I support your opinion. If a gambler has an addiction and wants to get rid of it he needs to give up gambling completely for a while and try to find something to do which will bring him pleasure and allow him to distract himself. This is a difficult task, but it is solvable if the effort and follow his goal. I may be wrong, but it seems to me that computer games can distract a person while he is experiencing a craving for gambling.
You are not wrong, if someone is not idle but busy with another thing, it will help solve gambling problem if he determines to solve it. Also people can get addicted if not having source of income, having another means to earn money will also help, the work can keep an addict busy to avoid gambling or to avoid gambling too much.

The alternative of gambling with fake money will not satisfy a gambling addict, they can only hold for a moment to stop but later if they have a little money they will aim for real gambling. Honestly that doesn't really help at all, because an addict who wants to quit should focus on fighting himself and not fighting fake money bots.
Fake money can not help, it will only let them think they can gamble with real money again and make money from it.

Maybe it's good for some people but as time goes by, those people will surely think, what if they used real money. They will think it will be more interesting to play gambling because if they win, they can withdraw the winning money. They don't think long about what they lose, especially if they lose a lot of money. The gambling app is just a demo for people curious about what gambling is so they want to know and feel and get the experience of gambling, even with free money.

Although the original idea behind the creation of such apps was to provide a platform were individuals can practice their betting skills without loosing money before actually gambling with real money, i still find it useful to those trying to quit because they keep loosing money.

I doubt if this will help gamblers to quit gambling, for gamblers to quit gambling they must forget feelings that are associated with gambling if they will feel the excitement again and again on this fake gambling application, they will yearn to play again and they will be more excited to play again if they have success using these fake money gambling application, it's intended to test gamblers their gambling skill not to make them stop gambling, even professional will not advise their clients to use this as a tool to stop gambling.

Using fake money gambling application might be a good platform to curb gambling addiction but it would fail if there is no will power or determination to quit. Like you rightly pointed out mate that these application was mainly designed to improve gambling skills and experience. It might serve as a tool of increasing the addiction. After using the application to master some skills, most addicts might want to apply those skills to real gambling. Its just like advising a sex addict to curb his sexual drive by watching pornography.
Furthermore I don't actually see this as an Option.
There will be a difference when gambling with real money and games because even if the addicts are replaced with fake money and win, I still feel their pleasure will be different, they will not even feel happy at all and will actually prefer to gamble using ordinary money.
Addiction is something that is hard to fight and gambling with counterfeit money is definitely not the right answer.

Using fake money is one of the tool can be use to gain knowledge with the game itself at the same time is make their own strategy and get satisfied or entertain if the it will be the same for long the player will tired with this same situation and that's the time they will seek for some real deal with the game, if the game is multiplier but using a fake money i guess it is good but mostly the gambling casino just offering a demo mode mostly into their slot games, but not in their table top games.

the excitement is still different when it comes to using fake or actual money. so they won't really appreciate using those play money. it will create more desire in gambling. better totally get out or not. someone need to be firm about their decision, else, they will suffer the consequences. it is only them that can truly deviate themselves from this gambling activities. no one will do it for them.
Gamblers will get frustrated at some point when playing at free casino apps and will eventually return to the original gambling platforms to play with real money, because that is the purpose of betting activity. Therefore, I don't think it's a good idea for people trying to get rid of addiction. For gamblers in recovery, it's better to focus in activities which don't involve gambling, like going to a park, movies, restaurant, mall, gym, practicing sports, partying with friends, family or partner. Any mention to gambling during this process can be harmful for the total recovery during the acute stage of the addiction, so it should be avoided...

It is true. if a gambling addict wants to get rid of his addiction to gambling, the important and main point must come from the person's determination and will (intention). because if there is no intention to stop then an addict will not listen to suggestions and criticism from anyone, even family. because that's how I felt in the past. even I myself have a strong determination and intention to quit gambling after experiencing a big loss that almost made my fortune almost bankrupt. After I realized and there was an intention to stop then I looked for suggestions and solutions to stop starting from listening to family suggestions.

and regarding the app the OP mentioned about playing fake gambling with fake money I don't think it would be very effective either. because as you said this will only make the urge to gamble stronger. although it might work the OP's way. but I think the comparison is very far between what works and what doesn't work.

The most popular suggestion you can get when trying to quit gambling especially when you are continuously loosing money is mostly that you should just stop gambling itself. This sounds like an almost impossible task for many who are already hooked to it and just hearing that alone is discouraging. A better suggestion and an alternative to quitting gambling completely is to start betting with fake money gambling apps. With FAKE MONEY GAMBLING APPS, you can continue gambling on the app even on live games, but with fake money. So in reality you can maintain the experience you derive from gambling and not loose any money except the fake one in the process.

Although the original idea behind the creation of such apps was to provide a platform were individuals can practice their betting skills without loosing money before actually gambling with real money, i still find it useful to those trying to quit because they keep loosing money.

