Another freakin Havelock outage. I´m beginning to get a little tired of this.

looks like the extra has now been priced in. I reckon we will have at least one fat finger/desperation buy/sell order before the dividends restart  Grin

I am surprised that the price of AMHASH1 is too high now knowing that:

1) Friedcat said: "We will pause the transaction and dividends of AMHash from 10th February to 28th February"
2) The transactions are not paused
3) Friedcat did not said "We will pay the total of dividends for 10-28 February
IF we restart in the beginning of March"
4) Havelock indicates a wrong 208.57% when dividend is 0.0 for 20 days

The Dividend Yield is annual return... it is correct.

If they don't, buyers of shares now will get 18 days of dividends at the beginning of March and a stable share price.

Confirmed by Havelock, or by wishful thinking?
100% confirmed by wishful thinking. If it was confirmed by Havelock, it would still be 99% confirmed by wishful thinking. Either way, I like the odds! But then I'm not gambling with much. Kiss

Nothing wrong with the price of the shares at the moment.  If any of those manufacturers start mining with new machines within the next 12 days or so - that's a pretty HUGE if - we'll know all about it and the price of AMHash1 will understandably dip.

If they don't, buyers of shares now will get 18 days of dividends at the beginning of March and a stable share price.

Yeah, I guess they´re pretty fairly priced now. The dividend would be what, 550 at this BTC price. I´ll probably start buying some after the 20th or so.

I would wait a little further down than the 20th. Wait until at least the next difficulty change thats what I am doing.

Good point but I figure the market will have priced in the diff change by the 20-21 or so since it takes place on the 23rd. Most likely it has has done so partly by now.

TBH, none of those arguments should have any substantial influence on price.

I do share your surprise at the relatively high price though, but for quite different reasons. We're half way through Q1, Bitfury should be really close to deploying their next gen 28nm chip - its already overdue, but "imminent" according to their CEO (who btw recently bought Allied Control, the submersion cooling company AM was working with). Spondoolies should have their next gen out in this quarter and of course AM themselves seem close to releasing their next gen. All of these devices (and quite possibly some others I dont know about from bitmain, avalon or others) should achieve around 2J/GH which will cause network speed to roughly triple even at todays price, pulling AM1 divs below zero.

THe only reason I see to buy AM1 is as a bet that all these next gens will fail to perform anywhere near stated specs, or fail to materialize in meaningful numbers within the next ~6 months. Not a bet Im willing to make.

Thanks for that.

I don´t doubt that the difficulty bubble is leveling off, for the time being at least. But still +7-8% per 14 days is substantial. Your yield has to be higher of course, otherwise you´re at best running in place. My yield dropping below 1%/day is a minor crisis to me. But fortunately that´s rare, the average is around 1.5% best days 2% or so. When you work with compound interest and achieve substantial daily yields, over time the results can be quite spectacular.

lol good lord we dont want to hear that, we dont need bitcoin difficulty bubble increase, what we need is increases that are no more than like 4% max maybe 5% in bitcoin difficulty increases, if it wants to drop in difficulty then by all means can drop like 20% in one sitting i dont mind that one bit lol

Now they´re predicting diff. increase of 4 something % so it has pulled back some.

lol why cant it go -4 something %% haha, but i see price of bitcoin $261 when i just checked cryptsy so hope that is the real price accross the board, i need some life in this amhash shares

^and how...

Thanks, that's what I mean.

So is this a reason to prioritize this market over the others?

wow i have not really paid attention to the securities section on havelock, really does seem like amhash is pretty much the only one still running the show and keeping the ship floating

AMHASH is starting to look pretty attractive. Next diff. increase could be modest and BTC is showing some signs of life, however long that lasts. At some point meaningful volume has to come into the thing I guess. Then it´ll move fast given its tiny float.

dam i agree at this price does seem semi attractive and tempted to get more amhash but at the same time i am worried about the difficulty going up crazy or price in bitcoin dropping

Still far too long of a wait to see where btc will be in march and the difficulty on top of that

Well, the point of speculation is trying to be ahead of the curve.
