Buying is a good thing to do if market conditions decline and the next thing is to hold the coins you buy for the long term.
Unfortunately altcoins are not needed by anyone. If you have a big minus in the position - then you have to hold. But if the minus is small - the best solution will be to sell all the altcoins and be in Bitcoin. As for me - i hold my position and sometimes buy more.
I think that today there are not many options, as it was before, now we just need to wait, that is, HODL! if you need money to eat, then I think that you can find a job, but still it would not be a bad idea.

When the altcoins fall, the first thing you need to do is to exchange all the altcoins that are holding to USDT to avoid the exchange rate going down further and losing money. After that, USDT is a good thing to do and wait until the exchange rate has completely recovered or until the exchange rate hit bottom and continue to invest.
I keep buying during dip and sell once i get even few profits this way i will not stress myself holding too long and watching the up and down of prices.. Well im not saying holding is not good this time i still consider it for im holding btc during this season. but im just also being practical on my other assets.
Altcoins will not disappear anywhere until someone believes in them ... although this belief is often groundless, because 90% ALts are not supported by anything, neither idea and nor product.

If I settle my investment today, I rather choose to invest during dips even if it is altcoin nor bitcoin. Buying during dump will help us all to make 2x profits when it will regain its real price. The very best thing to do is to hold the cryptos you have in your portfolio and at the same time you have to rejoice too if you understand the opportunity given by the dip. Isn't it a very good time to invest more at a lower price? You can have additional tokens in your collection that will give you a good profit once the market is going healthy again.

Be patient and try to atleast be calm with the current market situation. Indeed it is hard to see how continuous the downtrend is. But selling won't make you safe from loss of profit but rather, would more likely to completely cut the profit . Always keep in mind that dumps are just temporary and recovery always has a chance to recover. It is not only altcoins which are suffering from dips at this moment, but mist of the cryptos.
