Yeah, we are in fifth place if you count from below. At least we have tried, but I don't think we are in no position to compete with the giants. We don't have many active users in our local thread, and there are also many who don't even bother to come to our local thread. That being said, with only 50+ active users, we'll always be last.

In the chart shown, there are only two groups that don't have their own local board. I have already asked this question to some users previously. But I was thinking about what you guys think of us getting a local board. Is there any hope for Bangladesh and Pakistan? Bangladesh specifically.

Nigeria board is flying, 3rd place! Congrats!
Thank you, I know there will be a strong force to drive our local board to what we don't expect, of lately I discovered our weakness and all thanks to hugeblack for showing us undying love, actually since I discovered his level of magnanimity towards our local board that was how the sudden growth came. This doesn't only limited to position but always even the rate of newbies, and other older members ranking up shows a good efforts and the level of which they create quality post amongst all users both new sign up and old members are quite impressive. This is to show that we have been dying in silent all this while due to lack of motivation across the local board, but I can see all souls has been revived and LB looks more interesting to interact among all users.

Updated the chart with the latest data from Rikafip, as September 2023

You may want to remove the * sign from the Nigeria local board now that we are no longer a mega-thread. On the Rakafip chart overview, the * sign was used to distinguish local board from local threads.

Small suggestion- can you add aminated merit chart?

Those local animated charts are not easy for me to do, I will try to make later, because I need data from another people.

But I updated the merit animation chart for the whole forum.

Hello @bitmover.
It's almost that time of the month: do you think you can update your video?
It would be a beautiful addition to this month's Italian Board Overview!

Hello fillippone.
I am waiting for Rikafip to update his post, as  I use his data

As soon as he updates, I will do the same here!

I guess (also) this time you are going to beat me.
Something in my real life is barring me from dedicating all the time I would like to the forum. And when I can, I must concentrate on less la out intensive works.
But I will deliver, eventually.
At some point we got really stuck to some works that slacking keep on streching but don't worry man as you Focus on IRL work also but we know you will shortly deliver them after @Rikafip has published those charts  Wink

It's a fine balance of slacking in the forum and slacking in the real life.
It's a difficult balance, sometimes, but I am mastering this art.

@fillippone this is your chance to beat me this month.  Grin
He is slacking around and stuck in some work as he told so this time also you have an edge against him to present your local board activity before him as many are waiting for the reports to be published including @bitmover  Grin

As soon as he updates, I will do the same here!
I started working on monthly overview last weekend as plan was to release it this week but due unforeseen circumstances I had to delay it. It should be out next Monday or Tuesday at the latest.

Example:
January = 200 posts | February = 230 posts | March = 100 posts

So, the result for the Q1 data is 530 posts

Note: I know that what I'm saying can be done even without this animated chart, but it would be better with animated charts. This is just a little suggestion, accepted or not it's @OP's right.

The problem with this approach  is that there wouldn't be a real race.

oldest board will just have more posts, and the current activity will have little weight in the total over the last decade.

Good work @bitmover, with this animated chart, of course, it will be very easy for us to see how the evolution of posts on each local board. But I have a little question about this.

Do we get important points from the chart you made? I see that the animated chart that you made was taken from data for 2020 to November 2022, besides that the data also doesn't accumulate from every month data.

We (at Indonesia's local board) have our own topic for monthly charts which are regularly updated, besides that, we also evaluate and discuss there. Therefore, I think that's better to have this animated chart made for quarterly, or yearly. So, someone from 1 local board can bring it to their local board and get points from the quarterly or yearly data (for local board evaluation purposes to make it more good). And it would be better if we have quarterly or yearly data accumulated from each month.

Example:
January = 200 posts | February = 230 posts | March = 100 posts

So, the result for the Q1 data is 530 posts

Note: I know that what I'm saying can be done even without this animated chart, but it would be better with animated charts. This is just a little suggestion, accepted or not it's @OP's right.

2022 ends but in this year, some members crossed 10,000 merit but you did not update your animated chart for their merit race.

Is it time for it?

The last update stops at October 2020.

Great visualization about post counts, I've shared it in our German section.

I'm sure if we would go back to 2018 / 2019, Indonesia and Pilipinas sections would be much stronger as activities dropped off a bit there but formerly less active boards like Portuguese and the Italian section are looking stronger right now. It's also interesting to see our Nigerian board as a TOP 10 local section already, showing once again that it was overdue to give a local board to our Nigerian members. Pakistan is also looking strong currently on rank 12.
And I'm very surprised how much our French section dropped off compared to early 2020...

I will to update it monthly as Rikafip updates his post.
+1

Do you think Russian board was in the first place even before 2020 since the beginning?
Yep. Some time ago I was curious to see what were the numbers back in those early days and from what I saw, Russian was always the most active local board. At the height of the ICO craze in the late 2017-early 2018 Russian board was regularly going over 150-200k which is insane number compared to situation now. Big part of that was probably bounty spam, but number was impressive nevertheless.

Through the animated chart, I see very little activity in some local boards. I don't know why. Is it because Crypto is not widespread in these countries, or is it because members from these countries write in English most of the time?
If I have to take a guess, its probably more about people from those countries probably using some other mean of communication rather than anything else.

I also think that signature campaigns may play a role in the low activity of some local boards, because some signature campaigns do not count posts in local boards. This is why many members do not write in their local language.
That's probably a factor too, but I never really understood that behavior. I was in a campaign that didn't count count posts in local boards for a year and a half and it never crossed my mind that I should write there less, or to avoid my local board all together.
