I agree. I think something like Ambrosus is going to be perfect once nodes go live since you will be payed out in AMB but it's tied to USD so even if the market is crashing your profit is still the same. Could be a very good hedge if you think bitcoin is about to drop. 
With the current market I'd suggesst investing in big altcoins, that are at a low point right now, e.g. NEO.

NEO is definitely a very good choice but you can also invest in the cheaper altcoins. Traditionally, they are growing faster when the bull run time comes. Pick Ontology, TRON, Credits, Napoleon X, and Gladius.
Now is a great time to buy altcoins because they are all very much subsided, and some of them have updated their historical bottom. I think that in the near future there will be a very good growth in all currencies

Buy some ETH and XMR and forgot about it. You don't need a lot of bags if you ask about it on the forum and just read some whitepapers.

I think you have to choose strong and stable coin like ETH, NEO, ADA, WAVES, etc. Investing on ICO or new Alt are very risky because of the market are in the bad condition right now even if the project look good and potential.
