Bitcoin=Gold
Litecoin=Silver
Namecoin= Bronze

42coin=Platinum?

These are new coins and may decline. With the exception of Doge the older ones may be more interesting as a long term investement: Franko, Fastcoin, Megacoin..

And 42coin, is a quite well premined coin:10000 blocks (5 full day premined). You can see the issue in the sources:

    int64 nSubsidy = 0.000042 * COIN;
....
    if(nHeight == 1)
    {
       nSubsidy = 0.42 * COIN;
        }

This one is quite useless...

looking at the developer's post history he defined Instamining and I presumed he defined a way to present it which I figured would make for better early distribution, I gather you feel it wont fly because he has 10,000 blocks of premined coins under his belt.

Premined Coins are an Issue as long they are "under his belt" like he said.
But if there would be transperency about how much is for promotion and how
much will stay "under his belt".
At that point the developers can show us how much transperency they show to public and specially to the supporters of 42coin?

they do a lot for promotion. i get some coins for promotion too and i will use the to promote the coin in Germany. We are on a early state of the coin. just wait and promote the coin if you believe in it. i do belive in it...

All cryptos are FIAT digital currency. Do not use.
42-qt won't start in server mode.  It won't start out of CMD prompt.  It runs fine when launched from Windows but I would like to solo mine.  Has anyone else had this problem?

Call out ... Worldcoin or Linkcoin ... see if it responds. Roll Eyes

Hey 42 thread, looking for a place to mine 42 coin? Join us at Chunky Pool!

Here's a little more info:

  • 0% fees forever, not just "for now"
  • SSL encryption
  • Custom MPOS layout
  • Support and a wonderful community @ irc.freenode.net #chunky
  • We are equipped to withstand thousands of workers
  • Excellent stability and uptime

We also provide many other coin pools and even have a coin-switching multi-port that switches between coins to maximize profitability!

One account fits all
We have modified MPOS to provide a multipool experience. You only have to create one account, and that account is shared among all of our coin instances. Unlike some other multipools, and since we're on top of MPOS, we offer you complete transparency about provided shares, found blocks and much more!

Pools
  • Dogecoin - port 3333
  • Earthcoin - port 3334
  • RonPaulCoin - port 3335
  • Lottocoin - port 3336
  • Stablecoin - port 3337
  • 42coin - port 3338
  • Digibyte - port 3339
  • Litecoin - port 3340
  • Klondikecoin - port 3341
  • Multiport - port 6666

And perhaps the biggest reason of all: we are miners just like you. We started this pool because we were sick of trying to find pools that didn't go down all the time. We are committed to making a better mining environment for you and for ourselves.

@smoky001 No, because a single pool with over 50% of the hashrate will have too much control.

If it stays like that for long no-one will trust the coin and that will kill it completely.

should we all join one pool to concentrate hashpower?

actually concentrating hashpower is never a good idea...

the problem is if the difficulty decreases to a too low value and if for some reason a pool finds too many blocks in a very short time span and in the same time let's say a multipool joins the network and also finds the same blocks in the same time span (with his huge hashing power very probable) the chain could fork...

in the case of 42 i believe it would be very unlikely but you never know...

so how do we atract more miners?

by boycotting the multipools who drive the diff up every time it comes down to lucrative values for normal miners....

problem is how?

we would need a lot of dedicated people to shape public oppinion about this matter, which in my mind is really hurting the whole altcoin community...
