No way, price will only fall.

Yeah, that's what very fast diff retarget seem to cause.
First day: Why should I pay 1000 if I can just wait until the diff drops and some freshly joined miners will be happy to sell for 800 tomorrow? Second day: the same thing with 800 and 700. And so on...
The cycle might never stop because there is always lower and lower ... until ... the coin hits a 0.0x Gh/s speed and thus practically dies. Angry

Why can't I login at 42.pooljunkie.nl? Also don't get payed all for several hours..

..  why oh why

"All accounts are set to anonymous due to massive brute force atempts into the accounts. If you don't want that; disable it in your account. USE STRONG UNIQUE PASSWORDS. A cayne pool database was stolen and hackers are abusing this on all pools. LOGIN WITH YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS; NOT YOUR USERNAME"

Thanks,  didn't noticed on my moblie that it was change to login with email addres. All is still good.

@ dedicatedpool

Is it possible to change the minimum tresshold? Cause it is set too high, 0.00001 i think.

as far as i know autopayout can be set to 0.0000001
if u cant type it try copy/paste the value, it should work

Nope I got an error message when I copy/paste 0.0000001 (below thresshold)
Minimal tresshold I can set is 0.000001 (100dents)

Use a complex password - not from the dictionary, not your cat's middle name, not your mom's maiden name.

A pretty easy way of doing this, that I was taught, is to use quotes or lyrics you know. Just take the first letter of every word, throw in some numbers that don't have a personal connection to you (decimals from Pi or e for example) and you end up with a password that is easy to remember, yet hard to guess.

Example: We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars - Oscar Wilde
Ends up being: WaaitgBsoual@ts653589

Quote + easily exchangable symbol + 3.141592653589 = New password

Also a password database is an option where there is an option to automatically generate a complex password.
Software like KeePassX is a good one for that. It let's you securely store your passwords. Database itself is password protected too.

I think multipools like middlecoin should not be allowed. I am observing as they come the difficulty rise and then they left but the difficulty remains for blocks after then they come again when it is low again. Dedicated small 42 miners suffer much from this!!! There are still enough MH to keep the network healthy!

just type randomly in windows notepad some numbers and letters, then write them down in a real notepad (physical) with the website address, username and the password you just made up and have the notebook next to your computer.

done.

Whoops I spilt some coffee on my notepad.

Now what? lol

I never thought I'd do it but I finally resorted to writing down my wallet passwords on notecards. I copy the passwords to 3 different note-cards and keep them in different parts of my house.
I have yet to lose any and if I did lose a stack of notecards I will simply make another copy from the other two sets I have.

The same can presumably be done with passwords from mining pools. You just have to condition yourself to start doing it and from then on you won't find yourself NOT doing it.

Sign up for new pool but before filling in password fields make the random password first and copy it to 3 different notecards. Then when typing it in use 1 notecard for the first entry and a 2nd notecard for the "retype your password" entry. This guarantees that A) you are able to read your own handwriting and B) that your copies are identical even if your brain freaks out about making an error even though you rescanned it with your eyeballs 5 times over. Typing them into the computer like this gives me a very strange sense of security because I'm constantly paranoid that somehow I'll wake up and my passwords to send coins from my wallets will suddenly not work.

BTW: I also use 1Password, so each account has a unique and cryptographically stong password. Also use unique PINS and email addresses for each account, so I'm not aware of any accounts being 'hacked' as such, although I have been locked out (due to multiple failed log in attempts).

The only time I have lost coin is when pooljunkie crashed - they were holding over 10000 dents of mine when they went down!    Embarrassed
