Q4, but we shouldn't rely on what happened in the past, we need to look at what's going on in the present, and as of today, it doesn't look like prices will skyrocket like they did in previous years. Don't expect too much, just let the market surprise you.

I only do long term trades. I buy perspective altcoins and then hold, even if it takes two years. Out of all altcoins i consider only monero worth longer term holding right now, and maybe byteball and aura on idex.

Chart could be misleading sometimes judging by current market condition, it is not certain by the time this year end the current trend will change.

it's hard to find or guess, but you can see the history of the chart and look for coins that have the highest price difference from ATH. I suggest choosing between the top 100 coins.
Not all of top 100 coins can be trusted and can you tell me how many of them have finished their product and introduced their product to the community? Only a few from the top 100 coins. Just try to take the coin that still traded on the bottom price.

No one could know, but trading long term is not a bad idea. In fact if you took that approach at all in the past you'd be flying. I think ETH has a great chance of coming back when sentiment turns positive again, that's my shout.
