I have decided to help both you and Boolberry because your communities have been supportive of Monero and have helped to advance CryptoNote innovation. If Shapeshift decides to add more CryptoNote coins I believe AEON and BBR should be next

https://twitter.com/XMRpromotions/status/689328498893144064

I will also send Shapeshift a follow up email

I was assuming that you and 'aeoncurrency' were the same person.

Confirm?

Wow. Looks like my fleet of 280s are coming out of hibernation after all...

Having issues with this last binary Arux put out for Wolfs updated AMD miner. I was already using the previous binary Arux put out with increased performance but with the new one it keeps crashing my display driver. Im updating the catalyst driver now. Hopefully this is the issue.

awaiting for wolf's binaries, i copied his recent work (from xmr miner) into my repo https://github.com/Arux-BTT/wolf-aeon-miner (branch: substantial_performance_increase)
Code:
git clone https://github.com/Arux-BTT/wolf-aeon-miner your_local_folder
cd your_local_folder
git branch substantial_performance_increase
make

hashing at ~1080h/s (vs ~800 before).  feel free to use it, windows64 build available at https://github.com/Arux-BTT/wolf-aeon-miner/releases

Thanks Arux. My little Pitcairn HD7850 went from 420 to 630h/s.
Unfortunately, it still cuts 100h/s out of 850h/s from my 8core FX processor because of high CPU usage.
Its a great improvement anyway.

Nice stats. I may need to start mining some Aeon soon.

I saw some discussion about reducing the CPU usage of the miner, so hopefully that will happen.

Thanks Arux. Let's try to get that hash rate up and mining a bit more decentralized. I may even feel motivated to drag out one of my GPU rigs from "cold storage".

Please let me know how you feel about this. Can we work together on seeking Shapeshift acceptance?

This was ShapeShift's (probably template) response to my request to add Boolberry, for what its worth:
Quote
Thanks for reaching out. I have added boolberry to our discovery list and our development team will look into it when they begin to decide on the next coins to add. We receive several dozen requests a day for new coins to be added so can not assure you we will add your coin, but we will for sure look into it and see if it makes sense for us to add at this time. Any new coins we add will be announced on our social media channels as well as via our email list.

Thank you for the update. Shapeshift would be a huge benefit to Boolberry until we can convince more merchants to accept us directly. We can benefit Shapeshift by providing them with more liquidity for those interested in trading CryptoNote coins.  This synergy advantage should be obvious from the big volume edge Poloniex has over other exchanges that list far fewer CryptoNote trading pairs.

Boolberry and Aeon may interest Shapeshift enough to be added on their own. However we have a greater chance of success if both Boolberry and Aeonapproach them in a unified fashion. The more Shapeshift users (who currently use them for Monero transactions) that express a similar view the better. CryptoNote community should help all of us and we cannot deny their is a lot of community overlap.

I will cross post this in the Aeon thread and depending on their reaction maybe we should approach Monero too.  My history has demonstrated my support for Monero to be added to Cryptsy (which seemed like a good idea at the time) and my support for an Aeon listing on Bittrex, Poloniex and Shapeshift. Lets work together.

Its poll time. Cast your vote!

When should we ask @Poloniex to list #aeon alongside its other #CryptoNote coins like #monero and #boolberry?

1. Now
2. After LMDB
3. After GUI

Please vote now if you have not already. There are just a few hours left in the 24 hour poll. The vote is currently tied between options 1 and 2 with 44% each with option 3 a distant 3rd at 12%

Final poll results:
24 votes
38% Now
46% After LMDB
16% After GUI

Is there any timeline for LMDB integration?

If you don't like the idea of putting all of your faith in one elliptic curve algorithm, Aeon can help!

CryptoNote uses the Schnorr signatures algorithm instead of Elliptic Curve Digital Signature Algorithm used by bitcoin