In Order of user rating and for suggestion sake, some of the best fake money gambling apps according to user experience, core functionality & innovative solution are (please note that some of these apps still offer real gambling services, and if you really want to stop loosing money, you should avoid)

What is your opinion on Fake money gambling apps, do you recognize the potential I think they have to assist in reducing the number of gamblers who loose real money?
How do you think those "fake money gambling app" makes all those money? They are worse. I have heard people say that they let you win a lot when you play with "their free coins" and then people eventually starts buying (microtransactions) more "coins/chips" to play and accumulate those currency that has no value. More like people are spending real money to buy some fake currency. And isn't it those "games/apps" that encourage more people to gamble? I mean they start playing with fake money, they see that they are winning big by taking huge risks and then starts to think about gambling with real money.

Fake money will only increase the appetite for an addict to gamble with real money. Taking a break will help faster and can also help reduce the addictive nature of gambling. A better option is to engage the addict with some thing that has no business with gambling possibly making them spend more time around their family and loved ones other than suggesting placing bets with fake money

In the first place, the addicted gamblers might not want to test these fake apps since why should they try it if it won't give them a good real profit. These guys just came from real gambling then they will be convinced to try those virtual money games, they might respond to what the ***k is happening and they are giving a suggestion to undergo that kind of treatment.

A good treatment is to not let these gamblers face any forms of gambling be it real or not. They will soon be used on it if they are really serious to change. Giving them excitement while playing virtual gambling might cause another problem and won't help them change their gambling habit.

When someone is quitting gambling, there should be no involvement in any gambling-related stuff even if they are playing with fake money. I don't see how it becomes a big help to overcome gambling addiction where in fact they are just doing the same thing but no real money is involved. The excitement of winning here will just lead them to return to gambling. This idea will just make the problem worst. Didn't you even think that?

There are lots of entertainments and activities that these people can try. Why still gambling-related?

Think outside the box or much better if you will totally remove the box. There are other ways to make these addicted gamblers overcome their gambling problems without the need of luring them to test those games.
It wont really be an utter solution if we do speak about quitting gambling addiction even if we do talk about gambling with fake money then it wont really be giving out the same
vibe and experience when you do gambler on using a real one and that what makes those people would be looking for playing on games which do deal real money and not some fake
ones which they do know that they cant earn something or benefit out from it which its not really that surprising. If you are really eager on quitting gambling for good
then quitting gambling completely and other related sites and activities should really be avoided as much as you could.

For starters, it will be fun. But as you go on and play it there will be the boring part.
I once played one, an android application, and I can say it gave me entertainment when I was playing it but it doesn't give the same punch as you are in risking real money.
Time consuming, yes, to get away from being addicted to real gambling and that's the purpose it. Can it help? Yes, for a bit time. But there's a possibility it will lead you back because it became like a simulation of what you will do next.

I think it's ok just to get familiar with the mechanics of the game. And so it is a boring process from the very beginning. It's like playing poker for free wrappers that many casinos offer - it has nothing to do with the real game, as players know that they are not risking anything and go all in all the time.

It only reduces the people who are a casual gambler and not into profit . My father and cousins like gambling but they only do it when they have free time and bet the lowest possible amount so they can play longer. But with fake money gambling apps, it helped them to gamble without worrying where to get the money or how much they can lose. But for me, these apps won't greatly help in reducing the people that lose in gambling because the number of people that gambles for profit has always been greater than the one who only does it for entertainment.

Hi, OP;
Crypto casinos have a great advantage over traditional casinos we can bet even up to 1 satoshi (1sat), if you have problems with variance, then lower your bet size level, it is simple.

Whoever is losing and wants to leave the game for that reason, will bring the same frustration if he does it even playing at home with his family and friends.

Losing or winning has no relevance for addicts, it doesn't matter, it is a fallacy to think that only losers are addicts, the winner has the plus that at least his finances allow him not to add a problem, but he is addicted to gambling just as bad or worse than one who has the stigma of loser.

Addicts should seek help, free-money (or any other name) will not help them, in contrast any player should do it at certain times, perhaps with crypto it is not so necessary.

Gambling with fake money is somehow a bankroll saver.  Sometimes people just want to have fun disregarding profit from gambling so having apps with fake money to play is a good thing.  But, as the earlier reply said, it can be a trigger to yearn for the real thing.  So I guess this alternative app is a double edge sword, it can make you avoid real money losses and it can urge you to bet real money on the casino.  But for sure this isn't the best way to control addiction or isn't one of the ways to control gambling addiction.

Indeed, also there's no such fun in playing using fake money that will only make us to play with real ones. I believe that it will not be called gambling without risking something in reality, what's the point of gambling if you are not playing with real money right? We just need a self discipline so that we can avoid addiction.

Only if there's  a prize that we can receive after participating using fake/free money, but if there's none all will just for entertainment

and it will be different from having an actual game with money that you risk, when you win the enjoyment and entertaining part is really

awesome. While with free game or no risk it's lesser in terms of excitement.
